055.024 Y: And His are the s.h.i.+ps sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains:

P: His are the s.h.i.+ps displayed upon the sea, like banners.

S: And His are the s.h.i.+ps reared aloft in the sea like mountains.

055.025 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.026 Y: All that is on earth will perish:

P: Everyone that is thereon will pa.s.s away;

S: Everyone on it must pa.s.s away.

055.027 Y: But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.

P: There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory.

S: And there will endure for ever the person of your Lord, the Lord of glory and honor.

055.028 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.029 Y: Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (s.h.i.+ne)!

P: All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power.

S: All those who are in the heavens and the earth ask of Him; every moment He is in a state (of glory).

055.030 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.031 Y: Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds!

P: We shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn).

S: Soon will We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies.

055.032 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.033 Y: O ye a.s.sembly of jinns and men! If it be ye can pa.s.s beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pa.s.s ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pa.s.s!

P: O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.

S: O a.s.sembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pa.s.s through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pa.s.s through; you cannot pa.s.s through but with authority.

055.034 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.035 Y: On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have:

P: There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of bra.s.s, and ye will not escape.

S: The flames of fire and smoke will be sent on you two, then you will not be able to defend yourselves.

055.036 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.037 Y: When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment:

P: And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide-

S: And when the heaven is rent asunder, and then becomes red like red hide.

055.038 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? -

S: Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

055.039 Y: On that Day no question will be asked of man or jinn as to his sin.

P: On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned of his sin.

S: So on that day neither man nor jinni shall be asked about his sin.

055.040 Y: Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

P: Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
