Chapter 160: Battle Ring in the Military Camp

Translator: Udong Editor: EbonyFrost/Udong

Fanta Kunge let go of the heavy stones on his back and cast them onto the ground creating a cras.h.i.+ng sound as loud as a beating war drum, which caused a slight tremble to the earth where Aliku was standing on.

"What’s wrong?" Fanta Kunge stretched his body, paying little attention to Aliku, as he had heard enough of such acclaims ever since he was young.

Aliku, who was coldly received by Fanta Kunge, smiled nonchalantly, "I heard that the number one warrior in Jinsey State’s general exam has come to our Reventment Camp, so I’m here to see whether he is as powerful as the rumors say."

Fanta Kunge started straightening up his clothes to prepare for the coming drills, without sparing Aliku so much as a glance as he had heard of this sort of things far too many times.

"Pitifully…" Aliku uttered a deliberate sigh and peeped at Fanta Kunge, who was treading forward but suddenly stopped upon hearing what he had said. Aliku laughed to himself as Fanta Kunge was after all, a naive young person who possessed strong ambitions.

"In my point of view, you might not be the strongest new-enrolled student in the Reventment Camp." Aliku watched Fanta Kunge turning back and put on a pitiful face, "Even though the general exam of our Yulee State hasn’t started, I believe that Qian Jin from Oakland Mage and Warrior Academy is stronger than you!"

Seeing Fanta Kugne slowly walk toward him, Aliku tried to suppress his hearty excitement that was about to burst. "You don’t need to feel angry just because what I had said was true. Even Qian Jin himself had admitted it."

Fanta Kugne eventually stood in front of Aliku. He bent over, coming closer to Aliku’s face. He gazed at him for several seconds, and then wore a scornful look, "A teacher of Oyedeji Academy? I’m undoubtedly young and ill-tempered but I’m after all a warrior born to the military Fanta Family. I’ve learned a lot about schemes such as provoking and inciting since an early age. Just because you're stupid doesn't mean that others will also behave in a foolish manner. You want me to serve you as a free killer? Go back and read more about military arts."

Aliku stared at Fanta Kunge blankly as his breaths grew more hurried. This young man had a pair of lion-like eyes! He himself was disguised as a clever fox, and rushed to the lion in order to cheat him into catching elk for him to eat. However, his sabotage was seen through by the lion and was consequently faced with the risk of being eaten by the lion instead.

Fanta Kunge, at the sight of Aliku’s stupefied look, sneered and turned away.

Puff…Aliku couldn't stand straight anymore, and slumped down onto the ground. Watching Fanta Kunge walk away he suddenly recalled that Fanta Family started from the commanding branch and gradually developed into the present family which integrated both the commanding branch and the warrior branch.

The warrior power Fanta Family acc.u.mulated these years represented the peak of power warriors born without bloodline ancestries could reach, making people neglect the fact that Fanta Family not only stressed individual combat power but also commanding abilities.

"You mean Qian Jin?"

Fanta Kunge walked away far, whispering to himself, "I will not be utilized by anyone. Yet I do want to have a go at him."

Ten days confinement was an extreme torture for a lot of people.

But to Qian Jin, it was nothing unusual. Staying in the Four Season Valley for two years was equivalent to being confined in a huge guardhouse.

For the ten days confinement in the small dark house, Qian Jin felt as if he was on a trip, killing time by eating, drilling warrior power and reading Divine Shot by the dim light, trying to find out the secret to the strange feeling he had been engaged in.

Duren Burg was also working hard during the ten days confinement. For the sixteen hours when he was awake, besides solving basic physical needs, he would use one hour for chatting with Qian Jin and dedicated the rest of his time to practicing hard.

"I want to be the leader of the new generation! I want to get a warrior fruit! I want to fill an entire warrior dimension with tobacco! So I will spare no efforts to achieve my dreams!"

Every time when Qin Jin heard Duren Burg’s swears, he would dwell on it carefully, trying to figure out the greatness of his dreams. The goal of becoming the leader of the new generation could be deemed as a great dream, however, it was made in order to fill a warrior dimension with tobacco…a dream like this…maybe Rollin would "praise" it greatly on knowing that.

The dilapidated draft door was opened slowly, through which sunlight penetrated into the small dark room.

Qian Jin squinted, got himself used to the bright light outside, and walked out.

"The holiday is over." Duren Burg stretched his body, walked by Qian Jin’s side and said to him in a very low voice, "Give me another packet of cigarettes?"

Qian Jin didn’t hesitate to do the thing he had been dreaming of during the past ten days—kicking him!

"Ouch!" Duren Burg fell onto the ground, and growled while covering his b.u.t.tocks, "I got hurt…it hurts so much! I need to stop the pains, please give me a cigarette."

"You behave so alike when you are trying to cheat others." Qian Jin sighed and placed a packet of cigarettes in front of Duren Burg which stopped the growling immediately.

