Chapter 44: The Lord Supreme

 

In the Golden Ascension Hall, Lady Snowflake muttered as he looked at Yi Ping. “He is the one that the Eternal G.o.ddess is looking for?”

Yi Ping was now standing in front of her and he was trembling, “Your name is Ziyan? I know it is you because I can never forget the expressions of your eyes. I am so glad that you manage to make it out of there. You are here for?”

From the way that Maiden Ziyan looked at Yi Ping, it may sound like a dumb question to most of Yi Ping’s consorts but that was really something that Yi Ping did not really know!

The mute Maiden Ziyan said quietly, “I am here to attend the congregation as well…”

All the other celestials were muttering among themselves; this Maiden Ziyan was not a mute! This only aroused the anger among these celestials and convinced them that the dark celestial clans could not be trusted!

There were many dark celestial clans in the silver section too but they were not siding with the Erudite Sect. It was because rivalries among the dark celestial clans were even more uncompromising and shady than with the orthodox celestial clans!

Yi Ping quickly said to her as he glanced at Lady Snowflake, “Did someone force you into the Erudite Sect? The celestials here are all masters of their clans. Obviously, your protégé mistress is risking your life so that she can fulfil her ego.”

Lady Snowflake smiled bitterly at that suggestion.

Lingfeng felt like kicking Yi Ping in his b.u.t.t if she was near him. That was because it was obvious to her that this ‘Maiden Ziyan’ was the true master of the Erudite Sect!

Lie Qing thought, “Oh Ping’Er, she is not the weak vulnerable maiden that you think she is…”

Yunzi was smiling and was slightly amused.

Yi Ping added as he looked at the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage, “I have seen his sword skills. He is really strong…”

Maiden Ziyan nodded but she replied coldly, “Indeed. He is really strong and I am impressed. However unless he is willing to move aside and let us have the golden seats, our duel must go on.”

She looked coldly at the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage before adding more, “My precious straw hat has incalculable monetize value and he has damaged it to a state of beyond repair. This blood debt has to be paid for, am I right?”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was startled as he shouted angrily, “How dare you! You are really too insolent and disrespectful…”

All of a sudden, Maiden Ziyan had raised her unsheathed long sword and displayed an opening cut on the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage as she flashed past Yi Ping!

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was not slow either as he blocked the incoming stroke with his long sword, “Don’t think because you have a divine sword in your hands, you can afford to be arrogant. Divine sword can only help so much if the opponents are equal…”

All of a sudden, Maiden Ziyan had changed her stroke to a left swing as three burst of shockwaves rippled forth, knocking the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage aside even when he had raised his sword timely to block it!

All the celestials gasped in shock; given the martial foundation of the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage, he could actually be swept aside by a melee stroke!

Even Yi Ping was staring in disbelief!

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was in disbelief too. He had recognized that this was the sword techniques of the Erudite Impact Techniques and had even exchanged strokes with it in the past.

However, he had never seen such martial display from a martial pract.i.tioner of the Erudite Sect!

Firstly, she had not unsheathed her long sword yet; her sword strokes and speed could be even swifter if her sword was unsheathed!

Secondly, the impacting force of the Erudite Impact Technique had only one impact since the martial power to create such the shockwave requires the entire martial strength of the technique pract.i.tioner. But she had actually displayed the Erudite Impact Technique, not once but thrice!

This surprise move was the one that had caused the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage to move back hastily!

But for an epitome exponent like him, it was still not enough to hurt him and only caused him to be wary of her future strokes!

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was about to make his next move when the Immortal Saint of Swords reverberated from the golden platform, “Hold!”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was startled, “Huh?!”

The Immortal Saint of Swords looked at Maiden Ziyan and said, “Just who are you? I have never seen you or heard of you before.”

Maiden Ziyan hummed coldly, refusing to say a word!

Old Reverend Vanquisher Sage and Reverend Sword Pilgrim were also exchanging secret looks to each other.

