Chapter 22.1 - Male idol lives next door

When Tang Xiao woke up, Mu Cheng’s house was very lively.

Chief Ning and Xiao Lin appeared in the living room.

“You’re awake? Did you sleep well last night?” Early in the morning, Chief Ning had the expression that he’d seen through everything.

He sat like an old G.o.d in another person’s living room.

Tang Xiao had two huge black circles underneath her eyes.

She didn’t know whether it was because she wasn’t comfortable in another bed or if it was because she knew that Mu Cheng was sleeping next door, she just couldn’t sleep.

“For the sake of preventing you forgetting your keys again, Xiao Lin and I helped you copy ten sets of keys. I’ve already greeted your neighbours on your two upper and lower floors. If you forget again, you can just ask them for a set.”

Chief Ning gestured for Xiao Lin to take out the keys as she fished out a set and pa.s.sed it to her.

Tang Xiao’s eyelid was twitching.

“I don’t know them.”

“You definitely know them. Even if you don’t know them, you’ve seen them on TV before.”

Tang Xiao: ……

“Leave one here at my place too.” Mu Cheng carried out a plate of steamed dumplings.

Tang Xiao took a key off the keychain and pa.s.sed it to him.

Mu Cheng then clipped it onto his own set of keys.

Chief Ning raised a brow, his expression turning bad.

“Don’t be like this next time. It’s not good for a single man and woman to be alone.”

“Chief Ning, don’t worry …”

Chief Ning pinched his forehead.

“I think you’re misunderstanding me. I’m not worried about Tang Xiao, I’m worried for you.”

Tang Xiao: …….. There’s no need to speak the truth, truly.

“Our company recently has a new drama. The female lead’s Su Bai, she wanted me to ask if you were interested?”

Chief Ning went straight into the topic, pa.s.sing the script to Mu Cheng along the way.

Mu Cheng had just picked up a dumpling, unknowing whether or not to put it in his mouth or not.

So he could only place it on Tang Xiao’s plate.

“I only take one drama a year.”

“You haven’t taken one this year.” Chief Ning wasn’t willing to give way.

“I’ve already collaborated with Su Bai for four years. We’ve done eight films and series together. I want a new beginning.”

Mu Cheng didn’t even bother flipping through the script book.

“You know how Su Bai feels towards you. Sometimes, fans are happy to see a fake romance become a real one.”

Mu Cheng wasn’t taken by surprise by what he said. “I know more or less about how other people feel about me.”

When he said that, Tang Xiao nearly choked on her dumpling.

She sneakily lifted up her head to take a peek at Mu Cheng.

Who knew that she’d get caught.

She started to choke and cough harder.

On the other side, Chief Ning’s expression was stifled, telling himself not to explode.

“Ah …. Do I and Xiao Lin need to leave for a moment so that you guys can resolve your personal feuds and grudges?”

Tang Xiao was in between Chief Ning and Mu Cheng, she felt like she was about to get ripped into pieces.

“First, finish eating your dumplings.” Chief Ning’s face gentled.

“I’ll leave the script with you and you can look at it first. When Tang Xiao finishes eating, you can catch up on sleep. Looking at your eye circles, if I didn’t know better, I’d have thought you were wearing sungla.s.ses.”

Tang Xiao: ……

Chief Ning still seemed a bit worried so he dragged Tang xiao back to her house, and on the way, chattered incessantly too.

Tang Xiao indignantly pointed at Chief Ning, “Mu Cheng lives next door to me! How could you not have told me before?!”

Chief Ning had a good samaritan’s face on.

“You’ve only moved in half a year ago. In a month, Mu Cheng would stay half a month in his office. So you would’ve had three months time to realise. But I didn’t think that you’d actually hug onto your games and not let go. Even when the dumb husky was brought over, you were too lazy to walk it.”

Tang Xiao choked.

If there was nothing on, she really couldn’t be bothered going outside.

Furthermore, who had time to peep on who their neighbours were all the time?

“I’ll also remind you. The soundproofing between the walls isn’t great so you should definitely make sure you don’t make any loud noises. Your bedroom especially, is right next to Mu Cheng’s study.”

Tang Xiao: !!!!!!!

She’d sworn at Su Muzhe for a the whole half year she’d been here!!

Every day, it was f*** your old man, f**** your old man, she’d swear!

So did that mean Mu Cheng heard all of that?

“F***? Now you tell me???!!!!!!”

“Before ….” Chief Ning looked at her and explained, “I forgot.”

Tang Xiao: !!!!!!! Can I strangle you to death!!

After Chief Ning left, Tang Xiao howled for another half hour before considering that her next door neighbour could hear, pitifully crawled into the bathroom to reflect.

She reflected on how much she’d swore in that half year of gaming.

It seemed like … not too much, right.

It was just a bit frequent, once every ten minutes.

Sob, sob, sob, life was so tragic.

The dumb husky rested for a day, and was back to its usual self.

He ran around wildly in the room.

Tang Xiao went on her games again, searching throughout the whole game for Yellow river flows.

Her life was so tragic, so, everyone else can be tragic with her!

[World] This emperor: The players still at the Yellow Springs should take notice that Ranzhi and j.a.panese Rose are getting ready to fight the nine tailed fox. In a while, you should all leave, we won’t be responsible for any injuries.

[World] Tang poem: What’s happening?

Normally when they fought the nine tailed fox, it wasn’t this grand.

[Private] Su Muzhe to you: Little Tang poem, come here.

Tang Xiao pursed her lips but still teleported over.
