Chapter 1553: Fortunately, She Was Not Her Daughter
Ning Shu looked at Xi Mucheng, who was holding onto the wall while clamping his legs. A murderous aura rose in her heart; she should kill him directly.
The atmosphere was stagnant as cold sweat rolled down Xi Mucheng’s forehead. He glared at Ning Shu with reddened eyes.
s.h.i.+ Sinan was busy getting off the bed. She blocked Ning Shu’s way and held up a delicately wrapped box.
“Mom...” said s.h.i.+ Sinan. “Uncle was here to give me my birthday present.”
Ning Shu pivoted away from s.h.i.+ Sinan and said coldly, “Can’t it be given at the party tomorrow?”
“Uncle said he wanted to give me a surprise.” s.h.i.+ Sinan said hastily, “He said there’s a present now and a present tomorrow.”
“You shut up. I didn’t ask you.” Ning Shu snapped. “Coming to your room to bring you something in the middle of the night, even if he’s your uncle, he is still a male. In ancient times, even brothers and sisters had to take care and wouldn’t easily enter a woman’s boudoir.”
s.h.i.+ Sinan was stunned by Ning Shu’s lecture, then she said, “What era was that?”
Even if times had changed, the boundaries between men and women still existed. To top it off, Xi Mucheng had sinister thoughts about s.h.i.+ Sinan.
How could a woman like s.h.i.+ Sinan not naturally sense the strange situation?
At the very least, she should be able to sense whether she was being treated as a junior or a woman.
Ning Shu took a deep breath, feeling like her lungs were going to explode. If it wasn’t for the fact that s.h.i.+ Sinan was the protagonist of the banquet tomorrow, Ning Shu really wanted to slap her into a pig’s head.
Fortunately, she was not her daughter.
Ning Shu ignored the dark-faced Xi Mucheng and dragged s.h.i.+ Sinan to the old man’s bedroom. She then knocked on the door.
The old man had obviously fallen asleep by now. He opened the door in a daze. Seeing the angry Ning Shu and uneasy s.h.i.+ Sinan, he asked, “What’s going on?”
“Dad, what the h.e.l.l does Xi Mucheng mean by coming to Sinan’s room in the middle of the night?” Ning Shu said to the old man, “You’d better investigate this Xi Mucheng.”
“Grandpa, Uncle came to my room to give me my birthday present,” said s.h.i.+ Sinan.
The old man laughed. “It’s just a gift. I’ll talk to him tomorrow and tell him to pay attention.”
“Dad.” Ning Shu frowned.
“Go to bed.” The old man said, “You’re too old to stay up late.”
He then closed the door.
Ning Shu sighed. She pulled s.h.i.+ Sinan to her bedroom and said, “Sleep here.”
s.h.i.+ Sinan was tightly squeezing the gift from Xi Mucheng in her hands. Till now, she hadn’t opened the present, nor did she know what was inside.
When s.h.i.+ Sinan saw Ning Shu leaving, she asked, “Mother, where are you going?”
“Going to see your uncle,” said Ning Shu.
s.h.i.+ Sinan immediately said, “Mom, I have nothing to do with Uncle. Mom, don’t fight with him anymore.”
By the time something happened, it would be too late for anything.
Ning Shu wanted to just cripple Xi Mucheng. However, Xi Mucheng had mixed with gangsters since his childhood and had a strong sense of vigilance. It was already lucky that she could make him suffer twice.
Ning Shu looked at s.h.i.+ Sinan, who was pulling her, and pushed her hand away. As she opened the door, s.h.i.+ Sinan’s voice came from behind her.
“Mom, the current you is scary. No wonder Dad left us. Why don’t you just believe me?”
Ning Shu’s figure paused. She was scary!?
She suddenly wanted to laugh. The real scary one should be someone full of hatred who wanted to kill the s.h.i.+ family, right?
However, in s.h.i.+ Sinan’s world, anyone who didn’t do as she wished and mistreated her was scary.
