Chapter 1924: Escape (2)

They had been roaming about the weird pathway for almost an hour, and finally, they arrived at a house that resembled a beehive. Suddenly, they were pushed inside!

The dark green door closed upon them immediately. Si Qing realized that more than ten children had already occupied the house! There were boys and girls. Those that were elder were around the age of 16 to 17, while the younger ones were about eight to nine years old. They were all sitting there blankly.

Si Qing and the rest got their voices back and could speak normally. However, their spiritual powers were still withheld, making them look no different from normal people. Those children looked as if they had been confined for days. They were malnourished, each with eyes full of despair.

Due to the fact that the ascendants in the Saha world were all adults, they were all at least Junior Immortals. Therefore, those children were natives or second generations of the ascendants.

Being able to achieve the status of Junior Immortals at the age of just over ten years old was already quite an achievement. However, most of the children there had at least reached the standards of Junior Immortals; that proved their high potential. Each of them could be well-nurtured.

Si Qing had heard that the children who had gone missing were all very famous. However, they never thought that they would meet them in such circ.u.mstances! The children had most probably learned of their imminent fate from the half-men; hence, they were all down in the abyss of despair.

Seeing that someone new had come, they were only slightly restless, and before long, their emotions died down again.

Heng Qing was a rather talkative person. After blanking out for a moment, he took out some communication tool similar to a directed audio spell. He felt like getting into contact with someone he was familiar with. However, there was no response. He was agitated, and could not help but lunge himself onto the door and shrieked, “Let me out! Who are you guys?! Let me out!”

He had used up all his energy in a brief period of time. His voice was loud, with high penetrating power, as if it could be transmitted to three to four miles away. Those in the house all felt that his voice was so loud that their eardrums vibrated a great deal.

“Stop shouting. It is of no use.” One of the children spoke. “Any sound in here cannot be transmitted to the outside. Many of us here had cried so hard that we almost became mute. And it did not help at all! You had better save some energy.”

Heng Qing went silent. His hopeful eyes looked towards Si Qing. “What should we do? Brother Si, do you have any ideas?”

Si Qing did not say anything but nodded.

Heng Qing’s gaze was one of despair. “Who is the one who has captured us? Are they thinking of using us to make some potions? Or any other wicked tricks?!”

The children each shook their head. It had been almost half a month, and they had never seen anyone else. The people did not even prepare their meals. The best they had was having drinking water, which flowed out from one of the pipes of the house.

Those children came from privileged backgrounds. Little did they know that they would be confined here one day like pigs.

Si Qing approached a child who was named Ren Chongsheng and asked her softly, “Where is my sister?”

“She has been put down by me, sheltered under the bed. She would wake up at daybreak.” Ren Chongsheng was concise.

Si Qing heaved a sigh of relief. No matter what happened, as long as his little sister was alright, she would seek help once realizing that her brother had gone missing. She would recognize the seriousness of the matter.

He was only afraid that his teachers would not be able to find the place even after knowing where he was at.

“You aren’t Zichun’s superior apprentice, right? I know that apprentice… So who are you actually?” Si Qing spoke with a low-pitched voice.

Ren Chongsheng turned her head to steal a glance at him and finally replied to him, “You don’t have to know who I am. I am just trying to figure out the man behind it all while helping you guys.”
