Su Lingchuan walked home from school on the country road.

“Wu wu wu…” Just after leaving school, he heard the crying of children. Su Lingchuan couldn't bear it anymore. Looking in the direction of the cry, he found that the crying child was not someone else but his grandson.

Su Lingchuan paused and saw the smoke coming out of the chimney on the roof. He knew that there were adults in the house, so he was very heartless and did not look at the child.

“Waa…” He just saw Grandpa glanced at him, then ignored him and left. Su Caicai's cry just now meant somewhat to make a racket with his Daddy, but now he was really crying.

Su Caicai was not a reserved person. As soon as he saw his grandpa stamping slowly to continue walking, he ran over with tears and hugged Su Lingchuan's leg. “Grandpa hugs, hugs.”

Su Lingchuan looked down at the little thing that he had not seen for days, and finally could not resist bowing his head and lifting him up.

However, Su Lingchuan did not take him away, but wiped his tears.

“GO, GO, GO!” In Su Lingchuan's arms, Su Caicai leaned in the direction of Su House and urged his grandpa to leave. Right now, he did not feel reluctant to leave this loveless home at all.

Su Lingchuan did not move. Instead, he said to Su Caicai as if he were an older child: “If your Dad doesn't see you later, he'll be worried.”

When Su Caicai heard the words, the little tears that had been wiped out came out again, and with a cry, he said, “Don't want him.”

Looking at the grandson being like this, Su Lingchuan's heart softened. He wiped his tears, hugged him into his arms, and like a parent's favorite child, he coaxed. “Don't cry, don't cry. How did your Dad provoke our Caicai?”

Su Caicai sucked his left finger while putting his right hand on his grandpa's shoulder, very grieving said, “Hit me.”

Su Lingchuan was furious at once. His grandson, what did he know being such a young child. To go as far as to hit a child, that's too outrageous.

At the moment, instead of being considerate of Su Qingbai, he left with Su Caicai in his arms.

Back home, Madam Su was another person who cherished him. Su Caicai took the opportunity to make another complaint. And not a moment later, the whole family knew that he had been hit and that he had been hit very hard.

In the evening, Madam Su steamed an egg custard for him, sprinkled some sugar on it and fed it with Su Caicai in her arms.

She touched her grandson's big face and said, “This is a child under two years old. What do you know? How could your Dad hit you?”

Su Caicai's mouth was bulging; he didn't understand what Grandma was saying, but he nodded along with Grandma neatly.

Jiang Mao's house.

“Quick, quick, the frog jumped into the quilt… Don't swat it, you don't swat it yah, be careful, don't dirty the bedding…” Su Qingbai stood up and directed Jiang Mao there. It took him a long time to catch the frog.

“Where's the little brat?”

Just now, when the frog jumped into the quilt, Su Qingbai hit his b.u.t.t a few times and hastily dressed him and put him on the ground.

Jiang Mao put the frog in the bamboo tube. “It looks like he's angry. Now he's out.” After covering the lid, he said, “But you can rest a.s.sured that someone will monitor him. It will be all right.”

Although Su Qingbai was still angry, he was relieved after hearing that.

According to the people who monitored Su Caicai, Su Caicai was taken away by Su Lingchuan. Therefore, they had dinner and did not wait for him.

“I'll pick up Caicai later.” Jiang Mao said.

“I'll go.” Su Qingbai said after a thought. Previously, he had dressed Su Caicai in such a hurry, that he forgot to wear him a pair of pants.

Su Qingbai found him on the gra.s.s near the school. He was with Su Lingchuan. The pair of grandpa and grandson was flying kites.

“Come, Grandpa give it for you to hold it. You run carefully.” Su Lingchuan handed Su Caicai the ball of strings in his hand.

Su Caicai's happy little face blushed, both of his hands holding the ball of string and he ran. With a messy running, this kite certainly would not be able to fly.

“Dad――” Su Qingbai timidly called his Dad, and both of the people who were flying kite saw him coming.

Faced with this son, Su Lingchuan was also helpless. He found a quiet place, picked up Su Caicai and planned to talk to Su Qingbai.

Su Qingbai was flattered and kept up.

“Sigh~ You know the ident.i.ty of that person, so what are your plans for the future?” Su Lingchuan gave him a distracted look.

“What's the plan?” For the future, he had many plans. He didn't know in what aspect his Lao Zi asked.

In Su Lingchuan's ear, it sounded like Su Qingbai had no plan at all. Su Lingchuan was angry about this thoughtless appearance of his son. “That person's status is different. How will you live in the future?” These days, Su Qingbai had almost become the idle prodigal again. Su Lingchuan looked in his eyes and was anxious in his heart. He feared that his son would find a man and in all his life, he would be raised and abandoned by this man. When it happened, he would turn up like those women in the back courtyard (harem).

Especially the speed at which the baby was conceived, in which it was not long before they lived together and he got pregnant. He was worried that his son would stay foolishly in the back courtyard and gave birth to that man's children all his life.

So even though he knew Su Qingbai could have children, he still disapproved of them. His body and bones were all right, he could work for a few more years, and he was not afraid that he could not afford to raise children.

After a long time, Su Qingbai understood the meaning of his Lao Zi's words. He thought about it and said what they planned to say. “Dad, I discussed it with him. We're definitely going back to the capital.”

Su Lingchuan's face was a little white. Qingbai, his son, was leaving their house for that man?

Without noticing his Dad's white face, Su Qingbai continued, “It's too dangerous here. The armies next door are coming to hara.s.s from time to time, so he's going to go back and turn the case over for us?”

“Turn the case over?” Su Lingchuan was shocked, then sighed and said, “He can't turn it over! Third Prince is not going to turn the case over. He's a very small va.s.sal state's ruler, he doesn't have much power. Can he compete with Third Prince?”

A few days ago, when the Suns were making trouble, Su Lingchuan felt that Jiang Mao and Third Prince might have collapsed. So it was even more impossible to reverse the case.

Su Qingbai thought the same thing, but Jiang Mao seemed quite sure that he had all of his mind and heart to do it.
