Mr. Earnest Is My Boyfriend Chapter 12 Part2

After hearing his description, Xia Zhen came to the conclusion that his work was boring. So she asked him what he liked to do after work.

He said he likes to read books and newspapers, he likes to run in the morning, and walk in the countryside on holidays or go fis.h.i.+ng.

Xia Zhen felt that Pei Cheng An was too simple, and then she felt helpless. She wants to know what he likes, and then she'll do the opposite.

So she asked him what he hated, and Pei looked back with his brows furrowed as he thought about it, then shook his head. Everyone has things that they don't like, but Pei Cheng An doesn't find it annoying and he doesn't care much about many things.

Xia Zhen was a bit deflated, but she quickly became optimistic that maybe she didn't have to do anything, and that anything could happen naturally over time.

The two ended up having a peaceful meal, and Pei Cheng An said that she was sleep-deprived and so, she had to go home early to rest. So after the meal, he sent her home. Before parting, he made an appointment for dinner the next night. He doesn't know what better option to choose than to eat.

Xia Zhen quickly agreed, but the next day Pei Cheng An called and said he couldn't make it to the appointment, he had to work overtime. He worked overtime for the next few days and during the weekend. They didn't meet for a week, and even though they called each other every day and Pei Cheng An occasionally sent one or two WeChat messages, Pei Cheng An was not much of a talker. Gradually, Xia Zhen was reluctant to say more as well.

After a week's absence, Xia Zhen even wondered if Pei Chang An had grown unhappy with her and waited for her to break up with him.

If she breaks up now, even if she pretended to be sad, Ms. Tian, her mother, won't sympathize with her, and if she doesn't, and she might arrange a second date immediately. 

Also, it is one thing for her to deliberately make Pei dislike her, but as it is now, she is still doing well, but he has a problem with wanting to break up, which is another thing, and it hurts her self-esteem.

The reason Xia Zhen thought so much was mostly that she was idle. So, the lonely and thoughtful Xia Zhen sent a message to Pei Cheng An: "Do you mind if your girlfriend goes out with her guy (heteros.e.xual) friends?"

Pei Cheng An turns his phone to vibrate mode when at work, and when Xia Zhen sent a message he was talking to colleagues about work, and as he felt the vibrations in his pocket, he pauses.

A few days later, Pei Cheng An's longing for Xia Zhen has not diminished, and color has been added to his life by listening to her every day on the phone talking about events that she said happened around her, as well as the occasional funny jokes.

She occasionally asks some special questions, and now it's hardly surprising that Pei Cheng An thinks of Xue Chen. He would mind if Xia Zhen had kept a secret meeting with Xue Chen, so after a thought, he replied: "If it's just a friend, it's okay. if your heteros.e.xual friends have a different heart for you, I mind."

When she asked this question, Xia Zhen didn't know what she was expecting. If Pei Cheng An said he didn't mind, she would think he was too light in his feelings, and if he had said he did mind, she would think it was too possessive. Instead, now, she feels that this answer is not bad.

Xia Zhen replied with a smiley emoji, and Pei Cheng An responded with one as well.

Xia Zhen: "Why don't you ask me if I mind?"

Pei Cheng An: " I don't have to ask, I don't have friends of the opposite s.e.x."

Xia Zhen: "you poor guy."

Even though Pei Cheng An has had no previous relations.h.i.+ps nor does he have friends.h.i.+ps with the opposite gender, he has heard of girls who are jealous and can't see their boyfriends making contact with other girls. He wasn't worried about Xia Zhen being jealous. 

As for Xia Zhen and her opposite-s.e.x friends, Pei Cheng An is not in a stable relations.h.i.+p with Xia Zhen, so, he is a little worried, but he will not ask her.

Before he could reply, Xia Zhen sent another message: "What would you do if a pretty, smart girl approached you with interest?"
