Inside a s.p.a.cious lounge, the other men were flirting with beauties in their embrace. In the midst of flirtatious exchanges, Huo Yunting was there—alone, on the crimson sofa, with a gla.s.s of wine dancing in his grip as he occasionally sipped.

The colorful disco lights shone upon his stony expression. He seemed as if he never belonged here.

Huo Yunting: the handsome, the great, the playboy, the beast in bed, the prince in bar, was seemingly not himself tonight. He looked moody— extremely moody.

Huo Yunting’s homie, Mu Xuan, shot a glance at Huo Li who was going to take his seat after a brief karaoke session. He had no b.a.l.l.s to ask the beast anything. Huo Yunting then drank the entire gla.s.s of wine in one go. A s.e.xily-dressed girl came to fill up his gla.s.s right away, as efficient as the hostess she was. Huo’s soulless eyes gazed at the pale scarlet liquid in the gla.s.s, as the sound of it streaming somehow rang like that chatterbox he married.

Despite the annoyance, that chatterbox had yet transformed into the woman he knew who always liked to act tough despite the humiliation she got, pulling off that I-am-very-fine, irritating gesture of hers.

His cheeks were twitching in fury, as he lifted the gla.s.s to his lips.

“Master Huo, allow me…”

The hostess whispered in his ear as she collapsed into his embrace, with that giant pair of maternal cus.h.i.+ons going to rest and an excitement in her eyes upon him.

“F*ck off.” He pushed her away and got up from the sofa, leaving the gla.s.s on the table.

“Aw… Master Huo…” She collapsed onto the sofa, like a maiden on her first night, as she reached her hand out. “Would you be that gentleman and give poor little me a hand?”

And Huo walked away with a flip of his coat.

He got into his Royce, turned on the engine and stomped upon the pedal as the Royce zoomed into the busy road.

He made his way back to Thunderbolt Corp., where only a single window was brightly lit by then.

He peeked at the clock in his car.

It was already 3 a.m.

“I knew it…” He whispered, “I knew she would be still working.”

His car parked, Huo Yunting went straight to Lu’s office, with loud clatters coming from his leather shoes.

The door to the secretary’s office was wide open.

His footsteps were loud at first. When he saw that familiar silhouette, those footsteps softened.