"You could have avoided that just now." Qian Jin kindly reminded Duren Burg.

"Would you have given me this packet of cigarettes if I avoided that?" Duren Burg kneaded his b.u.t.tocks, looking into Qian Jin who was caught blank, "That being said, receiving your kick was worth it."

"Duren Burg!" A woman who dressed like a teacher came to them with an angry face, "You are really my pride! Being sentenced to confinement? Today I must…"

At the sight of the woman, Duren Burg hurried to the opposite direction, saying to Qian Jin without looking back on him, "My comrade! I will drop in on you some other day, or let’s see each other in Punitive Expedition Academy. Please make sure to be enrolled there!"

"Want to run away?"

A gust of fragrant breeze blew by Qian Jin, accompanied by the pretty woman growing long and golden hair vanis.h.i.+ng with the wind.

Rodriguez, along with the students of the academy, were standing not far outside the gate. Gabriella was as timid as before, and the other apprentices were wearing a surprised yet puzzled face.

"Kid." Rodriguez placed his hands around his waist, and said to the approaching Qian Jin, "Explain it to me of your own accord. What has happened on earth to you? The strength you displayed 10 days ago was beyond imagination. How could you have concealed it from us for so long?"

Durk and the other guys p.r.i.c.ked up their ears instantly, as they had been questioning Gabriella about the reason for Qian Jin’s compelling strength, yet this mage apprentice kept her mouth closed, saying nothing. Their questions, which had gone unanswered for so long, were about to be solved.

"Professor…" Qian Jin shrugged his shoulder, "You never asked me before. Besides, you have been comforting me kindheartedly. Against your sincere consolation, it’s really hard to tell you the truth otherwise you would have been demoralized."

Rodriguez came up to pinch Qian Jin’s neck with his hands, "Will you enlighten us now? My anger grows any time I think of it. Have you been fooling around with me all this time? Say, have you already reached the summit of level 10 warrior?"

"Professor…I’m a demon fighter now…and not at level 1 either."

"What! A demon fighter?"

Rodriguez, Durk, everyone of Oakland Academy except Gabriella, as well as several veterans all exclaimed out of surprise.

A demon fighter! It was such a rare thing for a level 10 warrior to enter an advanced academy! But being admitted to an advanced academy with the ident.i.ty of a demon fighter? That was an exclusive privilege for the bloodline warriors.

"What is a level 1 demon fighter?" Rodriguez and Durk felt puzzled and asked Qian Jin.

"It refers to the strength ranking of demon fighters."

As observed by Rodriguez, Qian Jin didn’t open his mouth, yet a voice came from behind him slowly. He immediately turned back, so did the other apprentices.

Fanta Kunge was dressed in fit warrior uniform, which outlined his st.u.r.dy muscles. He walked at a slow pace, and kept saying, "All demon fighters are the same to many people. But in fact, they are cla.s.sified into nine levels, among whom the strongest ones are the level 9 demon fighter, and a level 1 demon fighter refers to a warrior at the bottom level."

Rodriguez looked back at Qian Jin, questioning the authenticity of such words.

"Yes." Qian Jin looked at Fanta Kunge, "What’s your level?"

"Let’s have a go?" Fanta Kunge said with friendliness, instead of aggression. It was a surprise as well an excitement for him to encounter an ordinary warrior, a demon fighter exceeding level 1 who hadn’t pa.s.sed the general exam in the military camp.

Fanta Family treated every ordinary warrior who had excellent abilities with sincerity and support, and would try their best to absorb them into its Jinsey army group.

"No problem." Qian Jin nodded his head aloofly. Having lived in the Four Season Valley for two years, he had already got into the habit of showing no fear in the face of any challenge.

There was a battle ring equipped in almost every military camp in Zence Empire which was generally used by the soldiers to hone their fighting technique in their leisure time. As such honing was done in front of a mult.i.tude, the defeated one would feel faceless, thus they would practice drilling with greater diligence, in an attempt to find back their confidence in the ring as soon as possible. This served as a way for the army leaders to train their soldiers.

To tell truth, this tradition was borrowed from the miscellaneous advanced warrior academies, as they provided their apprentices with rings of different types.

The Reventment Battlefield also enjoyed a ring, a round one with a diameter of slightly more than ten meters and a stage made from three-inch-thick wood board and fixed by rows of steel nails to ensure its steadiness.

All the soldiers who had heard about this news gathered immediately. As long as you were not a.s.signed with emergent military missions, and were not the soldiers in post then, sparring with others would not be deemed as a breach of military regulations. It was totally different from fighting as Qian Jin had done ten days ago when he beat others in private.

Qian Jin was aware of the existence of such a ring, but he didn’t intend to solve it on the ring. The reason was that, if his opponents were afraid of going to the ring, he would not have the chance to punch them, or the teacher.
