A Place Where I belong Chapter 6

Kelly entered the cla.s.s. She looked at the end of the cla.s.s where she sat with Kim on her first day.

“Kelly what’s wrong? Are you feeling okay?”, Natasha asked with concern.

“Yeah I am fine. But I don’t see him. Does he always arrive late in cla.s.s?”, Kelly asked with a disappointment look on her face.

“Don’t worry your hero will arrive in time”, Natasha answered her with a satisfied smile. She went forward to sit.

Although Kim wasn’t there at present. She was disappointed for a moment but her mood went back to normal because, she knew he would come to the cla.s.s. At sharp 9 am, professor entered the cla.s.s, following behind him was a familiar figure. It was Kim after all. He was wearing hood on his head holding a bag pack in his right hand.

“Okay everyone please take your seats. Mr. Kim where were you for last few days?”, Professor asked Kim with a serious look on his face.

“I… I was feeling a little down so I…took a little vacation”, he answered with hesitation.

“Now you’re burning up with pa.s.sion?”, professor said with disdain.

“Sorry professor!”, Kim apologized to him right away.

“Don’t apologize. This is not some high school, where I call your parent and ask about you. You should be responsible for your actions. Anyways, with that said I am looking forward to your performance in finals. Just keep up the good work. Now go.”

He looked at Kelly, “Ah… Miss Kelly how are you feeling today?”, Professor asked with concern.

“Sorry for the commotion, created by me yesterday, I am feeling much better today professor”, Kelly replied.

Kim used to sit in last by the window but it was already possessed by Kelly. He could see her gaze on him. Therefore, he looked for another seat which was behind Kelly. Kelly‘s eyes were locked on Kim, hoping she would make an eye contact, but Kim ignored her gaze intentionally. She thought Kim would look at her, sit with her, and chat with her but Kim’s sudden move, surprised her.

“Excuse me. Can I sit with you?”, Kim asked a female student at front. She was shocked by his sudden question.

“Ye…yes…sure…sure why not? It would be my pleasure. Come on girls make some room for Kim”, she pushed the other girls who were sitting beside her.

Students at front seat were all surprised by his sudden move.

Natasha who was sitting in the middle of the cla.s.s looked back at Kelly. She could see, that Kelly was boiling in rage.

“My—my—someone’s hope are ruined”, She said with a mocking smile. Then looked at Kim said with a soft clod voice which only she could hear, “You better be careful from now on prince charming! You have enraged an ice princess.”

Time went by and a whole week pa.s.sed. Kim tried his best to ignore the gazes of Kelly. And whenever she tried to approach him or talk to him, he would ran away like a ghost. She even ran after him few times a day. But he never listened to her. She was really infuriated with his actions.

When Kim felt that Kelly had gave up on chasing him, he felt at ease. One evening, it was raining cats and dogs. There was no one on the campus grounds, except for one. A young man wearing rain coat was walking all alone. Kim was on his way to his dorm after studying all day. He was enjoying the weather. He could hear the rain drops which were felling from sky and the thundering in the sky after every few minutes.

Walking all alone, street lights were turned on because it was getting dark. He looked at his dorm to measure the distance. In his line of sight there was a figure, holding an umbrella and was standing in front of boys dormitory, he could tell that it was a female because the way she was dressed. But couldn’t see her face. He didn’t give any more thought to that female and pa.s.sed by her. But suddenly a white and thin hand grabbed him from the back of his rain coat.

“You arrogant b.a.s.t.a.r.d! Why are ignoring my existence?”, she asked with an infuriating tone.

When heard the voice, he realized that it was someone who he was ignoring for the last 15 days. He turned around and saw an enraged ice princess.

“Goo… Good evening Miss Kelly…haha…you look good today…”, Kim was caught off guard so he asked with confusion.

Kelly didn’t reply and kept staring at him. Kim was laughing like a fool for an instance but then he stopped and said in an apologized tone, “Miss Kelly, I am really sor---“

Before he could continue, Kelly stepped forward, threw her umbrella aside and punched in his belly. Kim lost his balance and fell down on the ground. Then she gave a lower kick to his abdomen. Kim was gasping for air after a punch and kick. But chain of attacks by Kelly didn’t stop, instead they were increased.

“You a.s.shole! I was trying to befriend you with every mean possible, G.o.d knows for how many days, but you kept ignoring me. You f.u.c.ked up nerd! Back then in the infirmary, you made me feel like that you cared a lot about me. And now you’re ignoring me like some b.i.t.c.h. You stupid f.u.c.k! I am gonna beat you up in a f.u.c.king pulp! You motherf.u.c.ker!” Kelly was so enraged that she forgot to control her strength and hit Kim with her full strength.

Kim never fought with anyone in his entire life but he really abused in his childhood so he was afraid of getting beat up. After taking a few hits from her Kim kneeled in front of her and begged, “I am sorry…please…please don’t…please don’t hit me anymore. Please!--just let me explain…please just let me explain!” Kim who had never interacted with a lot of people, was terrified at the moment. He was gasping for air.

Seeing his current condition she stopped attacking him anymore and said with a stern face, “You better had good reason. Or else I will beat you up again”, Kelly said with a cold face.

He was trembling with fear. He cleared the blood coming out of his mouth.

“SPEAK UP!”, she shouted. He stepped forward.

Kim raised his both hands in front of his face in fear, and said, “Okay—okay.” Then he said with a fearful expression on his face, “The thing is when you warned me, that…that you don’t want me around you, So, I…i… thought yo…you…you really hated me. So I was trying my best to keep my distance. That’s the reason I was ignoring you all this time. I was afraid of you. The way you looked at me back in the cla.s.s, whenever I remember your face, it gives me chills.”

“What?!----------You are really stupid!”, she shook her head in helplessness and stepped forward, to help him stand up.

“It’s okay it’s not that I will hurt you again you’ve learned your lesson today”, she raised her hand, “and now let me treat your injuries.” Suddenly, Lighting stroke close by the campus. The street light, below they were standing malfunctioned for a moment. She moved forward and smiled. She bend and moved her hand forward to help him. Her hairs which were not that long came in front of her face due to wind.

Looking at her smiling face, which was covered with her hairs, under the malfunctioning of the street light, something snapped in his mind. His face went pale all of a sudden, and body started s.h.i.+vering. He screamed with fear like a five year old child, “Ahhhhhhhhh………….” Kelly froze at the moment. The nearby guards were alerted and ran towards the voice.

“Kim what’s wrong? Are you okay”, Kelly asked in a surprise.

He said while crying with fear, “Pl…Please Mommy, do…don’t…don’t hit me anymore! I’ve already told you the truth. I am not lying to you”, he said in fear. He looked really helpless and pitiful in front of her.

Seeing his reaction, Kelly didn’t say anything. She became stiff for the moment. Her heart took a huge shock. She muster up courage and moved a step forward without saying anything. Kim crept back instantly with his hands and stood up in fear and ran in opposite direction. He hardly ran for two or three yards. He staggered and fell on the ground. Kelly followed him but couldn’t kept the pace.

Kim was so terrified for the moment he forgot where he was. With shattered thoughts he even fell in the stair case. He was s.h.i.+vering with fear non-stop and running like a cheetah in open.

Kelly could see his figure which was getting farther and farther away every second. She even shouted, “Kim come back I am sorry. I didn’t mean to treat you like this.”

How naïve she was? After venting her all anger on him, beaten him up so badly, how could he listen to her?
