Chapter 270: Holy Son and Holy Daughter

In a place on a mountain top, a male clad in purple sat on a chair and looked lazily at the ring on his finger.

A Fire Qilin sat sat on the imperial consort chair, looked at him and said, "You're not thinking about that person again, are you?"

"That's right, why can't I?" Wu Lingyu turned the ring on his finger. This interspatial ring was quite similar to Sima You Yue's illusion ring. It looked like it was a pair with the one he had given her back then.

"I can't understand it." Fire Qilin raised his head, "Holy Daughter has specifically come back for your sake, but you keep disappearing. It's been so many years, yet the number of times you've met her can be counted on one hand. However, I can't even count how many times you've looked at that ring on your finger."

Wu Lingyu arrived outside his loft and happened to see the Holy Daughter of the Sage Pavilion. When he saw her, he started to make himself appear quite weak.

"Lingyu, where have you been?"

Wu Lingyu acted as if he had just noticed her and his face revealed a trace of surprise. He smiled faintly, saying, "Oh, it's Wei Wei. I'm a bit unwell so I wanted to go look for Master to take a look."

"You're unwell again? Why don't I take you there?" Bai Wei Wei looked at him with worry.

"No need. I have Qilin with me, there's no need to trouble you. The palace master is in closed door cultivation. Now that I want to head back, this Sage Pavilion will require you to stay and take care of it." Wu Lingyu tactfully declined.

"But will you be able to go in this state?" Bai Wei Wei wanted to go and support him, but he avoided her by retreating two steps.

"Nothing will happen to me as long as Qilin is around." Wu Lingyu leaned on the Qilin's back.

Although Fire Qilin disdained him, he still played along with him. He supported him and said to Bai Wei Wei, "Holy Daughter doesn't need to worry about him, I will take him back."

"I will." Fire Qilin turned back into his original form and let Wu Lingyu sit on him.

Fire Qilin carried him and, with a whoosh, rose up into the sky, leaving the palace behind.

Once they were very far from the palace, Wu Lingyu recovered to his original countenance and sat on Qilin's back. With two hands placed behind his head, he appeared extremely satisfied.

"Aren't you heading to the Yilin Continent? What am I still running for!" Fire Qilin stopped running.

"We're going, but before that, we're going to take a look at Master. He said before that he wants to walk around the Yilin continent, so I might as well take him with me." Wu Lingyu said.

"What's good to do over at that place." Fire Qilin said, "Could your Master be thinking of looking for someone?"

"Nope, he's looking for an ingredient. It's said to only be found on the Yilin continent." Wu Lingyu said.

"Don't you know it as well? Why doesn't he just let you bring it?" Fire Qilin didn't understand.

"Who knows what goes on in that old man's head!" Wu Lingyu said, "That old man is so weird, who knows, he may really just want to go and walk around!"

"Okay then, you master-and-disciple duo are both weird!" Fire Qilin started increasing his speed once he finished speaking, and quickly left the Sage Pavilion far behind.

They came to an abandoned mountain, and Wu Lingyu took out a uni-directional teleportation array. He threw it on the ground after activating it, and waited until the teleportation array flashed with light before walking in. He very quickly disappeared into nowhere.

Not long after they disappeared, Bai Wei Wei roade a snow white spirit beast and followed.

"Master, their aura disappears here." Spirit Beast said when he arrived at the mountain valley.

Bei Wei Wei hopped off the Spirit Beast and said while looking at the teleportation stone on the ground, "This is Wu Lingyu's teleportation stone that he uses to head back. It's a pity that the array on it disappears once it's been used, and we can't determine which part of the valley he's at."

"Master…" Spirit Beast saw that she was a bit disappointed and wanted to console her.

"It's okay, at the very least we have ascertained that he has really gone back and has not gone outside to look for other women." Bai Wei Wei said with a smile, "Lingyu can only be mine. Whoever dares to s.n.a.t.c.h him from me…"

"Who would go and touch a stone?" When Fire Qilin heard what he said, he knew that Lingyu would put a bit of his consciousness onto the stone and was certain someone had touched it.

"Bai Wei Wei." Wu Lingyu said, "It was so hard for us to change Holy Daughters, and initially thought she was better. I never expected her to be the same."

"Although that sticky person was a bit hateful, she was at least honest. This one is dripping with pretentiousness." Fire Qilin criticised without holding back.

"That's right. It's still Yue Yue who's the most honest. She's not fake at all." Wu Lingyu said.

Fire Qilin rolled his eyes. He linked her to everything that was good, he really was beyond hope!

Wu Lingyu came under a ginko tree and threw a few array stones in. The entire mountain changed in appearance, as if it was an entirely different place.

He walked in and waved his hands after, and those stones flew back into his hand. The valley turned back into its original appearance.

"Old man, I'm back." He called inside, once he came to a gra.s.s house.

And old yet clear-cut voice sounded from inside the house, "I know that you have returned, you brat. Come over, I just happened to have created something that can nourish your soul through much research!"

Wu Lingyu was speechless. Things were always this way whenever he came. So many years had pa.s.sed, but this old man refused to give up.

He did not enter but stood at the door instead, saying, "Old man, I'm going to the Yilin continent. Didn't you say you wanted to go? Let's go!"

A highly capable old man came out from inside the house. He immediately grabbed his hand and dragged him into the house, saying, "We can only go once you've soaked in this. I spent a lot of effort on this, don't waste it!"
