At 7 pm that night, the first period of night study started in Qingshui First High School. A blanket of silence fell over the school after the bell except for the pitter-patter sound of rainfall. The extremely heavy downpour was a rare occurrence and was so heavy that the droplets were no longer falling down but were pouring down like a waterfall. The school was so flooded that it practically resembled an ocean!

Even at the end of the lesson, the rain did not seem to have lessened and might have even gotten heavier. Thunder and lightning graced the sky at fixed intervals with the rain forming an endless water barrier, blurring the line where the sky met the earth. The scene was reflected in the fearful eyes of the students lining the corridors as if it was flaunting the power of nature.

While it was true that Qingshui often experienced thunderstorms, it was highly uncommon for one to experience a thunderstorm this big.

“Water hazard! It must be a water hazard! I reckon that this downpour is related to the event that occurred during lunch!” Gu Yuanlong could not help but utter as he put his hand out to feel the force of the rainfall.

“Those parallel bars are almost half covered by the rain! It looks like we might have to swim back to our hostel tonight!” Sha Guoxing exclaimed as he pointed at the bars near the basketball court.

At that point, the rainwater had almost covered the low steps of the school. Under the light, the s.h.i.+mmering pool of water had reached the thighs of normal people and the rain seemed to be becoming stronger. If the steps in the school were slightly lower, the cla.s.srooms on the first level would have been entirely flooded by now.

Heavy rainfall, cras.h.i.+ng thunder and flas.h.i.+ng lightning filled the surrounding area. No one left the school and even though there was no trace of wind, the air was very cold. In the span of one lesson, the temperature fell by a few degrees. This caused the students with fewer clothes on to s.h.i.+ver and grab their elbows with their freezing hands.

After cla.s.s, Ling Yun stayed in the cla.s.sroom and looked at the downpour with wrinkled eyebrows. He started to worry about his new Maserati and wondered if he would crash it.

At that moment, he received a message from Tang Meng. It read, “Boss, you must be worrying about your Maserati. Don’t worry, it is safe!”

Seeing the text, Ling Yun smiled and praised Tang Meng for his reliability.

Outside the cla.s.sroom, Sha Guoxing frowned and said to Gu Yuanlong, “The rain seems like an evil omen. It would be bad if they release us earlier.”

Rolling his eyes, Gu Yuanlong replied, “Early dismissal? Would that even be useful? With the rain this heavy, the buses would have stopped and we would be stuck here! In my opinion, we were lucky enough that the electricity is still running in school!”

Sha Guoxing replied with a glare, “Don’t jinx us!”

Suddenly, Gu Yuanlong became dumbstruck as he looked towards the ocean on the first floor. He pointed as he cried out, “Look! There is a woman there!”

“What?!” Sha Guoxing stared disbelievingly in the direction of Gu Yuanlong’s finger and sure enough, he saw a woman standing thigh deep in the water, holding an umbrella. With one hand holding her drenched skirt, she carefully navigated the flood.

The s.h.i.+mmering barrier of water crashed onto the raised umbrella and the force of the rain caused the woman’s right hand to wobble. Having to go against the rus.h.i.+ng current of water as well, she struggled to even take a step forward.

In such a heavy thunderstorm, the umbrella had basically lost its purpose of blocking rain and could only allow the woman to barely open her eyes to make out shapes. Her entire body was drenched and her hair was tangled and stuck on her neck and back. The white dress that she was wearing was mercilessly soaked by the water and was glued to her every curve, leaving nothing to the imagination.

“That’s weird. Which cla.s.s is this teacher teaching? Who would have the mood to supervise the self-study lesson in this weather?”

“She’s already in the building so why is she not entering the corridor?”

Gu Yuanlong thought of something and said while staring at the lady, “Lao Sha, do you dare to bet one more time with a month of socks was.h.i.+ng that this lady was looking for Ling Yun?”

Sha Guoxing rejected him without a thought, “I’m not betting with you…”

Ling Yun was absolutely unbelievable. There had already been three women who came to look for Ling Yun that afternoon and having one more was not a big deal so Sha Guoxing decides that he did not want to risk having to wash Gu Yuanlong’s smelly socks for a month.

During their conversation, the woman walks past two cla.s.srooms where she suddenly turns and scurries into the corridor on the first floor, disappearing from their view.

“Wait, let me go get Ling Yun!” Upon not seeing the lady, Gu Yuanlong casually tossed a comment to Sha Guoxing and left for the cla.s.srooms.

Sha Guoxing shouts to his retreating figure, “If you guess wrongly, be careful that Ling Yun will beat you up!”

With a wave of his hand, Gu Yuanlong replied, “No worries!”

He reached the cla.s.sroom and hollered at Ling Yun who was sitting at the end of the room. “Brother Ling, there is a female outside looking for you. Come and welcome her!”

