Nuptial Chamber Next Door Chapter 20

Three years later

Ye Zhengchen looked at the sidewalk. His fingers tightened around the steering wheel, as if trying to control some impulse

In the last twenty years, Zheng Wei had seen Ye Zhengchen always surrounded by women. But he had never seen him look at a woman like this

Following his gaze, Zheng Wei looked at the woman. She looked slightly sad. She had almost no makeup on and her expression was three parts gaunt and seven parts angry.

 

If he didn't remember incorrectly, this woman was Bo Bing, Ye Zhengchen's first love and to be exact, his first girlfriend.

Zheng Wei clearly remembered a spring three years ago

He was immersed in a critical moment when Ye Zhengchen called him. He didn't even ask if he was busy.

"I am in _ hotel, the private room. Come and drink with me.."

Zheng Wei could not help but curse him in his heart

After a few words, he bid goodbye to the beauty in front of the hotel and drove all the way to the hotel where Ye Zhengchen was in the other side of the town

He couldn't even remember clearly, but he must have skipped a few traffic lights and speeded above limits to reach the hotel

Apart from Ye Zhengchen, there were a few of their childhood friends in the room

Everyone was seated.Only the seat next to Ye Zhengchen was empty

The food had been served, but everyone seemed to have been waiting for him before they started to eat

As soon as Zheng Wei saw Ye Zhengchen, his anger returned. He punched him hard im his shoulder , using almost ninety percent of his strength but Ye Zhengchen didn't even flinch

After punching him, he said, " How dare you come back!"

Ye Zhengchen laughed silently. He was long accustomed to this type of welcome treatment

Zheng Wei and Ye Zhengchen had known each other since childhood, They both grew up in the same compound, fought together, stole their first p.o.r.n magazine together, stole the gun together – of course, when found out, they were both thrashed together.

In short, apart from sharing a wife, they had shared almost everything else in life

A year after he graduated from college, Ye Zhengchen suddenly said that his old man had agreed to allow him to continue higher studies in medicine. Since then, his whereabouts were unknown and his phone was always switched off.

Since the, Zheng Wei had developed the habit of keeping his own phone on and within reach twenty four-seven

So that Ye Zhengchen could contact him anytime

And this person had no character whatsoever. Whenever he contacted him, he had not bothered to ask him how he was. All he would say was , " I have come back. I've arranged a good place to drink. You are not allowed to go back till you are completely drunk!"

Of course Zheng Wei cursed him to the moons. But he still had an important job to do . And that was to find an authentic Sichuan restaurant where Ye Zhengchen would want to go to eat after he was drunk

Today was the same

After Zheng Wei sat down, Ye Zhengchen drank three gla.s.ses without break. But he seemed to be in a despondent mood.

" How is it that you are suddenly so free today and decided to come out with us?" Zheng Wei asked.

"Don't say that. Brother Wu did not invite me to his wedding. I gave him a chance to treat me to make up for the miss"

" You dare to say that?  We tried to call you for almost six months but your phone was never switched on", Brother Wu interjected, " I am now waiting for the gift"

"Gift?" Ye Zhengchen immediately understood the hint

" What do you want?"

Brother Wu's eyes lit up. " Give me your license plate."

Everyone was amazed. This license plate was something money could not buy. Forget the other advantages, no traffic cop in the whole of china would ever dare to stop a car with this licence plate.

"Ok", Ye Zhengchen said magnanimously, " just take my car and it will save me all the process ha.s.sles."

" I'm not going to politely decline"

Zheng Wei took the opportunity to say, " How about you pay my gift upfront as well in case we can't find you again when I am getting married?"

Ye Zhengchen stared coldly stared at him, " If you can't find me, don't get married, Tie the knot only once I am around."

Zheng Wei was silent. They were both childhood friend, why was the treatment so starkly different?

Less than an hour later, they had managed to demolish quite a few bottles of wine.

Everyone was a bit drunk, and were talking about various things

Ye Zhengchen was a bit absent minded and kept glancing at his watch from time to time.

" Are you in a hurry?" Zheng Wei asked

" No", he put down his wrist and started eating

Once he had eaten a little bit, he pushed the bowl aside, He seemed to have no appet.i.te

Zheng Wei studied his friend. Today, he was acting a bit strangely. Suddenly, his eyes fell on the wallet in his pocket. Only the edge was exposed. It was an old wallet, the leather edge was wrinkled and the corner was a bit bleached.

This wallet was the one Zheng Wei had presented to Ye Zhengchen when he was admitted to the medical school

That was almost seven years ago.

For some one like Ye Zhengchen, using the same wallet for seven years was nothing short of a miracle.

He took the wallet from Ye Zhengchen's pocket and looked at it.

Accidentally, Zheng Wei realised that the wallet had the photo of a girl.

The girl was standing sideways on a bridge, staring at the distant mountains and the plains decorated with the dazzling colours of fall. Her brown curls were slightly lifted by the wind and her eyes were as clear as water..

Zheng Wei really liked the woman and looked closely at her body

She was wearing a wraparound skirt with a beige windbreaker. The wind had flattened her clothes against her body, clearly revealing the beautiful curves. Her legs were clad in black stockings which highlighted the slender legs.

Looking at the lovely body, Zheng Wei was enchanted. She was quite a beauty and seemed to have an elusive charm

" This chick is beautiful! You must introduce her to me!"

Once he saw a beauty, his tone unconsciously picked up a flirtatious tone.

" Scram!" Ye Zhengchen grabbed the photo from his hand, stuffed it into his wallet and put it back in his pocket, " She is my girlfriend"

The warm, chatty atmosphere of the table suddenly became silent.

Miumiu : I know! I know! This chapter is a bit random and even the author acknowledges that its a bit difficult to understand.
