Chapter 6: Genius Child

Little Xi only knew about the natural disaster which caused a lot of hurt, so he a.s.sumed his G.o.dmother was accusing him of hurting people too . “Mommy, what does Auntie mean? Am I a bad person?”

Tang Siyu quickly comforted him, “Of course not, baby!”

She glared at Su Xi and said, “Don’t you dare corrupt my son . ”

Su Xi could only smile sheepishly as she explained, “Little Xi, what I meant by the disaster was nothing bad . It’s just that when you grow up, you will become so handsome that you’ll have millions of girls chasing after your heart . ”

“Eh, but I don’t need anyone except mommy to love me!” He whined .

The boy’s reactions were so cute, Su Xi couldn’t help but tease him so she pouted and questioned pitifully, “Little Xi, does that mean you don’t want me either?”

Xiaoxi gasped in fear, he didn’t mean to hurt his G.o.dmother at all! He hastily wrapped his small arms around her neck and said, “No, I want Auntie Xi too!”

Su Xi giggled and replied, “Auntie wants Little Xi too!”

While the G.o.dmother and the little boy played around happily, Tang Siyu went to the kitchen to cook lunch for Su Xi . A few moments later, Su Xi entered the kitchen to talk to Tang Siyu in private .

 

Meanwhile, Xiaoxi surfed through the TV channels, looking for his favorite one . Suddenly, an advertis.e.m.e.nt on the Little Children Channel caught his attention . The host declared in a loud voice, “Our stage is waiting for you to display your talent! We are looking for the most talented kid in the world . So if your child is four years old and is skilled at something, call us at the number below!”

Little Xi memorized the phone number and jotted it down on the paper lying next to the table . He picked up the landline and called the program .

A sweet voice answered the phone, “This is the Little Children Channel, how may I help you?”

“H-h.e.l.lo Auntie, my name is Tang Xiaoxi! I wanted to take part in your show . ”

“h.e.l.lo dear! Can you please tell this Auntie your age?”

“Yes! I’m four years old and I’m at level 6 in Piano . Can I please attend your show?”

“Eh… You’re just four years old, yet you’re at the sixth level? We’d love to have you on our show! Can you get your parents to talk to us?”

Little Xi looked up and noticed Su Xi towering over him with her arms crossed . She had heard about the compet.i.tion before but didn’t think the boy would be interested in it .

Xiaoxi was afraid his mother would refuse him, so he immediately called out to Su Xi, “Mommy, the Auntie from the TV wants to talk to you!”

Su Xi was caught by surprise but quickly snapped out of it . She took the receiver from the Little Xi and answered the lady, “h.e.l.lo!”

“h.e.l.lo ma’am, are you Tang Xiaoxi’s mother?”

“Uh… yes, I am . ”

“Your child is only four, is he really at level six in piano?”

“Yes, my son is very talented . ”

“Wonderful! Then please bring him over to our TV station . We would love to have him on our show . ”

“Thank you so much! When should I come?”

“Our deadline for registration is until 12 o’clock tonight . ”

“Alright, I’ll bring him in the afternoon . ” After she was done talking, she places the phone down and asked him seriously, “Kid, are you a hundred percent sure you want to partic.i.p.ate?”

Little Xi nodded his head fiercely . “I do, I do!”

Su Xi couldn’t believe it so she asked Little Xi, “Hey, are you really at the sixth level? Even your mother is only at the eighth level . ”

Right at that moment, Tang Siyu walked out of the kitchen with a tray of food in her hands . “Don’t let his cute, innocent image fool you . He truly is that talented . ”

“Oh, what a precious child! Alright, it’s decided, this G.o.dmother will take you to register for the show this afternoon . ” Su Xi declared in admiration .

Tang Siyu was spooked at the very thought of it, “No way! Can you, for once, consider your popularity? If you take him, it would cause chaos at the TV station . I’ll take him . ”

Xiaoxi was pleasantly surprised, he never thought she’d agree to it so easily . So he cheered loudly and grinned, “Yes! Mommy isn’t mad at me . ”