Gu Yuanlong was usually cunning and with Ling Yun having such excellent behavior, it was no wonder that he was using every opportunity to get close to Ling Yun.

To be honest, it was very daring of Gu Yuanlong. He was able to see that Ling Yun was in a good mood today and would not lose his temper should Gu Yuanlong have made a mistake. Even though his voice was not loud but everyone in cla.s.s heard what he said clearly. Momentarily, everyone looked at each other.

Was another woman here looking for Ling Yun? Would this ever end?

Both Cao Shanshan and Zhang Ling who were present looked at each other, bewildered and speechless. Cao Shanshan blanked out for a moment before draping herself across the table like a deflated balloon. She had thought that her nightmare was over but there was yet another woman looking for Ling Yun even during such a heavy thunderstorm! It was the fourth one!

Gu Yuanlong had underestimated everything. He did not realize that if he admitted to his false report, Cao Shanshan and Zhang Ling would strangle him alive even if Ling Yun did not do anything to him.

Who else could be looking for me? Standing up, Ling Yun pondered about the ident.i.ty of the mysterious woman and his mind drew a blank. He then nodded his head and left the room.

Walking outside towards the stairs and not seeing anyone, he turned back to look at Gu Yuanlong and said, “Where is she?” His tone became slightly more offensive. Did Gu Yuanlong not know where he stood in the school hierarchy and still dared to offend him?

Seeing the look on Ling Yun’s face, Gu Yuanlong knew of his mistake and hurriedly pasted a smile on his face as he said, “Brother Ling, I was just thinking…”

Just as he was about to say that it was a joke, he saw the drenched woman hobble up the stairs holding an umbrella in her hand. Gu Yuanlong lifted his finger to point behind Ling Yun’s back.

“I see that you still trying to trick me and have forgotten your place. Let’s see if I will throw you in the water to take a bath!” Ling Yun heard footsteps behind him but he did not turn back and reached forward to grab Gu Yuanlong’s collar while threatening him.

“h.e.l.lo, may I ask if Ling Yun is around?” A voice called out from behind Ling Yun with chattering teeth.

Ling Yun whirled around.

“You?!” Ling Yun exclaimed as his jaw dropped.

The woman was not a stranger but was in fact, the gorgeous lady that Ling Yun had saved at the place of the accident. She was none other than the beauty of Qingshui, Zhuang Meifeng. She put down her skirt and her body was dripping with so much water that she looked like she just came out of a pool. Her white top was entirely translucent and clung to her pet.i.te frame. This was the famous ‘belle of Qingshui’!

She was so cold that her lips turned purple and with a s.h.i.+vering body, she grabbed her left arm with her right hand. Along with her lovely face, the scene was heart-wrenching to all those that were present.

Zhuang Meifeng’s snow white skin was covered with water droplets and her translucent dress was stuck to her curves, showing off her perfect peach-shaped chest, slender waist and her long and toned legs for everyone to see. Even the area near her lower belly and legs was slightly shown which radiated an aura of mystery and seduction.

“Wow! That is one beautiful girl!”

“Hmm, another one who came in such bad weather!”

“This girl can be compared to the pretty policewoman!”

“Hmm, she is really here for Ling Yun. He is very charming these days!”

“Sh*t, this is absolute insanity!”

Cao Shanshan and Zhang Ling were unable to overcome their curiosity and upon hearing that a beauty was here looking for Ling Yun, they could not help but to sprint out of cla.s.s to find out the ident.i.ty of the person. Cao Shanshan was once again worried by what she saw.

Gosh, this was another gorgeous lady! Even if she was to reach her age and mature slightly, she might not be able to surpa.s.s the woman’s looks. “It’s the fourth one…” Zhang Ling mumbled as she laid her eyes on Zhuang Meifeng.

Zhang Ling was slightly better off than Cao Shanshan as she was more aware of the level of her appearance after spending so much time with Cao Shanshan. Obviously, she would not immerse into compet.i.tive thoughts with such beautiful people and would not feel too bad about herself.

Without any regards to the reaction of the ma.s.ses, Ling Yun pulled Zhuang Meifeng to the side and questioned, “Why would you come in such weather? Why didn’t you wait until the sun was out?”

“You…You’re Ling Yun?!” Zhuang Meifeng stuttered while staring at Ling Yun warily.

She paled and her expression turned frantic as if she had heard something horrifying.

“If it’s not me then who would it be? First, tell me what happened?” Ling Yun said in a hurry as he wanted to warm her up as quickly as possible to prevent her from catching a cold.

Due to the cold, she wrapped her arms around herself which made her b.r.e.a.s.t.s look bigger. However, she paid no heed to the perverted eyes looking at her. Instead, she said fearfully, “Can we go somewhere else to talk?”
