 After she graduated from the high-rank top university in the country since 54 years ago. Her reputation as a top war psychiatrist during the reign of war has made 'Ashlyn Vemberhans' very popular. Ashlyn settled down in the area that was as far away from the wars as possible, it could be said that if there were wars in the East, you might firstly meet Ashlyn in the West. She valued her life more than anything else.

She coughed so hard with one hand covered her mouth. when Ashlyn calmed down, her palm was already soaked with a rose color of her red blood.

After Ashlyn retired from her job, she transferred all of her properties to her only daughter. Victor and Ashlyn were sent to the elderly care, their daughter came to look after them once or twice a month.

She closed her eyes, her body shook a little but there's nothing to fear because suddenly all the memories surged up to her mind. Someone used to say that when somebody nearly died, they would think about the past and yes, she remembered...the first time she met her beloved husband like it just happened yesterday.

When Ashlyn was 35 years old

"I love you! Please marry me!" She shouted out loud.

It's a Technology age! There was no rule that man had to court first. But wait, not only she did say I love you, but she also asked him to marry her. Was that too much?

Victor who was sipping the afternoon tea spit it out. His eyes widen and his cheeks flushed red like a tomato.

"What the heck did you just say!?"

Ashlyn was happy, at least he didn't reject her immediately.

"So you will marry me, won't you?"

She grabbed his neck and used a little strength to bend his face down. When both faces got closer until they clearly heard each other breathing. Ashlyn kissed him softly.

...It's Victor's first kiss.

He could do nothing except allowing her to take responsibility for stealing his first kiss.

When Ashlyn was 49 years old

"Ashlyn! Please say something to your child. Amber is going out again!"

Victor loved their only one child, Amber Vemberhans was like her mom. Neither Ashlyn nor Amber listened to his words.

"Let her go, honey. She is not a kid anymore" Ashlyn concentrated on using a nail file. Her nails had to be perfect!

"Mommy, can you name my baby?"

Amber held a baby on her arm with expected eyes staring at her face. Ashlyn said "How about Amber Junior?"

Maybe Amber should not expect too much

"Think carefully, mom!"

"Then, how about Ashlyn Junior?"

Amber should thanks G.o.d that her daddy was the one who named the child.

When Ashlyn was 70 years old

"Mommy, I don't have too much times to take care you. I have my own family and child to look after so, I decided to send both daddy and you to the elderly care. Is it alright?"

"Up to you, darling"

That was the year Victor and she moved into the Elderly care. The life was not bad like what other people might imagine. Wifi signal was very good and the food was cooked by Michelin three-star chef. There was also gambling zone for elder to play with. Ashlyn was happy with her life, no matter where she was. She just wanted to stay with Victor until the end.

When Ashlyn was 81 years old

"Hey, honey"

"..."

"Victor?"

"..."

"...Victor"

"..."

Called his name out, but no one answered back. Even when she tried to call his name over and over, he would never be able to hear her voices again. Ashlyn just realized that death was easy like this, it did tear them apart and took Victor with such silence.

At the present

She was so tired. Living in such a long life alone was not fun at all. Her time stopped since the day Victor died. By the way, the one who died first is always the luckiest one, spared from the despair of being left behind. Ashlyn smiled happily actually, she would like to take a rest just a few minutes but right now, she was enough.

She just slept and never woke up again

Ashlyn Vemberhans died in peace at the age of 84.
