Chapter 414: Hanging by a Thread

Translator: _Tat_ Editor: Fish_Creek

The setting Sun was bright like blood as the light rays bounced off the battle grounds – adding to the eeriness and cruelty of war.

However, under such a horrifying environment, there was an area of tranquility.

It was where Ling Xian was.

All the cultivators seemed to be purposely avoiding him. Or in other words, were all afraid to be slain by him and were too afraid to even get close. As a result, the entire area was quiet and silent, as if it was a holy ground of peace and relaxation, as if there was no blood and no killing.

The completion levelled cultivators suspending in the sky were too terrified to descend after being whiplashed by Ling Xian. It was as if the silhouette in white was a horrifying demon and that if they went greet him, they cannot come back down.

This was why this interesting scenery was created.

No matter how much rage was going on and how much metals were colliding into each other, Ling Xian remained unmoving in his lotus position. He was not at all affected by the killing around him.

Before him, the eight array boards were starting to emit milky white light. The dim carvings on them were beginning to connect in slow speed. Before long, the Heavenly Array of Nine Dragons will once again emerge and dominate!

It was a pity though. The speed of what was happening was a little slow. At least the reparation of the array boards, compared to the rate the war was going, was extremely slow.

What could he do? The realm of the Heavenly Array of Nine Dragons were far too high. Especially because he had to repair eight of them, even with the help of the Dawn of Life, he cannot bring back all arrays to 30 percent their original state in a short amount of time.

"Aye, the situation is worsening. I'm afraid I won' make it." Ling Xian sighed and s.h.i.+fted his gaze to the war in the sky.

The war was intensifying between the eight completion levelled powerhouses and the group of cultivators of the Bai Clan. Though they were giving it all, in the end, they were three completion levelled cultivators short and were at a disadvantage. All they could do was trying their best to defend but they could not counter attack.

This scene made Ling Xian's heart drop. But he couldn't hop in and help.

Just like how the Second Elder couldn't get past the barrier brought on by the O Yang Clan, Ling Xian could not step away from the array boards after summoning the Dawn of Life. If he could, he wouldn't be sparing the invaders' lives.

"It appears that the O Yang descendants will die before the array is repaired. If that happens, then what is the meaning of me fixing the array?" Ling Xian frowned and began to strategize.

As he thought about it, a descendant of the O Yang Clan dashed upwards towards him.

It was a middle-aged man with a pale face. When he realized Ling Xian looked deep in thought, he thought it would be a great opportunity to kill him. Thus, he appeared like a ghost behind him.

In the next second, a hand knife appeared and sliced across Ling Xian's neck.

As the knife glided across, the middle-aged man appeared very confident and c.o.c.ky about ending this demon's life. It was a fact that Ling Xian had defeated seven to eight completion levelled cultivators and thus, had a glorious record. If he could kill this demon, then it would be a great achievement.

Sadly, why would Ling Xian let him have this?

"Hmmph!"

After a thunderous clash, Ling Xian's lips curled into a sarcastic smile, "If you weren't so close to me, I would only be able to knock you out but I cannot kill you. Since you voluntarily approached me, then I won't be kind to you."

He then began to exude a gold light that lit up for miles like an eternal Sun!

In an instant, the knife began to crack before turning into dust.

The middle-aged man was stunned immediately. The c.o.c.ky smile on his face quickly melted into fear.

"Enjoy h.e.l.l."

The Golden Dan in Ling Xian's body began to quiver. It then shot out an extraordinary amount of power that collapsed onto the middle-aged man.

Retch!

After puking out a mouthful of fresh blood, all the meridians in the man's body ripped apart. He softly fell to the ground. His wide open eyes displayed how much fear he felt.

"A completion levelled cultivator in the beginning stages dares to stand so close to me. He sure did not fear death." Ling Xian glared at him emotionlessly. There was nothing of arrogance in his eyes.

The surrounding cultivators did not react much neither. Under a normal circ.u.mstance, if a completion levelled cultivator died before them, they would be screaming with shock. But today, this was considered normal.

What could they do? Ling Xian was far too heaven defying. He had already beat the c.r.a.p out of the seven to eight completion levelled cultivators. However, the death of this man meant one less teammate.

This was why the O Yang descendants were overjoyed by this. They moved more aggressively against their opponents.

"Seems like I helped out. However, the key to winning this war is up to them, and up to the array." Ling Xian frowned and continued to summon the Dawn of Life. He attempted to repair the array before all the O Yang warriors fell.

As he put in his maximum effort, the situation in the sky worsened.

Though the O Yang descendants were fighting to their deaths, they found it hard to defend against the invaders. To have lasted so long was already a miracle. If they didn't have firm determination and a pillar to lean on, they would've all be dead by now.

Now, they were finally reaching their limit. After the Second Elder killed another one of their descendants, they were very much in danger!

"Haha, kill them all!"

The Second Elder bellowed loudly and continued to kill the descendants.

"Dammit, Master Xian, please hurry!" Leader O Yang was panicking. Straining himself, he continued his war.

The result however, was not up to his expectation. He was instantly pushed out by the Second Elder!

The descendants all puked out blood and fell to the ground. Two people died immediately.

This shocked everyone. All the descendants of the O Yang Clan were devastated and were close to giving up.

It was obvious, the O Yang Clan lost that last reb.u.t.tal but they had no strength to fight back. The meaning behind this was that the status of today's war had been set. The O Yang Clan was about to be exterminated!

This moment, the entire O Yang Clan fell into hopelessness. They all fell to the ground and gave up on defending.

"Haha, old man O Yang. I sure want to see what else you can use to fight against me!" The Second Elder laughed out loudly. He then descended onto the ground and then slowly raised a hand.

Immediately, the sky darkened and the clouds tossed and turned!

"Go to h.e.l.l!" The Second Elder was very proud of himself. His right hand turned into a hand seal that carried the strength to destroy everything within 3000 miles.

If he slamed down, everyone will turn into dust!

"Seems like the array is not going to be repaired…."

Everyone's mind flashed with that thought before they closed their eyes hopelessly and waited for death.

As they utterly gave up, a calm but presumptuously voice rose up, loud as thunder!

"If you want to kill them, you have to ask for my permission."