Old Reverend Vanquisher Sage interceded, “Actually the Erudite Sect has already proven to us that they are able to have a seating position at the golden section. If you can honor us with your true celestial name, you may have the seating arrangement that you want. After all, trust is very important here and this is a peaceful congregation. Unless of course, you have an agenda and represent another celestial faction to stir trouble here.”

Reverend Sword Pilgrim added coldly, “There are three major celestial factions in the Celestial Realm. The Holy Ascension Sect is just one of them. The other two celestial factions are the Martial Deviant Clan and the Celestial Aiel Sect. These two other celestial clans are equal in strength to the Holy Ascension Sect. But all along, we have avoided meddling with each other’s affairs. But since you are here today, we won’t be merciful.”

All the celestials gasped.

No wonder she was so bold!

Was it because she was from either the Martial Deviant Clan or the Celestial Aiel Sect?

The Martial Deviant Clan was a major dark celestial clan with a rigid hierarchy. The grandmaster of the Martial Deviant Clan was known as the Martial Grandmaster, his two second command was known as Right Deviant Protector and the Left Deviant Protection. Below the Deviant Protectors were the Five Deviant Masters; Gold Deviant Master, Wood Deviant Master, Water Deviant Master, Fire Deviant Master and the Earth Deviant Master.

The Celestial Aiel Sect on the other hand was also a major dark celestial clan known for its deadly use of poisons for controlling the weaker clans under its sphere of influence. It was led by the Celestial Mistress and three Celestial Priestesses. The sect however was not forbidden to men.

Many of the celestial pract.i.tioners were all thinking at the same time, “Is she one of the three mysterious Celestial Priestesses from the Celestial Aiel Sect? She has taken some kind of a drug therefore she is able to suppress her aura? Only the Celestial Aiel Sect has that kind of wonder drugs to be able to do so…”

But Maiden Ziyan laughed softly, “The Martial Deviant Clan? The Celestial Aiel Sect? Definitely not!”

Yi Ping quickly added, “That is right. I can vouch for her!”

Reverend Sword Pilgrim hummed coldly, “Who knows if you are in league with her? From the looks of it, it certainly looks like it!”

The Ascension G.o.ddess interrupted with a wryly smile, “At least she is not three months ago. This I can vouch for her.”

Lele said mockingly, “Fancy so many of you trying to bully a single maiden and parading the rest of us in the middle of the hall as though we are criminals.”

When the Deadly Wanderer heard her, he muttered. “Criminals? Definitely not. Such a beautiful view…”

And there were many celestials that shared his views too!

Reverend Sword Pilgrim turned to ask Maiden Ziyan, “At least you should unveil yourself and make a formal introduction to us. Or else, we will surely view you with suspicious!”

Maiden Ziyan nodded as she lowered her sword…

Many of the celestials were secretly excited.

It was because they were curious what she looked like. From her enticing pose and delicate features, they wondered if she was as beautiful as the heavenly maidens that were standing in the middle of the hall.

However, there were also many celestials that were secretly anxious and wary of her secret agenda; they could tell that she was concealing her true martial level and the divine sword that was in her hands was like a s.h.i.+ning beacon that was constantly tempting them!

That was not all.

None of them could gauge her true state of divinity!

That was the most anxious thing in their minds!

That someone could conceal their own state of divinity from the eyes of these super celestials were something extraordinary and deserved a special attention!

Maiden Ziyan threw her outer robe aside, revealing a short translucent black garment with strange circular insignia underneath!

Even though the translucent black garment was extremely revealing and showing her curves, it discreetly covered her modesty too.

But it was too revealing and left nothing to the imagination for many of the celestials who were all ogling at her keenly!

Even without revealing her face, her stunning beauty stood her up among the many beauties in the middle of the hall.

The Universal Old Man was grinning to himself while Yi Ping became fl.u.s.tered and quite a number of celestials were gasping breathlessly.

The many extraordinary beauties that had suddenly appeared in the hall were enough to rouse many of the highly attained celestials from their meditations. And when the G.o.ddess Celestial Alice removed her robe, many of the celestials were no longer able to remain still!

All of a sudden, there were loud rumblings throughout the Golden Ascension Hall!

