Totally not an april fools joke, I finished a chapter! yay!

Delays so many delays! I’ve also gone partially blind from allergies(seasonal kind). My right eye is pretty much very blurry now from being so dry and irritated(Its well and good nothing permanent). Its kinda weird though doing things without depth perception. I am happy to say I am now very aware of door frames and table corners.

That day: Crown Prince Perspective

I am the first born child of Altria kingdom's king, Leonheart・Altria. This kingdom's crown prince.

I've lost interest in the boring everyday. Fortunately I have high ability, the emperor studies that I've been doing since childhood were not so difficult for me.

Once read I generally could understand most of the books, moving my body doing military arts and dancing was enjoyable, although I've had little opportunity to go outside of the royal court I was bored it could not be helped that it was boring.

Having said that, I was not interested(curious) enough in the town to sneak out of the royal court and somehow I managed everyday.

There was a friend who would be a future close a.s.sociate, the son of the knight order leader George whose interest was only in the military arts, the prime minister's son Remias who is gloomy(melancholic) for some reason or other could not come to like.

Remias's younger sister is Remy, my future queen(consort) candidate I've had several opportunities to meet. I considered her charming with lovely blond hair, always laughing loudly for which I could not comprehend the meaning of.

Besides the royal palace when I go out it is mostly major aristocrat open tea parties, the day as usual a boring tea party, I properly handle the n.o.ble ladies that drew near(cling close to) me.

Today's tea party garden s.p.a.ce was somewhat different from the royal palace and other n.o.ble gardens, it had a simple(subdued) feeling mood.

There are lines drawn on sand with stones randomly arranged on the plot  I guess.

Is there an autumn coloured(momiji) tree planted in the eastern direction? Coloured leaves of red or yellow fell onto the sand, the white sand tinged with the difference("gap" in colour) was unexpectedly beautiful.

Just now from far away Kakoーn a sound echoed, however is it a woodcutter?

"…… Quickly depart from here at once!"

While ignoring the young ladies' conversation to look at the garden, a voice was heard from a corner of the garden.

That voice is…… Remy? You aren't laughing loudly today? It's surprising.

While I did not understand the meaning, because the loudly laughing Remy is amusing(interesting), I went towards the direction thinking that it would be better than being here.

From behind George and Remias follow along, George is still grasping the confection in his hand.

The confection is a springy white round(dango) shaped lump stuck with a skewer, skillfully(deliciously/cleverly) flavoured with sugar. It was a confectionary shape that I had never seen before until now, George is enormously pleased with it, the whole time grasping it tightly and eating continuously. (TLN: the word dango seems to have multiple meaning dumpling, dango, round shaped thing, and/or lump so I'm choosing based on context here and below when the characters pop up again)

When I enquired the maid the name of the confection,

"It is a dango."

When answered, I asked what a dango is(whats it about), when asked,

"It is made from rolling rice, prepared from what the Ojou-sama of this house saw in her dreams."

So to say. Did she want to eat the confection as in her dream?

An unusual young lady. I got interested in the young lady a little.

As I walked in the direction towards Remy's voice, someone was denounced(verbally attacked) surrounded by a crowd of people.

"Cosette, this is your flower garden is it not?!"

A single young lady was pushed out from behind Remy's back.

……Young lady? A snowman?

But she and that confection…… Un, has a strong appet.i.te huh.

Recognizing her, it turns out, she seems to like eating.

Somehow(vaguely), I just imagined a cute young lady who was good at making sweets……(TLN: I finally got sick of using the word confection but it is still the same jp words)

When I was staggering(dumbfounded) for a short while from the gap in the young lady I pictured, a shriek was heard.

"I just came to pick flowers, what are you doing!"

"What are you doing!"

Because of that sudden(surprised/showy) voice, I raised my voice. Since Remy is somewhat forceful(intense/determined/strong), it may possibly be that she is bullying the opposing young lady.

Behind me Remias breathed a sigh yareyare(good grief).

"I am asking you what you are doing!"

Remembering it now it was shameful(embarra.s.sing), at that time, I did not imagine that the young lady sitting down was not invited. At the time Cosette was talking about that, because I was only a.s.sessing Cosette's face(visage).

Among the crowd, a pink headed touchingly lovely young lady was sitting down below.

The young lady has a sick mother…… Saying such things or something like that, I was nailed onto the young lady's pink hair. Hence what was said exactly was not coming to mind.

Pink coloured hair, and surrounded by that hair, countenance……

That is, it was an exact resemblance to the hidden portrait decorating the king's, my father's room.

How long ago was it? I do not remember exactly.

The me who was very young compared to now, crept into father's room for which I was not allowed to enter normally.

It was simply curiosity, and at heart mischief.

When my father is working and not in the room, the guard would only be one person. That moment of change is the target……

Repeatedly hidden beyond layers of silk curtains, it was there.

A carefully painted portrait of a beautiful woman.

A touchingly lovely face adorned with pink hair, however the portrait even the round( and cute? つぶらな – tsuburana?) sky blue eyes appeared to s.h.i.+ne vividly.

I saw that portrait was clearly cherished, my father's secret…… I remember the trembling hands from guilty feelings from seeing what I should not have seen.

I was dumbfounded(in a daze) when I left the room, I asked the guard to keep it a secret that I was unexpectedly in the room and returned to my room.

The guard, nodded to me in reply because he did not want his own carelessness to be known, for me such things were already inconsequential.

The face of the woman in the portrait who I saw only once, was scorched into my eyes and unforgettable.

This, face is……

The woman of the portrait, was obviously connected somehow.

While I was stunned, forcing it to work my head did not turn well, I asked(entrusted) the Edelweiss Earl to shelter her at a suitable location.
