On that day, He Zheng stayed on the Four Sides Hill alone for a very long time. Air on the hilltop was of very good quality, but maybe because of the high alt.i.tude of the hill, the air also felt piercing cold.

When he went downhill, Li Zong and Zu Zhichong had finished their work.

As Superintendent of the Supernaturalism Management Bureau (SMB), Li Zong had a heavy workload. At least he didn't have as much time of his own as he seemed to have. He didn't even have the time to have a rest. After his meeting with Old Master Zhu, without a single halt, Li Zong, along with members of Fengdu action group, departed for the scene to check up on something.

Fengdu had a paranormal beings management system of its own, and it had been a very long time since the last time that ghosts had caused any direct harm to residents in Fengdu. In the concern that this incident happened on the Ghost Festival was related to the previous matter of a demonized Chinese scholar tree making trouble, Li Zong's superior directly a.s.signed Li Zong here to investigate.

Li Zong didn't find anything unusual on the scene. Since Old Master Zhu's divinatory symbols also suggested that there would be no big trouble, Li Zong decided to temporarily deem this matter a coincidence. Having a lot of other issues to deal with, Li Zong wouldn't stay in Shen City for long now that nothing unusual had been found. Shortly after going back to Zhu family, he told them that he was going back to Coastal City. Originally, He Zheng had meant to stay in Zhu family for a couple of days, but for some unknown reason, he decided to leave with Li Zong.

People of Zhu family booked plane tickets for them. Their seats were close to each other, but the arrangement was a little strange. Zu Zhichong was sitting on seat D of the second row, while He Zheng and Li Zong's seats were seat A and seat B of the third row respectively, and seat C was unoccupied.

Anybody would feel exhausted after bustling around for a full day, no matter how energetic he or she was, and Li Zong was no exception. He was sitting on his seat with his eyes closed, as if thinking about something, while He Zheng, who was sitting beside him, absent-mindedly turned his head aside to look out of the window, also having a lot on his mind. After quite a while, all his efforts to sort them out ended up in vain. Eventually, his eyes, somewhat uncontrollably, rested on Li Zong.

He still remembered his awkward relations.h.i.+p with Li Zong. Their paths crossed because of the injury of his father. As regards his father's intention of having him marry Li Zong, He Zheng had never thought of obeying him. Originally, he had planned to expediently take advantage of it to get out of He family first.

But now...

He Zheng sneered.

"Li Zong." This was the first time that He Zheng had called Li Zong's name in front of him, and his tone of voice was somewhat unfriendly.

Li Zong opened his eyes on hearing it.

With a frown, He Zheng stared at Li Zong's face for quite a while. Abruptly, he made a totally irrelevant remark. "How come a man like you lacks a man?" He said this like a tongue twister, and there was not much respect in his tone.

Li Zong didn't get angry, and neither did he make any response to He Zheng's question.

Thinking of what he was going to say next, He Zheng rubbed his hair somewhat restlessly, but as what Qiao Peiyu and her son had done crossed his mind, He Zheng's eyes gradually grew cold. In the depths of his pitch-black eyes, there seemed to be two flames of anger blazing.

"Do me a favor, Li Zong." He Zheng's voice softened, but the look in his eyes was still icy cold, sending chills down people's spines.
