"Unfilial son!"

The voice of Su Cheng An thundered throug the hall.

"Unfilial son! You actually lied to me!"

Pa! Su Cheng An slapped his son's face.

"What are you doing?" Tang Hong Rui rushed over to protect her son.

"You are still protecting him?!" Su Cheng An's body trembled in anger, he pointed at Su Chen, "This unfilial son dared to lie to his father, his eyes had never recovered."

"So?" Tang Hong Rui replied bluntly:,"The reason Chen'er had to do this was because you planned to support your brother's suggestion for a reform.”

"I was doing this for the good of the family."

"It is for the good of your Fourth Concubine to be exact," Tang Hong Rui stared coldly at Su Cheng An.

From the moment Su Cheng An started accepting the Second Concubine, his relations.h.i.+p with Tang Hong Rui had been plummeting; when Yan Wu Shuang joined, the husband and wife's relations.h.i.+p had reached a new low.

Su Cheng An paused for a moment before replying angrily, "I wanted to have another child but you are worried it will be disadvantageous to Chen'er and was unwilling, do you think I have any other choice?"

"Bulls.h.i.+t!" Tang Hong Rui spat at her husband, "To bear a child, do you need to accept three concubines? It is obvious that you are blinded by l.u.s.t!"

Su Cheng An flushed and said, "As the heir of a large family, having more descendants is natural and just. Chen'er lost his sight; his future is fated to be bleak, as the future family patriarch, I have to nurture an outstanding successor, don't you understand this reasoning?"

His words weren't wrong.

The tradition belief of large family clans is the more descendants, the more blessed. The reason behind this was simple, with more descendants, even if most of them failed to live up to expectations, all you needed was just one who does succeed and it would lead the family to prosperity.

"When did I abandon him?" Su Cheng An felt wronged again. He only slapped his son once? Su Chen finally said: "Father, can you tell me, have I done anything wrong?"

Su Cheng An went silent.

After a long while, he replied, "You did nothing wrong, you have always been a great child."

"Then why is it that I am unable to obtain support despite working so hard, instead, it becomes like this?" Su Chen asked again.

Su Cheng An replied, "Striving for improvement is not a crime, it just happens to be blocking the paths of other."

Su Family made a reform - After Su Chen's lie was exposed.

However, the change wasn't big, the year-end evaluation continued to test the current strength of partic.i.p.ants as the main method of evaluation, however, there was an additional right to challenge.

After the number one was announced, the person would be required to accept a challenge; the challenger will be chosen from the heirs that have lost, the challenge was only one round with no weapons allowed.
