Mu Cheng decided to drive her there but when he opened the door, he saw Mu Jin standing in front of his door, her face hesitant.

“What are you doing here?”

“Ah? Why did you come you come out from this door? Chief Ning told me to pick you up.” Mu Jin looked at the two doors.

Tang Xiao rubbed her nose.

It’s not like she could say she slept with Mu Cheng last night.

She changed the topic, “What happened to Xiao Lin?”

“Chief Ning said that she’s busy so I’ll be your a.s.sistant for the next few days. Right, there’s also something else I need to talk to you about. Prepare yourself.” Mu Jin sucked in a deep breath.

This made Tang Xiao anxious for some reason.

Mu Jin’s face was serious. “You have become pregnant.”

What do you mean, become pregnant??? Become pregnant??

As they saw Tang Xiao step out of the van, they swarmed her instantly.

“My G.o.d, I feel like if I do get pregnant one day, the happiest person won’t be me but the media.” Tang Xiao watched the reporters as she wanted to cry but she had no tears.

“Or maybe it might be Mu Cheng?” Mu Jin said.

This phrase made Tang Xiao happy.

Her eyes nearly didn’t write --- “Bestow this person well for this emperor!”

“Open the door! When we get back, tell Chief Ning to give you a bonus!”

Once the door was opened, the lights from the cameras kept flas.h.i.+ng in her face.

“Tang Xiao, Tang Xiao, who’s the baby’s father?”

“Tang Xiao, I heard you were pregnant, can you reveal how long it’s been?”

Mu Jin tried her hardest to push the people away. “Sorry, our Tang Xiao isn’t pregnant. Thank you everybody. You all probably haven’t eaten yet so Tang Xiao’s prepared some snacks. In a while, the workers will give them to you. It’s been hard on you all.”

TL note:

You have become pregnant - the Chinese is weird because it’s not “you’re pregnant” but you have become pregnant, like something has made her pregnant. That’s why the phrasing is a bit weird.

I'm reading this story and nearly spat out my water. It said the female lead had an ambiguous/romantic relations.h.i.+p with a 'turtle' which made the male lead go crazy and kill them all .... but it turns out it was a typo and the guy's name was "hai gui" which is a synonym for turtle, 'hai gui'.
