Hey my lovelies, look whose back…

When the doorbell rang, Xia Xi Jin was sitting in the living room watching television. In fact, she didn't know what she was watching, because all her thoughts were consumed by the emptiness of the big apartment that felt slightly eerie, depressing and cold.

It wasn't that Xi Jin hated being alone. In fact, she enjoyed it so much, that her behaviour, in her teens, had caused dean mother to worry endlessly about her mental wellbeing, and made her consult a psychiatrist for her daughter's sake. But, of course, the psychiatrist dismissed dean mother's suspicions upon examination, and rea.s.sured her that Xi Jin was fine.

However, at the moment, Xi Jin wasn't sure ‘how’ or ‘when’ she began feeling unhappy and uncomfortable about being alone.

Although Mu Tian was rarely home due to his work, office trips, and social engagements, Xi Jin would often wait for him to come back home. She had become accustomed to his presence, and secretly enjoyed spending time with him.

In a few months time, Mu Tian had softened her feeling towards him. She clearly understood that the time she spent with Zhou Hang for the last four years, was nothing compared to the short time spent with Mu Tian, because in such a short while, she was able to cultivate deeper, pure feelings for him.

Sadly, this also made Xi Jin slightly afraid and unwilling to accept her feelings for him, because she knew there was no point of return if she gave him her heart.

In terms of marriage and love, Xi Jin didn't expect that she and Mu Tian would have a happy, fulfilling future. These two words were incompatible in their relations.h.i.+p. But, there were times, when she seemed confused and worried about their future in her heart. Even if, she was clear about it in her head.

Well, seeing herself like this, Xi Jin couldn't deny that she felt exceptionally silly by the sudden change in her nature.

Interrupting her thoughts at the moment, the door bell rang again. Realising she had ignored it the first time, she ran towards to the door to open it.

As she welcomed her husband inside, a heavy whiff of alcohol filled the air. But, before Xi Jin could determine ‘if’ or ‘how’ drunk Mu Tian was, he snaked his hand around her, hugging her tightly.

Using his other hand, Mu Tian pinched her chin painfully between his fingers, as he lowered his head and pasted his lips on her. Unlike the many times before, his lips and tongue were more insistent, sucking and nibbling on her painfully. She could taste the alcohol on his tongue, which only increased her anxiousness…..

"ooommm…… Mu……. Tian!" Xi Jin breathed out painfully, as she finally managed to escape his grip by pus.h.i.+ng him away with all her strength.

Fl.u.s.tered by his intensity, Xi Jin instinctively put her finger on her pained lips to feel them. Seeing a blot of blood smeared on her fingers, she wasn't surprised that he had bit her badly. Raged, she chided, "Mu Tian, You're drunk. Stay away!"

As she took two steps to walk away from him, he grabbed her waist ruthlessly, shoved on her shoulder, and walked towards their bedroom. Kicking the bedroom door open, he chucked her on the bed, moved onto her, and pressed her down completely with his own weight.

When he lifted her chin to make her meet his eyes, Xi Jin felt a shudder pa.s.s through her back and limbs. The look on her 'dear' husband seemed murderous. His eyes flashed killing intent, while his aura froze everything in its path. So, Xi Jin’s weak heart could barely contain the ever-rising panic.

Seeing her like this, Mu Tian revealed a deadly, cold smirk, as he began to mock her, " Xia Xi Jin, I really didn’t see this coming. You have such skills….. no wonder you can seduce any man, huh? I thought you were just a plain beauty, but who could have known that underneath all this, you have such a fu**able body….hmm.."

Shocked by his words, Xi Jin struggled to get away from him. She angrily retorted, "What nonsense!!?"

"Really? Nonsense..! Haa!" Drunk in alcohol and rage, Mu Tian continued to act brazenly.

Reclaiming her struggling body with his own, he spouted in a hoa.r.s.e, distant tone, "You know what Rong Fei Lin said to me today!? He said he was lovelorn… and he asked me to stay away from you, if I didn't love you… Ha! He doesn't want me to fu** you over… Well, I'm sure he likes you.. no, wait, I'm sure he loves you. Now, tell me Xi Jin how?.. How could Rong Fei Lin be obsessed with a shallow woman like you, huh? Unfortunately for you, you are my wife now. Even if I never love you, you will forever be mine. And let me clearly tell you Xi Jin, I hate betrayal, so you better remember your place…"

Frightened by the man, Xi Jin stopped struggling. Feeling pained in her heart and soul, she bit her lips and looked straight in eyes. With a new vigour in her previously pitiful look, she stubbornly asked, "Mu Tian, tell me, why did you marry me?"

Stunned by the resolve in her eyes, Mu Tian's expression softened. Narrowing his eyes, he studied her face closely while his fingers gently caressed her smooth forehead, her creamy flushed cheeks, and her cherry red swollen lips. Leaning in, he placed a feather-light kiss on her sc.r.a.ped lips, as he mumbled a few words….

Since the words were inaudible, Xi Jin didn't know what he mumbled in his drunken stupor. However, the next second, Mu Tian entered her body, submerging her in a contagiously powerful display of pa.s.sion.

Unlike the Mu Tian from before, this man was incredibly gentle, to the extent, that his gentleness bordered caution, like she was a porcelain doll. His usual strength and lack of control was replaced by the illusion of sweet, gentle love-making.

Undeniably, this light spring shower made Xi Jin feel like Mu Tian didn't hate her… Maybe he even liked her… Maybe one day he could love her….

Tonight, for the very first time, Xi Jin really felt the gentleness of the man lying next to her. The heavy fog had finally lifted, slowly revealing Mu Tian's inner thoughts and his true self.
