Chapter 15—Want to Sneak Attack Me?

“Then it looks like we can only head towards Yufeng Court and request for a.s.sistance.” After hearing the entire legend pertaining this Soul-Devouring Succubus, Xing Jue laughed to the Heavenly-Dragon Commander, immediately getting up to continue his journey forwards.

“Hehe, could it be that Younger Brother Xing Jue intended to request help from Yufeng Court this whole time?” The Heavenly-Dragon Commander smiled towards Xing Jue, who was walking in front of him, because he had noticed for a while that although the route Xing Jue used to escape was imprecise, the direction he was fleeing in was more or less accurate. In the midst of this kind of confusing circ.u.mstances, he was unexpectedly able to find the best pathway; the Heavenly-Dragon Commander, in regard to Xing Jue’s way of thinking, could only be amazed. Immediately, he got up as well to follow.

It was just that, in the area where the Heavenly-Dragon Commander had just been sitting, a difficult-to-spot seal made of qithreads, was left behind…

“Heavenly-Dragon Commander, actually, I have a question I want to ask you. Since the Soul-Devouring Succubus is so strong, why does she only hide within the Death Peaks? With her kind of strength, if she were to unrestrainedly kill people everywhere, wouldn’t that be better? Why does she only wait for opportunities to strike inside the Death Peaks?” In the surrounding area of the Death Peaks, Xing Jue walked while he spoke.

“It’s possible that because of some kind of restriction the Soul-Devouring Succubus is unable to leave the Death Peaks,” the Heavenly-Dragon Commander replied.

“If it really is like you say, then as long as we can leave this part of the mountain range we’ll be completely safe?” Xing Jue looked towards the already darkening sky, smiling as he spoke; they had already spent an entire night unceasingly travelling. Xing Jue and his companion were on the verge of leaving this devil-beast ridden mountain range, entering the outer scope of the Yufeng Court’s territory.

“Heavenly-Dragon Fist!” The Heavenly-Dragon Commander suddenly shouted ferociously, a cruel expression forming on his face. At the same time, his right fist emitted faint golden strands of martial qi that began to rapidly condense; immediately, he raised his right fist, fiercely attacking towards Xing Jue’s direction.

“Boom!” However, facing the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s sudden attack, Xing Jue had actually long been prepared. Just before he was. .h.i.t, Xing Jue suddenly ferociously turned around, directly beating back with his fists towards the Heavenly-Dragon Commander.

“Heh heh, has the fox finally shown his tail?” Xing Jue looked towards the awkward expression on the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s face, smiling as he spoke. Evidently, regarding this Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s sudden attack, he wasn’t surprised at all. Actually, Xing Jue didn’t actually know why the Heavenly-Dragon Commander would suddenly attack him, but it was just that Xing Jue had actually never bothered to completely trust him in the first place; regarding these type of people that were hard to understand, Xing Jue would always maintain vigilance at all times, which is why his reaction came off as unsurprised.

“Regardless of why you would want to attack me, you still did the deed, which is why I’ll be collecting your soul!” Xing Jue ignored the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s shock, unhurriedly speaking. At the same time in his right fist small threads of faint golden martial qi began to rapidly condense, furthermore emitting a dazzling radiance. Amidst this dark jungle, it was similar to a beacon.

“What a strong martial art technique!” Towards the dazzling light emitted by Xing Jue’s right fist, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander astonishedly spoke. At the current moment he unexpectedly had some regret, regret that this youngster was about to attack, because had absolutely not expected that Xing Jue would be so strong in this way.

“Why don’t you go to h.e.l.l!” Xing Jue loudly shouted, brandis.h.i.+ng his right arm, a magnificent glowing handprint rapidly sweeping towards the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s direction.

“Heavenly-Dragon Meteor Fist!” Confronted with this rapidly approaching glowing handprint, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander was utterly incapable of dodging. Without any other choice, he could only resist with all his strength, layering faint golden martial qi over his fist, which collided with that glowing handprint in a mutual collision.

“Ah…!” Immediately following this was a sudden wretched scream. The Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s right arm had been unexpectedly exploded into pieces, large amounts of blood unceasingly flowing out of what remained of his arm. Furthermore, this was apparently caused by Xing Jue’s Biting Wind Palm.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, your bones are pretty strong. Unexpectedly, one fist isn’t enough to kill you.” Xing Jue clicked his tongue as he mockingly spoke. As he spoke his body abruptly moved, appearing to, in a manner similar to lightning, sweep over to beside the Heavenly-Dragon Commander, one leg stepping on the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s left arm, the other leg violently stomping on the Heavenly-Dragon’s stomach area.

“Pffft.” He laughed in contempt.

“Younger Brother Xing Jue, spare me; Younger Brother Xing Jue, spare me, ah!” Having been injured even more by Xing Jue, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander spit out a mouthful of blood, pragmatically hastening to plead for his life.

“Don’t bother acting pitiful, go die!” Confronted with the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s pleads, Xing Jue actually did not even have the slightest amount of pity. As far as an enemy was concerned, Xing Jue would practically never be lenient on them; but just as Xing Jue prepared to settle the situation once and for all, the voice that Xing Jue wanted to hear the least once again sounded out loud.