It was because many of the celestials had recognized that she was wearing the Celestium Silk, an extremely rare celestial artifact!

One celestial shouted aloud, “She is wearing the Celestium Silk!”

“Celestium Silk. Divine swords. Who are these people?” These were the questions that had popped in the minds of the celestials that were presented in the Holy Ascension Hall!

No other clans in the Celestial Realms had such an a.r.s.enal of divine swords as belonged to Yi Ping’s group. And the Tranquil City was just a newly formed clan! The Ascension G.o.ddess was known to many of the celestials presented but why was she in the company of the Tranquil City? And who and what was the background of the young man with the righteous air that appeared to be their leader?

The Immortal Saint of Swords was thinking, “That Yi Ping. An insignificant lowly celestial pract.i.tioner. He is now a Golden Celestial? That’s impossible. It is only six months since we had last fought. Who he is really that even the Celestial Alice picked him as her master?”

As for the Erudite Sect, it was only a small dark celestial clan yet it had dared to so much as to demand an outrageous seating position in the golden section! Outrageous was one thing. Challenging the entire cohort of celestials in order to win the golden seating position was an entire different matter!

In the entire Celestial Realm, which clan would be so insane to do that? If that particular clan was able to do so or had the strength to fight with a major celestial clan, surely they would be able to sit at the golden section and did not have to fight for their places!

Maiden Ziyan sighed softly as she unveiled herself slowly with her right fingers, “Just who am I?”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage hummed coldly, “You are a nothing but a witch and only a witch dressed like you do! I am the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage of the Infinity Sword Celestial Clan. Maiden, do you dare to accept my challenge?”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was br.i.m.m.i.n.g with rage. It was because he had lost much face in front of the other celestials and was afraid that he may be accused that he could not even handle a young maiden! He did not really care who she was. It was because with his epitome sword skills and mastery in the Six Negative Ley Infinitude Sword Energies, she meant nothing in his eyes!

Yixian the Celestial Fairy immediately cautioned to Maiden Ziyan, “Be careful. He is not an easy opponent to be taken lightly.”

Maiden Ziyan had loosened her veil and everyone could see her face clearly.

This immediately invited several gasping outbursts from many of the celestials and raised their eyebrows; it was because she was simply too stunning and the fickle of her eyes were so mesmerizing! Her intricate eyes and delicate facial features were really extremely captivating!

Many of the celestials in the Holy Ascension Hall had fought with the Martial Deviant Clan and the Celestial Aiel Sect over the years. They looked at each other and were waiting for someone to recognize her but apparently none was able to do so!

In the end, they really did not know who she was!

But Maiden Ziyan seemed to have guessed their thoughts as she smiled casually, “I am the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos…”

Immediately, there were a thunderous outburst from the entire hall and the ruckus was so noisy that all the celestials were shouting ceaselessly!

Even the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage had turned ashen at the announcement!

Lady Snowflake was startled as she looked at her protégés as she thought, “Isn’t she the G.o.ddess Celestial Alice? Why is she proclaiming herself as the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos?”

Yi Ping said aloud when he saw the disbelief in everyone’s eyes, “That’s right. She is indeed the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos!”

Lie Qing could only smile bitterly as she thought, “She may have fooled Yi Ping and the rest but certainly not me. But I don’t have the proof to refute her…”

Lingfeng the Heaveness also doubted about her claims, “She is really the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos? If she is, will she go around telling everyone she is? Does she knows that all these celestials are storming the Stellar Sanctuary in search of the Immortal Practice of the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos? Will the intellect of the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos be so imbecile as to declare such or is it because a Supreme Being cannot lie?”

Actually Yixian, Yu’Er, Mei’Er, Shen Xingyue, Youxue, Yunzi, the Stellar Heaven Fairy, Ascension G.o.ddess and the rest of the maidens were not dumb too. If they were then it would not be possible for them to reach their present level of enlightenment. Back in the Stellar Astronomic Formation, this ‘Maiden Ziyan’ had convinced them that she was the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos but this was not the Stellar Astronomic Formation!

