Yan Liang absolutely didn't think when Liang Xi Cheng walked over his first words would be coffee......

Everything that has happened changed so violently. She was a bit overwhelmed. Her mind momentarily blanked out. In the end she finally returned to her senses and instinctively responded, "Apologies, Chairman Liang. I'll immediately bring it to you."

Liang Xi Cheng's gaze was deep. It swept over Ning Zhi Yuan and Yan Liang, but it never stopped. His hands leisurely stuck into his trouser pockets. His n.o.ble and oppressive countenance didn't have any superfluous expression. But once he spoke again, Yan Liang's heart that hadn't settled once  jumped into her throat again.

"Right now it's business hours. For someone who is always stressing how capable they are, yet actually handling personal matters during work hours, isn't that eating your own words?"

He neither gently nor strongly threw out this warning. Liang Xi Cheng didn't give a chance for explanations. He turned around and walked back into his office.

Yan Liang stood in place with a splitting headache. She was so vexed it felt like her insides were cramping with bruising force [1]!

The situation unraveled into this. Ning Zhi Yuan felt a little guilty, "Sorry, I didn't intentionally disturb your work."

Yan Liang pressed a hand against her aching temples. Her voice sounded exhausted, "You should go."

She didn't want to talk anymore. Today was laughably preposterous. Right now her mind was stretched to the limit. She was really worried one more bit of stress would make her completely fall apart.

Ning Zhi Yuan saw her complexion wasn't good. He remembered what Liang Xi Cheng just said and was a little scared of the consequences. Besides, his original purpose wasn't to trouble Yan Liang. "Then I"ll leave now. I know you got promoted today. I'm happy for you. Give it your best"

Yan Liang didn't even glance at him. She just tidied the files by her hand. Ning Zhi Yuan felt embarra.s.sed. He looked like he was hesitating to say something. After a short while, he left her office.

Hearing the door close, only then did Yan Liang raise her head. Through the transparent gla.s.s, she saw Ning Zhi Yuan's back just disappearing around the corner across from her office. Only then did she release her breath. Nevertheless, she didn't dare have the slightest bit of neglect again. She very quickly found Guan Jiu's contact information. Because time was tight, she only asked Guan Jiu what Liang Xi Cheng's coffee preference was before hanging up.

Guan Jiu told her Liang Xi Cheng only drank the strongest black coffee. There was no need to add sugar, but the coffee must be freshly ground. Because there was barely anyone in the previous chairman's office, there were no fresh coffee grounds in the break room. Yan Liang remembered across from the company was a coffee shop, so she hurried downstairs to buy it.

Making a trip wasted quite a bit of time. By the time she brought the coffee to Liang Xi Cheng's office, 15 minutes had already pa.s.sed.

"Chairman Liang, your coffee."

Yan Liang cautiously placed it by his hand. She saw he was focused on a doc.u.ment and didn't react. She bit her lip. She felt like the words in her throat had to come out. Finally she couldn't resist, "......Chairman Liang, I'm really sorry. Actually the earlier situation......it wasn't on purpose. Um, actually what I want to say is the relations.h.i.+p between me and Ning Zhi Yuan already isn't......"

The line is 懊恼的肠子都青了, which literally translates to: Her annoyed intestines became blue/green. I thought this was really awkward sounding, so I changed the phrasing a bit. I hope you guys don't mind. I felt like the meaning was still there. Let me know if you feel like I should change it back to the original phrasing!