“Hahaha, what a fierce little devil. This old lady likes you.” Amidst that dark thicket, an alluring silhouette slowly appeared. This was really the Soul-Devouring Succubus.

“Esteemed Succubus, save me! Esteemed Succubus, save me!” Seeing that the Soul-Devouring Succubus had appeared, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander hurriedly shouted.

“f.u.c.k, so it turns out that you and him were together.” Previously, regarding how the Soul-Devouring Succubus could have been able to unexpectedly appear so quickly,  Xing Jue had felt a great deal of confusion. But upon hearing the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s cries for help, Xing Jue suddenly came to a realization; this b.a.s.t.a.r.d must have left behind some kind of seal, or else the Soul-Devouring Succubus would have been unable to appear so quickly. Thinking about this, Xing Jue’s anger raised a notch, immediately raising his right fist in preparation to take this b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s dog life.

“Pu!” But just as Xing Jue was about to kill the Heavenly-Dragon Commander, an extremely domineering martial qi exploded against his body. Immediately a mouthful of blood spurted from his mouth, as he collapsed onto the ground.

This attack was naturally from the Soul-Devouring Succubus.

“Heh heh, Heavenly-Dragon, I would never allow you to be killed like this.” The Soul-Devouring Succubus retracted her previously raised right arm, her face as lovely as ever as she spoke towards Xing Jue’s direction.

“Many thanks, Esteemed Succubus.” After seeing that he had been saved, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander hurriedly got up, enduring the continuous pain of his arm, running to the side of the Soul-Devouring Succubus, his face filled with respect as he spoke.

“I say, Soul-Devouring Succubus, how come somebody as beautiful as you watches over this kind of hideous person? This kind of injustice is kind of hard for me to accept.” After hearing the Soul-Devouring Succubus’s words, Xing Jue already knew, that these two people were definitely in some kind of relations.h.i.+p. Obstructed by that succubus’s extremely frightening strength, Xing Jue knew that he already had no chance of escaping; therefore, with no regard or consideration for his words, he mockingly spoke.

“Don’t speak to the Esteemed Succubus so rudely!” Without waiting for the Soul-Devouring Succubus to speak, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander shouted extremely defensively.

“Oh? And why do you say that I’ve taken a fancy to him?” Contrarily, the Soul-Devouring Succubus only gave a charming smile as she asked the question.

“If that’s not the case, then why are you protecting him?” Xing Jue responded.

“Haha, do you really want to know?” The Soul-Devouring Succubus smiled as she spoke.

“Hmph. It’s because the Esteemed Succubus was released by me!” The Heavenly-Dragon Commander scrambled to speak.

“That’s right, what he says is true. However, the reason why I rescued him is not because of this.” The Soul-Devouring Succubus once again smiled as she spoke. Immediately afterwards, she turned that charming expression towards the Heavenly-Dragon Commander.

“Heavenly-Dragon, I’m very grateful for you rescuing me, and furthermore sending all those delicious souls to me. In order to fully express my thanks, I have decided to properly reward you with something.” The Soul-Devouring Succubus gently lifted her right hand, caressing the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s beard as she spoke.

“Est… Esteem… Esteemed Succubus, I have given you my unconditional loyalty and devotion. I know that all your wounds have not fully healed, but I can still help you find some martial artists with stronger souls, I beg… I beg of… you.” Regarding the Soul-Devouring Succubus’s current appearance, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander could feel something amiss, hurriedly speaking.

“My injuries are not something that can be healed overnight. Since you have such loyalty and devotion, then offer your soul to me.” The Soul-Devouring Succubus’s expression suddenly became cold, immediately kissing the Heavenly-Dragon Commander. The Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s body transformed in a similar manner to that lanky man, in the blink of an eye becoming a dried out corpse.

Towards the scene that had just played out in front of his eyes, Xing Jue’s heart could not help but be alarmed. From what he had heard of their dialogue he had already learned that this Soul-Devouring Succubus was released by the Heavenly-Dragon Commander, and furthermore that the Soul-Devouring Succubus’s body had injuries, which could only be healed by absorbing the souls of martial artists. Presumably the missing people from before had also been taken care of in the same manner by the Soul-Devouring Succubus; it also seemed that the quality of what the Soul-Devouring Succubus absorbed needed to become higher and higher over time, thus why the Heavenly-Dragon Commander would organize a group of high-ranked martial artists to enter the Death Peaks. However, this Soul-Devouring Succubus had unexpectedly also killed her rescuer, the Heavenly-Dragon Commander; regarding the Soul-Devouring Succubus’s cold-bloodedness, Xing Jue could not help but feel a great deal of fear.

“Little devil, it’s your turn.” Uncaringly throwing the Heavenly-Dragon Commander’s body to the side, and furthermore licking her lips in an unsatisfied manner, the Soul-Devouring Succubus looked towards Xing Jue, smiling as she spoke. It was just that her smiling expression was completely filled with killing intent.
