Chapter 38

Chapter 38: G.o.d Realm’s Immortal Friend (2)

The night was dark, and in regions that had little fire, a pearl was a necessary tool for travelling. It’s shape was lighter and easier to use compared to a lantern and it was easy to carry.

The winds in the vast wasteland were swift. Tian Zhen flew as low as possible to the ground and looked for the right direction. About five or six hours later, a behemoth-sized mountain appeared in her field of view. It was You Po Mountain.

As expected, there were no guards around You Po Mountain. The princ.i.p.al reason being that there was nothing to guard against. It was a sinister holy mountain; no one could not climb it so there was no need to guard it and those who could climb it could not be stopped. The Heavenly Emperor was wise. He knew that dispatching anyone there was to resign them to the fate of a cannon fodder. The growth of the G.o.d Realm’s people needed time. They couldn’t have their people turned into cannon fodder everyday.

The cry of a phoenix was clear and resonating. The blowing winds couldn’t distort it and the call pierced through the vast night and straight into the clouds.

The call was repeated several times, but there was still no response.

She’d circled around such a large area and it was actually empty? The chill of the night was accompanied by an air of disappointment. Tian Zhen began to s.h.i.+ver, but she stayed where she was for ages before ultimately deciding to try one more time.

However, this time around, before she could even make a sound, a cold, snake-like thing slithered over and wrapped around her neck.

Immediately after, the sound of a familiar, delicate laugh came from behind her.

The one who should have come isn’t here, the one who shouldn’t have come was drawn over! Tian Zhen inwardly cursed and was resigned to her fate as she turned around to look.

Heng Yue-ji insincerely smiled as she stood there. The maid beside her was holding a long whip in her hand. The other end of the whip was wrapped around Tian Zhen’s neck.

“Who did Little Phoenix get mad at this time to be wandering around at night?” Heng Yue-ji walked up to her. Her voice was soft, but her eyes were full of malice, “If something were to happen to you, who would Zhao Huajun blame?”

If Heng Yue-ji disposed of her right now, no one would suspect her. Tian Zhen knew that anything she said right now would be useless, and broke out into a cold sweat. She bowed her head and acknowledged her mistakes. “I was blind back then and hadn’t realized G.o.ddess’ ident.i.ty. May G.o.ddess have mercy on this small servant.”

“Looks like you understand what kind of person I am.” Sharp nails flashed with cold light as Heng Yue-ji forcefully lifted her chin, “What I truly don’t understand is how a phoenix as ugly as you managed to gain Zhao Huajun’s favor?”

“Perhaps King has seen too many

beauties,” Tian Zhen said with an apologetic smile. “Actually, G.o.ddess has the countenance of a flower and a face like the moon not to mention you’re of n.o.ble status. It’s not that hard of a matter to make King like you.”

“You’ll help me?”

“As long great G.o.ddess let’s this small person go, I promise……”

“It’d be good enough if you didn’t badmouth me in front of him once I let you return. Where would I have the guts to make you promise?” Heng Yue-ji let go of her face and switched to holding the whip, slowly applying pressure on it, “Look, do I seem like someone who leaves behind those who could become future problems when I handle matters?”

Tian Zhen gradually felt it harder and harder to breathe. She struggled and begged for forgiveness. “I definitely won’t become a problem for G.o.ddess!”

Heng Yue-ji loosened the whip. “If there is an enemy, then they must be crushed. That is the way I do things. Yue Lin, don’t let this end too soon.”

“Yes.” The maid answered and received the long whip.

Tian Zhen’s eyes were sharp and her movements deft. She promptly cast aside the pearl and tightly gripped the whip with both hands, trying to loosen the pressure around her neck. Despite this, her entire body was till tossed into the air and then heavily thrown back on the ground.

Yue Lin dragged her body forward and stepped forcefully onto her back.

Pain seared through her, her spine felt like it was about to be broken. The long whip around her neck grew tighter and tighter. Tian Zhen gave a stifled groan, finding it difficult to endure the pain of suffocation. Her wings unconsciously flapped in an attempt to buck off her a.s.sailant.

“Wait,” Upon seeing this, Heng Yue-ji indicated for Yue Lin to stop. She walked over to Tian Zhen and easily pulled off a couple of gray feathers from her phoenix wings. She said in a unhurried tone, “This pair of gray wings is ugly and unnecessary. How about you do a good deed first and remove them for her?”

“Yes.” Yue Lin lifted a hand and a dagger appeared in it from out of nowhere.

