Legend of the Asura Chapter 9

Chapter 9: Bloodthirsty White Wolf King

It was around 5:00 pm when he withdrew from the game capsule. Feng Xiao was able to doze off. After all, due to excitement for Rebirth’s opening to public, he wasn’t able to get enough sleep yesterday evening,

It was around 7 pm when Feng Xiao’s younger sister called and woke him up. He ate a simple dinner then started sitting in meditation.

Still unable to feel any flow of aura, Feng Xiao can’t help but sigh. “for 17 years, I have always been practicing Chaos Secret Art and I still can’t breakthrough this bottleneck. Still stuck at the first stage, my foster father should be very disappointed.”

Thought of his foster father, Feng Xiao’s mood interweaved into heavy missing, warm, doubt, sadness, hatred. Wave of recollections flashed through his mind.

Feng Xiao’s foster father is an extremely mysterious person. Mysterious, that even Feng Xiao who lived with him for 22 years, is still unable to completely understand him.

At age 3, he started to exhort him a lot of times, not to call him “father” instead, call him “foster father” which is a little archaic. During those times, he also told him frankly that he only picked him up, without even caring how a 3 year-old child’s mind would be able to withstand.

His foster father is only severe when it comes to practicing martial arts, other than that, he’s usually a caring and perfect father. In order to better take care of him and his younger sister, he gave up the free and comfortable life, gave up pursuing the peak of martial arts, gave up having his own child, worked at a newspaper company, raised them alone. A lone man raising two children, the two brothers and sisters watching in silence are deeply moved.

Slowly calming down his mood, Feng Xiao silently prayed in his mind: “Foster father, Xiao’er is moving forward the path you showed. Yao’er is now on his second year and is hurrying home for summer vacation.”

“Foster father, if you can hear me in heaven, look at us to see how I and Yao’er will make you proud.”

Thought of his younger sister whose beauty can damage a country and cause suffering to its people, Feng Xiao’s lip turned into a warm smile. Has her by my side, I will never be lonely.

The next day, Feng Xiao woke up really late. He took a quick bath, had breakfast then entered the game capsule to continue his journey in Rebirth.

There’s the flash of white light then Feng Xiao appeared where he logged off yesterday. The newly-sp.a.w.ned White Wolves apparently does not recognize him who ma.s.sacred some of their companions before, they don’t even care how he appeared there. They are just leisurely snacking on gra.s.s.

Feng Xiao felt strange that there is still no players in this area. White Wolves sp.a.w.n quickly, will not take the initiative to attack and the experience gain is high. There should be groups of people raising their levels in such a good place. Why is there no one here? Does n.o.body know this place? But the map clearly marks that The White Wolf Territory is here inside Sunset Slope.

If Feng Xiao looked into the Forum page or asked the Village Head for information he’ll be able to know why. Monsters in the North of Novice Village are mostly docile, the downside is that the drop rate for gold, potions and equipment is extremely low. What the Novice players need the most is money. The income in this area won’t be able to cover the cost. With the game only just started, only then Feng Xiao who has high Luck, Attack and Reaction speed will be the only Novice able to profit here.

Unable to understand, Feng Xiao no longer cares about it. Feng Xiao checked his backpack. With 20 bottles of Small Rep Potions and his energy full he decided to start exploring deeper into the Sunset Slope.

Further ahead is the Sunset Canyon, which is the Level 8 Violent Wolf Territory. Feng Xiao thought that it should be safe as he glanced at his Attack Damage 200 and HP 450.

Feng Xiao was about to leave Sunset Slope when a cave suddenly brought his attention.

The cave’s entrance is just as tall as a man. It was built with a pile of earth and stones that looked as though it was naturally formed. From afar the gra.s.sland of Sunset Slope, it appears very eye-catching and towering.

Feng Xiao can barely recall the Village Head mentioning something about cave. Does this cave have some sort of treasure? Clearing away his hesitations, he rushed inside. ( Village Head shouted loudly: “[email protected]/* */! father warned you not to approach that cave!)

Just arriving at the mouth of the cave, Qi reeking of blood and slaughtering suddenly a.s.sailed his nose. at that moment, cold light flickered, pa.s.sing through in front of him, by instinct, Feng Xiao moved sideways, narrowly dodging the sharp claws.

What appeared before his eyes, is a tall White Wolf gazing intently at the intruder before him. Compared to the docile White Wolf, it is bigger and its eyes is flowing with demonic red light, its body is emitting dense cruel aura.

“Ding! Player Feng Hun, you crossed the Bloodthirsty White Wolf King’s Territory. You have offended the dignity of the Wolf King. The White Wolf King will keep attacking you until you die or you leave its territory.”

Feng Xiao ignored the System’s Warning. Feng Xiao’s heart does not have any fear instead, it is filled with excitement: “A Boss, It is indeed a Boss! No wonder, I can’t find where it’s hiding even by hunting the whole afternoon yesterday, originally, this treasure is sleeping in this huge cave.”

What does Bosses mean? It means getting the best equipment, and gain a lot of experience for leveling up. Almost every player craves to challenge Bosses. Even if the Boss they meet is not their match, most of the people will just call their Uncles and Aunts from all sides of the family to gang up on that Boss. If you meet a boss and not fight it, either you’re a coward or a a little stupid, unless the gap in strength is really hopeless.

Bloodthirsty White Wolf King: Level 10 High Level Boss, HP: 1500.
The King of the White Wolves. Due to years of absorbing Sunset Slope’s pure spirit strength, it gradually grown to be a High Level Boss. It has a temperate demeanor but it will mercilessly slaughter any living thing that intrudes into its territory.

Skills:

Bloodthirst
Pa.s.sive Skill, absorbs 5% damage inflicted into own HP.

Tearing Claw Strike
Active Attack Skill, hits the enemy hard with sharp claws, High change to inflict Critical Damage.

“It is actually a High Level Boss.” Feng Xiao however is not that worried. With his current attributes which could not be compared to ordinary Level 5 players and his strong reaction speed, fighting it alone should be fine.

From highest to lowest, ordinary Bosses’ grades are divided into: High Level, Silver Level and Gold Level. Each grade going up will have a huge strength disparity. For example, alone, a Silver Level Boss can fight 3 High Level Bosses with ease and it would be the same case for Gold Level Boss fighting three Silver Bosses. The grade above the Gold Level is the incomparably powerful Immortal Beast. Above immortal Beast would be the G.o.d Beast in legend. Going on after G.o.d Beast there is also the Ultra G.o.d Beast. Finally, the existence standing at the peak of Rebirth, the ultimate Sacred Beast.
