The maid chewed the head and the flying swords as if they were just a melting chocolate ball. This scene reminded Li YunXin of a sentence in a novel which he read in his previous life-- “How could you just pick him up and eat him?”.[1]

No matter what, HuaiNanZi was “a direct disciple of the leader of the Above the Clouds Sword School”. This t.i.tle sounded like a minor role, and now he did look like one, but Li YunXin wouldn't think that HuaiNanZi was rubbish in this world.

It only meant that the mistress and her maid were certainly powerful demons.

Maybe they were even stronger than Lord Nine.

He gently breathed out, tilted his head and smile: “It does taste bad like this, but I’ve seen someone who ate in an interesting way. He torn them up at first, and them grilled them above fire--”

Hearing this, the maid blinked: “Yee? You are not afraid of us? Lady, this guy is not afraid of us!”

Bai YunXin smiled: “That’s why he is fun. Then, tell me, the one you met, how did it look like? You have met with other demons?”

“Ah...it should have been a demon. I didn’t see it clearly. I only saw its big eyes. It was as tall as I am, and had gales on its body. What’s more, it called it self Lord Nine.”

Actually Li YunXin was quite interested in what demon Lord Nine really was. When he was still in the modern era, and watched the TV series, he liked to guess the original forms of the demons in them. Now he was in a true adventure, but he didn’t lose his curiosity.

Not to mention that none of that he before and the current he, were normal. Talking about the humans and demons in this world, and thinking about his past, he always thought that he was more familiar to the demons.

He thought Bai YunXin looked so strong...maybe the great demons were close to each other, and she knew Lord Nine.

However, he found the facial expressions of the maid and Bai YunXin became weird.

They looked at each other, and even Bai YunXin who always been calm and cool, started to breathe quickly.

“He...Where did you saw him?” Bai YunXin narrowed her eyes, and moved her face forward to stare at Li YunXin.

Li YunXin felt familiar about her weird pose, but didn't remember where or when did he saw it.

However, he soon found that there was no more smile on the face of this demon, it had been replaced by a strong desire - It was even stronger than the desire she showed when she smelled the aroma on his body.

If his experience and knowledge from his previous life didn’t betray him, he though it was a desire for food.

“Ah...in...Qing River County?”

“It’s him, my lady!” The maid widely opened her eyes, and jumped with excitement, “Tiny Nine, Tiny Nine, Tiny Nine! It’s Tiny Nine!”

“Yeah, it’s Tiny Nine...” It seemed that Bai YunXin had realized that she lost the control of her emotion,

“Then...I won’t go to Wei City with you. Li... YunXin. Em, that’s a good name. You see, I’ve got a name which is Bai YunXin.” Bai YunXin got close to him, softly breathed for a few times, and said: “I’ll go for you after finding Tiny Nine.”

“You can’t hide from me when I come. Emm...Here.”

She put her hand into her sleeve, searched, and pulled out a s.h.i.+ny small sword.

It was not accurate to call it a sword - this thin weapon was about 2-finger-long, looked more like a straight swords with a sharp tip. One side had a full blade, but the other side had only a half blade. It looked this weapon could be used to both stab and slash.

They sword was about a meter long, and barely had a guard. It only had a white, smooth and long handle.

“Here, it’s for you.” Bai YunXin said: “I can find you, as long as you’re taking it with you.”

Li YunXin reached out his hands and took the sword immediately: “Okay. I’ll wait you in Wei City, but you must come. ”

Bai YunXin smiled: “You... if you run away, I’ll eat you.”

Then she suddenly spread out her arms, and her sleeve soon became so wide that almost cover her whole body. Following a clear cry, fierce wind raised in the forest. After that, Bai YunXin’s sleeves became heavy fogs, and soared into the sky along with the wind--

After a few seconds, there was only Li YunXin left in the forest, with that sword in his hand.

He stood there for another few seconds. Not until confirmed that the mistress, her maid and her black donkey had gone with the clouds did he breathed out, and bent to rub his legs.

His legs were almost unable to feel, and was about to cramp. His clothes were soaked by his sweat. When the cold breeze blew, he felt his body cold and wet, like being ill.

It was surely seeing ghosts[2] - Running into 2 great demons within 2 weeks!

He glanced at the sword in his hand, and slightly frowned. He didn’t understand why would Bai YunXin thought that he “smelt good”, but he knew that the sword couldn't be anything good. Maybe that demon would find him later with the help of this.

He didn't trust the “liking” and “kindness” that demon showed to him at all, because he understood the minds of the demons really well - They looked like humans, but they had never seen humans as their own kinds.

Thus he thrust the sword into the gra.s.s-covered ground.

That sword was surprisingly sharp and solid, it didn’t take him any effort to put the whole sword into the ground, along with its handle - Li YunXin felt a slight resistance when he did so, it should be the rocks underground. However, the sword seemed to cut through the rocks easily.

Then he patted the back of his head, and said: “Ay, get out.”

When demons attached themselves to human bodies, they usually stay in the Palace of the Mud Ball[3]. The cat demon crouched in his body for so long without making any voice, it seemed that Bai YunXin the great demon had frightened it out of its wits.

After a few moments, he heard that G.o.ddess SanHua said: “Ha? Gone? Ah...Scared me to death, that peck, ayya, scared, to death! Ay, my nice body, ay, can only be used like this, ay...”

Its voice faded. At the next moment, Li YunXin found the corpse of Qiao JiaXin which was lying on the ground stood up again.

However, this time, it was almost too messy to look at. Her belly had been cracked, while her guts were also pierced.

Li YunXin frowned: “Let her rest in peace, since she’s like this now. Do you really think you could walk on the street like this? People would be scared.”

However, the cat demon seem to had an unusual fondness in this body. She waved with annoyance, and covered her belly with her hands: “Eek! Clothes, just wear clothes, ah? Then it will all be okay, just wear clothes! Humph, how dare you? This is the sacred body of this G.o.ddess, err...Yee? What’s that? Em? What ? Em?”

She released her hands which was covering her belly. Her attention was totally drawn by another thing. Then she tried to grab Li YunXin with her b.l.o.o.d.y hands.

A cat doing this might be cute, but a dead woman? Not cute at all.

Li YunXin frowned and shouted at her: “What are you doing!?”

The cat demon had been shocked, so she put her hands back on her belly, but kept staring at Li YunXin’s chest: “Yee? What’s this? Em...Ayya, this one is fun, aya...”

It was at this time, Li YunXin noticed that his chest was lit up.

There was moonlight in the forest, but it was night after all, and not a night of the 15th day of the month, on which the moon would be full[4]. Thus he could clearly see that there was a soft while light coming beneath the clothe in front of his chest.

A square light in the size of a hand.

Being surprised, Li YunXin reached into his clothes to take that thing out.

The Illuminated Jade Slips used to be purely transparent, but now it had become milk-white. It was like there was light withing it, being contained and not spreading. On one side of the jade slip, something appeared on the background of white light.

It was a line of words.

What is more, a slim black dot was bouncing under the words.

Li YunXin looked at those words, and startled.

Then he rubbed his eyes with his hands, and looked at the words again.

With a weird look fixed on his face, he was frozen for a few minutes, then he finally opened his s.h.i.+vering lips--

“What the...”