To declare that she was the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos to these celestials were like delivering herself to these hungry devouring wolves that would not even spit out the bones!

Yi Ping was startled by the gasps of disbeliefs and mutterings that he said aloud to convince everyone, “She is really the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos! I have seen her in the Stellar Astronomic Formation!”

Maiden Ziyan smiled softly, feeling amused as she winked at him. “Thank you!”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage cried aloud, “What?! You have been to the Stellar Astronomic Formation? Don’t lie to me, young man!”

Yi Ping replied calmly, “That is right. I have seen her in the epicenter of the Stellar Astronomic Formation. She is the mistress of the Stellar Astronomic Formation.”

Hundreds of celestials were gasping at this piece of startling information!

But Lingfeng had a giddying headache as she almost exploded with anger as she thought miserly, “Yi Ping! Why are you dumb! I hate you!” She really felt like kicking him hard. It was because instead of helping Maiden Ziyan, he was only fanning the fire bigger!

Yu’Er and Mei’Er both had a stunned expression on them…

Even Lele who was often acting dumb most of the time so that she could play the other maidens into her weaving hands almost fainted on the spot when Yi Ping moved to defend ‘Maiden Ziyan’; she was really impressed that this ‘Maiden Ziyan’ could actually still say thank you to Yi Ping and remained so composed!

She thought, “If her gentle disposition is real, then she is going to be a dangerous rival. But I believe that she is only playacting. The only person with real gentle disposition is Sister Yixian and she doesn’t like to play mind games with us and leave us on our own.”

So she smiled to Maiden Ziyan, intending to cause some troubles for her, “My dear protégé mistress. If you want to fight this old man, your protégé here will be glad to lend you a helping hand!”

Yixian muttered softly with a gentle sigh, “Lele, you…”

Immediately, the celestials were shouting at the same time, trying to drown out each other with their a.n.a.lysis of the situation!

“So they are in league with each other!”

“I know it!”

“So the Tranquil City is the real mastermind behind the Erudite Sect!”

“Stop interrupting. She is really the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos?”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was the most startled. It was because he had just issued a challenge to the ‘Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos’!

He had suddenly realized that Old Reverend Vanquisher Sage, Reverend Sword Pilgrim and the rest of the celestials had discreetly moved to the side, literally telling him that he was on his own!

One celestial pract.i.tioner had even bowed with his hands to say before he moved up to the platform, “I admit that I am not on the same competency level as the Vengeful G.o.d Shuntian. Therefore I am withdrawing myself from the challenge and let the more powerful celestials to judge your clan qualifications instead.”

The same celestial smiled at the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage before he went quietly back to the golden section but at the same time, he was also looking at Maiden Ziyan, Yixian, Lie Qing, Shen Xingyue, Youxue, the Ascension G.o.ddess and the other maidens keenly.

He was one of the masters of the Wind Chimes Sect and was known as Ouyang Feipeng the Windy Blade. Maybe his martial skills were not as profound as the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage but to admit that his own skills were not as competent as the Vengeful G.o.d Shuntian was really an understatement!

Beside the newly seven most powerful celestial fighters name list, there was also the hundred celestial fighters name list and Ouyang Feipeng was actually on this name list!

Maiden Ziyan looked at the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage as she said casually, “The will of the pract.i.tioners of the sword must be resolute in order to be in unison with the sword. But there is now doubt in your heart and your will is faltering. How do you rate your chance against me?”

The Immortal Sword Blitz Sage secretly used his Great Whispering Skill to the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage, “Don’t fall into her ruse.”

The Immortal Saint of Swords willed through his sword auras from the golden platform, “She is just trying to shake your resolve. The Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos has long ascended to the Immortal Realm. I doubt anyone can validate her claims.”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage nodded as he quickly regained his composure, laughing aloofly again. “So maiden, do you dare to accept my challenge?”

Yi Ping was concerned that Maiden Ziyan had not recovered from her internal injuries so he said hurriedly, “Let me take your place in your stead instead.”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage said coldly, “I have not settled my score with you for stealing the divine swords of the Infinity Sword Celestial Clan.”

