Chapter 65: High Level Thousand Bladed Arrows

After eating dinner, it was eight in the evening when I logged on.

The Forgotten Valley was much more peaceful at this time.  I looked at the forums when I logged on and found that many players had already found the Forgotten Valley, this Dark Army territory map.  The part that exploded the most was that there was no sin value for PKing in the Dark Army's territory, this clearly opened a place for players to kill each other over grudges.

In the Forgotten Valley, three ranked magicians were killed together and the seven a.s.sa.s.sins the Fated Guild sent were all killed, which made all the Spirit of Grief players shocked and became the talk of the town.  I became a legend of Sunset City and when any player mentioned the ID “Easily Angered Bookworm”, there would be someone who would exclaim, “It's that broken person who walked a thousand miles alone and killed countless masters coming after his red name!”

Actually, since I entered the Forgotten Valley, I did not kill that many people.  Being able to kill the seven a.s.sa.s.sins from Fated was because six of them were under level 30 and they didn't have great equipment.  If they were seven level 30 and above a.s.sa.s.sins, it wouldn't have been as easy for me! As for Killing Intent from the Crotch and the other mages I killed after, it was very clear that they did not place me in their eyes in the first place.  If they kept using sneak attacks, I would have fallen in two hits!

In this kind of matter, whoever attacks first has the advantage.  At least one cannot lose to the enemy in att.i.tude, otherwise if one acts pa.s.sively, they will fall in the Forgotten Valley!

After logging on, I appeared on the corroded ground of the Forgotten Valley.  In the distance, there was a group of gla.s.sy eyed demonified skeletons letting out low groans as they held their swords, looking for targets to attack.

The levels of the monsters in the Forgotten Valley were not low, so I immediately looked at their stats.

Defense: 250

HP: 7500

Attack Type: Tearing, there is a chance of making the target bleed without stop.

Raising the Star Chasing Bow, I directly sent out an Armour Piercing Arrow.  Instantly with a “peng” sound, the Demonified Skeleton had a 1546 damage figure appear above its head.  It was still considered fine, at least with its defense, my Star Chasing Bow could break through most of its defenses still.

After being hit, the skeleton groaned as it charged at me, but it's a pity that it was slow, now even being as fast as a normal player.  As an archer, with my stats, my move speed was 10% higher than normal players, so my full speed sprint was faster than the skeletons!

So, with a faint smile, I looked at the small mountain behind the skeleton.  There were many monsters walking around it, which I could take care of together!

Without saying another word, I immediately pulled out a red potion which I used and locked onto skeletons to attack.  I charged into the group of monsters and moved through the Demonified Skeletons as fast as the wind, attracting the attention of one skeleton after the other.

In less than five minutes, when I ran out of the group, there was a large group of Demonified Skeletons behind me.  They were all gathered together, perfect for me to use the Thousand Bladed Arrows against them!

“Shua~!”

The rainbow coloured light fell down and the light turned into a rain of arrow that fell onto the skeletons.  Countless damage figures appeared above the head of the skeletons and at the same time, I heard a notification sound in my ear.

“Ding~!”

System Notification: Congratulations, your skill Thousand Bladed Arrows has reached high level and its might has increased by 50%!

I was filled with joy, almost breaking out in number at that 50%.  He knew that increasing his skill to high level would increase its power, but he never thought that it would actually be 50%!

Thinking of this, I immediately used the Thousand Bladed Arrow again, but this time it was the high level Thousand Bladed Arrows!

“Shua~!”

The moment the Thousand Bladed Arrows flew out, my body released a gold light that shocked me.  Using a high level skill actually had this kind of effect!

At the same time, countless damage figures appeared above the heads of the Demonified Skeletons.  They were all above 800 and there were even some fatal blows. There were some that were as high as 2044, taking off a large chunk of the long HP bar!

The Thousand Bladed Arrows having this kind of power filled me with joy.  It seemed like I could happily level in the Forgotten Valley and also take off my red name!

In less than a few minutes, a large group of Demonified Skeletons fell, dropping silver coins, potions, and other things.  When the final skeleton fell, I finally began to clean up the battlefield. Picking up the silver coins was annoying and it took a while to finish it, but I obtained a total of a hundred gold coins and several Dark Iron Equipment.

I smiled as I accepted them all!

When I looked forward, I found that I had not noticed that there was a ruined tower in the Forgotten Valley which was on the mountain in front of me.  When I stepped onto this map, I received a notification. The tower was named the Forgotten Tower and the winding path up was around a hundred meters, reaching a very high place with the tower at the peak!

It seemed like this place was definitely hiding a secret!

On the road, there were Demonified Skeletons all around, looking very scary.  Of course, in my eyes, they were nothing more than walking experience points.

Then, I'll start cleaning my way up!  It seemed like there was something inside the tower, so perhaps there was a quest inside!

So, I pulled in a group of Demonified Skeletons.  With the increase in strength to the Thousand Bladed Arrows, I began to kill them much faster and I saved quite a few potions.  Although the consumption of the high level Thousand Bladed Arrows was 120 MP, with how terrifying the attack power was, it was very cost effective.  Not to mention that these Demonified Skeletons also dropped potions and with the potions I had brought along, it wasn't any problem to become a white name again.

When I was killing the monsters, I received a message which came from Purple Rhyme.

“Bookworm, are you safe in Forgotten Valley?  Do you want me, Ghost Fire, and Heavenly Punisher to bring people to protect you?”

I revealed a faint smile.  Being cared for by others really wasn't bad, so I replied, “No need, just be a.s.sured and go level!  Get your Job Change soon. I'm fine here, there aren't any players that can reach this place…..”

“Un, alright, then I can be a.s.sured.  I hope you have fun playing!”

Purple Rhyme sent a smiley emoticon and then said nothing else.

When I stopped for a bit, I thought it over.  The Demonified Skeletons were normal monsters and I could kill them very fast.   The Demonified Skeletons under the mountain killed by me half an hour ago should have resp.a.w.ned and although these level 45 skeletons didn't mean anything to me, they were quite dangerous for normal players.

a.s.sa.s.sins under level 40 could not use stealth in front of these level 45 Demonified Skeletons, so I didn't really need to be worried about being ambushed by a.s.sa.s.sins here.  As for the other players, to attack me, they had to fight their way through large amounts of Demonified Skeletons. At this moment, I had the high position and could see them early, so there's also no need to worry.

Opening the level rankings, after being chased down for a daw, my rank had fallen down to 16th place.  At this time, the world's first ranked players was level 43 and in the Chinese server, Ling Yue was first at level 42.  I was currently fifth at level 40 and in front of me was Ghost Fire at level 42 who was second, Battle Soul Defying Heaven at level 41 who was third, and Battle Soul Iron Wing at level 40 who was third.  Behind me, our studio's Bing Cha and Quiet Rain Fall had fallen out of the top ten and were replaced by several new players.

It seemed like the compet.i.tion in Sunset City was already picking up!

Looking at my friends list, I was surprised to find that Ling Xue was not on and I didn't know what she was doing.

When I was considering this, I heard a prompt: Your friend “Gentle Breeze Flying Snow” has logged on!

Without even time to react, Ling Xue sent a long range party request to me.  I was a bit surprised, but I accepted the request and opened the map. I found that Ling Xue's small orange dot was moving from Sunset City to the Forgotten Valley.
