Arena Chapter 5

Chapter 5: Clear (1)

It had one head with a pair of legs and arms. 
 

It has ears, eyes, mouth, nose, and walks around on two feet. 
 

It has a bent waist, unusually long arms, and red fur covering his whole body.

“It’s an anthropoid?”

That was it.

The ident.i.ty of the red Ape was an anthropoid. It was half human and half monkey put together.

It was closer to monkey than human in appearance but the facial expressions that portrayed pain and shock was in line with human characteristics.

‘Take care of that?’

I can’t even kill a single chicken.

And it’s better if it’s an animal but that is no different from a human.

“Kiruk! Kiruruk!”

It looks like it has different thoughts than me. The angry face is filled with thoughts of killing me.

I see that there is a sharp stone in his right hand.

‘That’s a fist axe?’

Ah f.u.c.k.

It has enough intelligence to make a makes.h.i.+ft weapon.

‘If I get hit by that I die!’

f.u.c.k, I hesitated for no reason. When I succeeded in the surprise attack I should have charged and took that away first!

“Kiruruk!”

Shouting loudly the red ape threatened my life. Unconsciously shocked I took a step backwards.

This was without a doubt a mistake.

When I backed up the b.a.s.t.a.r.d gained confidence. It started to decrease the distance between us.

Fortunately the b.a.s.t.a.r.d was only about 150 cm tall and because his arms and longs were thin he didn’t look all that tough.

‘I also need a weapon …..’

I looked down for a moment to look for the rock I threw.

“Kiruk!”

When my attention was focused on something else, the red ape attacked as though he was waiting for this moment.

“f.u.c.k!”

Shocked without even me knowing I blocked it with my left arm. The fist axe pierced my upper left arm.

Bang!

"Aaaahhh!”

Screams came out automatically. The muscles in my left arm hurt like they were being ripped apart.

Tears came flowing out.

“This b.a.s.t.a.r.d!”

I also being angry, did not hesitate to attack back.

I quickly grabbed the right hand wrist where he was holding the fist axe.

I squeezed his wrist and when I did that the b.a.s.t.a.r.d screamed and dropped the fist axe.

‘Okay!’

In strength I am stronger. If it doesn't have a weapon I have the advantage….

Bang!

“Aaahhh!”

It didn't just have the fist axe.

I felt first hand that the b.a.s.t.a.r.d sharp nails also became weapons.

Thanks to my reflex I turned my head and only got a cut on my face, otherwise I would have lost an eye.

Screaming I shook my body and swung my fist to get him off my body.

The b.a.s.t.a.r.d firmly grabbed onto my body and its teeth were digging in deeper and deeper.

 The b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s canine teeth were long and sharp. It was to the point it felt like if it evolved it will become a vampire.

Struggling against the pain I fell into a panic.

I underestimated it because of its size but this wasn't a fight in my favor at all.

Compared to red ape that would have fought countless fights like this, I was a regular person who never fought before in his life.

With a pale face blood kept coming out of my bit shoulders.

‘I'll die if this continues!’

Feeling the horror I frantically looked around my surroundings.

The vines wrapped around the tree branches came into view.

I thought: that’s it!

Putting my hopes in the vines I headed over to that area.

The b.a.s.t.a.r.d who was still holding onto my body and was distracted biting my shoulders.

[Sound of drinking]

The sight of seeing the b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s throat moving made me feel disgusted and horrified.

Disgusting b.a.s.t.a.r.d!

This b.a.s.t.a.r.d was distracted my sucking up my blood. Holding the b.a.s.t.a.r.d in my left hand I unraveled the vine with my right hand.

It was only then the b.a.s.t.a.r.d realized something was wrong.

But it was too late.

I quickly wrapped his neck with the vines.

“Kiruk?!”

The red Ape had a horrified face.

I strongly tightened the vine against his throat.

“Kiruk…!”

“Die you dog piece of s.h.i.+t!”

I was in a situation where I was about to die so I crazily suffocated his throat by pulling on the vine as hard as I can.

His complexion became pale and his struggling became slowly weaker.

I wonder how much time has pa.s.sed.

The b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s eyes were flipped and there was bubbles coming out of his mouth.

It was only then I woke from the insanity of the situation and realized what I have done.

“Aaahh.”

The red Ape’s corpse was rolling as it fell on the ground. I was breathing heavily and stared at the corpse.

This is something I did?

The animal that was moving aggressively was now a cold corpse while wearing a very painful expression.

I did this.

It may be pathetic for safety and being ordinary was my motto for life but because of that lived a peaceful life.

I couldn't believe that I have this aggressive side of me.

“f.u.c.k.”

To get rid of this unpleasant feeling I summoned the slate.

-          Mission: Get rid of the red Ape. (Completed)

The changes on the slate told me that I cleared the test.

Afterwards,

Suddenly a doorway appeared. It was the test door.

[Creaking-]

I opened the door and went inside.

I am tired. I want to rest.

 

“Congratulations! Wow, you achieved an incredible score!”

The baby angel flew like a fly and played an annoying small trumpet.

Congratulations?

Do you think I feel like going along with your jokes right now?

“It’s too loud!”

I barked at him.

It was only then the baby angel stopped playing the trumpet and intently stared at me.

I pressed down the boiling anger and endured.

I don’t know if the baby angel knew about these feeling but he tapped my shoulders.

From the baby angel’s answer I didn't have anything to say.

The baby angel spoke.

“You realized that the red Ape was an anthropoid right?”

“…That’s obvious.”

The reason for trailing me and looking for a chance at attacking me was probably for hunting. And that disgusting scene of biting my shoulders and sucking my blood out…

The insanity in his eyes was due to hunger.

“If you didn't kill it candidate Kim Hyunho will have met a pathetic ending. Just like nature’s rules it was a natural fight.  Candidate Kim Hyunho in the future will need to use violence to survive.”

The information changed and I also got 11 days of break.  Basically my death was delayed 11 days.