Yi Ping replied coldly as he unsheathed the Celestial Alice, revealing a bright rainbow halo that immediately brightened his surroundings, “Come get it if you are able to!”

If Yi Ping had not drawn out his divine sword then it would be good. But the instant the brilliant blade of the Celestial Alice was unsheathed, some of the celestials had immediately turned ashen! It was because they had recognized that the divine sword that was in Yi Ping’s hands was not an ordinary divine sword!

Yi Ping himself was a little startled. It was because the rainbow halo only appeared when he had split the Celestial Alice into the Celestial Antonym Alice and the Celestial Synonym Alice. In fact, the rainbow halo was brilliant and the divine sword was reverberating spiritedly!

Maiden Ziyan smiled at him, “You seem to be getting pretty well with the Celestial Alice.”

Yi Ping began to fl.u.s.ter and was momentarily startled at her praise.

He only recovered from his surprise when Shen Xingyue and Lie Qing had stepped forward beside him and exclaiming aloud, “We have not settled our scores with you too!”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage shouted, “Good! Let’s us settle our scores first!” He had raised his sword fingers and had displayed his fingers in quick successive, sending bursts of sword energies toward Yi Ping, Shen Xingyue, Lie Qing and at Maiden Ziyan. “Ley Negative Sword First Stroke!”

Shen Xingyue and Lie Qing had immediately raised their divine swords to parry the sword bursts aside as they took evasive action at the same time while Yi Ping had displayed the Ultrapowerful Force with the Celestial Alice as he dissipated the incoming sword energies into nothingness!

Because Yi Ping was standing in front of her and was s.h.i.+elding her, the sword bursts were not able to target her therefore she did not have to act.

After dissipating the sword energies, Yi Ping had immediately leapt forward towards the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage who had immediately drawn out his three swords in quick succession, sending all three swords flying towards Yi Ping!

As Yi Ping raised his divine sword to block the first sword, he was seized by a tremendous force that sent him tumbling backward!

He was startled and quickly exercised his entire martial strength just in time to block the second flying sword aside even as he exclaimed softly, “So strong!”

Once again, he was seized by a tremendous force and this time, he was forced to move several steps behind with the third flying sword homing on him!

Fortunately, Maiden Ziyan caught him by his shoulder and deflected the third flying sword aside!

But the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was not about to be released from his vent up furies as he willed his first and second sword back at Yi Ping again but this time, it was deflected by Shen Xingyue and Lie Qing who had sped next to Yi Ping at the same time!

The sword fingers of Yi Ping, Shen Xingyue and Lie Qing were all trembling slightly!

They were astonished at the martial strength of the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage!

Shen Xingyue thought, “No wonder the Sword Sages rarely use their swords anymore. It is because against most opponents, it will be an overkill…”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage was slightly taken aback that Yi Ping could actually withstand two of his flying swords and had not suffered any internal injuries.

Suddenly he had noticed that Yi Ping’s sword hands were glowing red. “What is that?”

Yi Ping was alarmed when he had noticed that his hands had turned red as he felt a painful burning sensation that was threatening to overwhelm him!

All his consorts were alarmed!

Shen Xingyue asked panicky, “Ping’Er, are you alright?”

Lie Qing gasped, “Ping’Er, even your arms and neck have turned red!”

All of a sudden, Maiden Ziyan had quietly struck him at his rib accupoint from the back as she whispered silently to his ears with her Great Whispering Skill. “Do not fear. This is just the blood of the Kirin that is at work here. While it is able to give you immense martial strength but over exerting yourself may trouble you with some side effects.”

She paused briefly before continuing, “Clear your thoughts and focus your mind first. I am going to merge the blood of the Kirin into your vital energy channels. Then you will be one with the blood of the Kirin.”

As she said that, Yi Ping could feel a soothing powerful infusion of internal strength rippling throughout his body. All of a sudden, the heat that he had felt earlier had all but dissipated and even the redness that was visible earlier was all gone!

Maiden Ziyan whispered to him, “It is done.”

Yi Ping was startled, “It is done? So fast!”

Maiden Ziyan smiled weakly, “Even though it is fast, I have expended a great deal of internal strength for you. You…you must be grateful to me in future!”

Yi Ping turned and looked quickly at her. When he saw that she had broken into beads of perspirations, he was immediately guilty and was extremely appreciative of her. So he nodded and said earnestly, “Thank you…”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage and all the others were startled. Yi Ping had turned red a moment ago and in just a blink of an eye, he had returned to normal again!

All the celestials were startled that this Maiden Ziyan could actually treat someone via her internal strength in such a casual manner while in such a tense situation. Moreover, Yi Ping was fully clothed and it was really dangerous to do so in such a situation for both parties! Even the most confident internal arts pract.i.tioner would never dare to transfer or transfuse their internal strength to another if there were any obstructions!

Maiden Ziyan whispered to Yi Ping, “That is alright. Now I will need to recuperate for a while. Do you think you can protect me for a while I take a short rest?”

Yi Ping nodded silently as he stared coldly at the Immortal Sword Zealot Sage.

He sighed softly as he grasped the Celestial Alice tightly, “Qing’Er, Xing’Er. Let me take him first. Or else, he will surely accuse us of ganging up against him.”

He had noticed that Shen Xingyue and Lie Qing fingers were still trembling and they had not recovered from the aftershocks of the initial attacks.

Shen Xingyue said quietly, “I am really alright. He is a senior. Surely he won’t accuse us of ganging up against him.”

Lie Qing laughed softly, “That is right! Three versus one. That is really fair in my view!”

The Immortal Sword Zealot Sage said aloud, “My fellow celestial pract.i.tioners. You have heard them? One claims to be the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos while this Yi Ping is obviously siding with her. Aren’t their ill-intentions obvious already? If we are still blind to the obvious then we will have enemies within us soon, enemies that will destroy us and disrupt our positions in the Celestial Realm!”

“She is indeed not the Dark Lord of the Chaos Cosmos!” A thunderous voice reverberated and shook the entire Golden Ascension Hall!

Everyone turned towards the entrance and they could see a sagely old man with white robe standing there. The flicker in his golden eyes marked him as an Ancient Celestial. His presence was exceedingly commanding and caused many of the celestials to be in awe of him!

Even though, not many of the celestials in the Golden Ascension Hall could recognize him but judging by the respectful look of the Ascendant protégés and from the high level celestials, most of the celestials were able to guess that he was none other than the Lord Supreme of the Holy Ascension Sect, the grand patriarch of the Holy Ascension Sect!

The Lord Supreme was the founder of the Ascension Sect and was the first protégé master. All in all till now, the Ascension Sect had a total of three protégé masters. But when the third protégé master, Grandmaster White Crane was killed in the Stellar Sanctuary, the Lord Supreme had made his return from his solitary retreat and a.s.sumed the leaders.h.i.+p of the Ascension Sect once more and even renaming the Ascension Sect as the Holy Ascension Sect.

All the celestials had all rose to their feet to welcome him!

Yu’Er and Mei’Er secretly exchanged hush glances…

The Ascension G.o.ddess immediately whispered solemnly to Yi Ping with the Great Whispering Skill, “My dearest. You have to be respectful to him. He is none other than the Lord Supreme, the grand patriarch of the Holy Ascension Sect! Don’t you even entertain any wishful thoughts that you can get away after provoking him…”

She took a look at the communicative facial expressions of Lingfeng as she quickly added for her, “Never mind, just be quiet!”

Lingfeng nodded at the Ascension G.o.ddess with an appreciative smile for helping her to sum up her thoughts!

Both Lingfeng and the Ascension G.o.ddess were really afraid of what actions the Lord Supreme may take!

Lingfeng had naturally recognized the Lord Supreme. It was because they had fought once too many times in the Stellar Sanctuary and their grudges ran deep; he was not someone that she wanted to meet.

The Universal Old Man was cursing, “Why isn’t he dead yet…”