She had been screwed the minute she fell into the hands of this witch! Now that she knew there was no hope of surviving, Tian Zhen abandoned her misgivings. She panted as she cursed: “F……f*** you! No wonder King doesn’t want you, this old……cough cough……old woman curses you to become……uglier the older you, cough……even uglier than me……”

Having salt rubbed into her wounds, Heng Yue-ji’s face twisted.

“You’re about to die and yet you still won’t repent!” Yue Lin put more pressure on her leg.

It was like being crushed by a boulder weighing a thousand catties. Tian Zhen was in so much pain that she frantically struggled. The air in her lungs seemed to have been completely squeezed out.

“Good!” Heng Yue-ji stopped Yue Lin and sneered. “Slow down a bit, I want to see exactly how long she can refuse to repent!”

Yue Lin grinned evilly and

and raised her dagger.

Just when Tian Zhen thought it was the end for her, suddenly, murderous intent swept up the dirt and sand. There wasn’t enough time for her to see clearly before a rain of blood spilled down from above her. Yue Lin’s body flew out over 6 meters before she tumbled to the ground. It was unknown whether she was dead or alive.

“Hurting my subordinate? Detestable!”

The heavy smell of blood drifted over and brought along a familiar aura of death. When she heard this voice, Tian Zhen was ecstatic. So much so that she wanted to shed tears. She knew that she definitely wouldn’t die now.

“You….” Heng Yue-ji recognized him and her face paled.

Long hair fluttered in the wind. The G.o.d was furious. His killing intent was colder than a gale.

A hand slightly rose, half hidden by the long sleeve.

Heng Yue-ji was frightened and drew back.

“I, don’t kill women,” The deep voice was exceptionally clear. He pointed a finger at Heng Yue-ji. “The Moon Clan will pay the price.”

Such a short sentence had declared the fate of the Moon Clan. No one would doubt its validity. Heng Yue-ji went completely still, even forgetting to escape.

There was suddenly a loud sound.

“Your Majesty be careful!”

Following Tian Zhen’s hoa.r.s.e shout, the Devil G.o.d continued to stand in his original position and didn’t move. His posture hadn’t so much as s.h.i.+fted. The earth and stone behind him burst open. Amidst the flying smoke and dust was a strange, colored ribbon that was being sent careening backwards by the waves of energy.

Tian Zhen clearly saw what it was already. That wasn’t a ribbon, but an extremely terrifying multi-colored python. The python was several meters long and as thick as a bucket. It was covered with colorful, flower designs. The red hyacinths were like flames. She only saw that this python looked ferocious. How could she know that it was actually a primordial divine python and couldn’t be compared with common magical creatures? The Devil G.o.d was right in the middle of battling it when he suddenly heard the sound of a phoenix cry. He then hurriedly rushed down the mountain and saved her life just in time.

The colorful python’s attack failed but it refused to give up. It shook its head and attacked again.

In an instant, the Devil G.o.d’s figure disappeared only to reappear behind the colorful python and his left hand pressed down on it.

Pythons normally weren’t very agile when it came to changing directions. It’s tail was struck by the powerful blow and it trembled in pain. In its fury, it swept its tail towards him.

The Devil G.o.d didn’t bother evading. With a wave of his wide sleeve, he single-handedly grabbed the python’s tail and sent it flying into the air. Unexpectedly lifting the python’s entire body off of the ground.

After leaving the ground, the serpent finally began to panic. It began to struggle with all its might.

Under such a dangerous situation, he still hadn’t made his move. It was clear that he intended

he intended to subdue this python. Tian Zhen also knew that this python wasn’t simple. To be capable of contending with the Devil G.o.d, this level of power definitely wouldn’t lose to that of the G.o.d Realm’s best war general. She quickly strained to turn her body over and sit up. She watched the battle while also paying attention to Heng Yue-ji who wasn’t far from her.

Heng Yue-ji gradually regained her bearings and rushed over to help her maid Yue Lin.

Yue Lin was still unconscious.

She was unable to kill Tian Zhen and had instead, unintentionally brought a great disaster upon the Moon Clan. Heng Yue-ji was both hateful and fearful.

At the same time, the colorful python had realized that it couldn’t beat him in a fight so it looked for an opening and then opened its jaws and spat out a poisonous fog. Countless, tiny black arrows that were made from venom were mixed within the fog.

The primordial divine python’s poison couldn’t be compared with that of normal snakes and it carried the strength of several millions of years’ worth of cultivation within it. Even the Devil G.o.d didn’t dare to be careless and it was right when he was about to receive the attack that Heng Yue-ji made her move. Heng Yue-ji really did have a death wish. She had realized that that colorful python wasn’t ordinary and the poisonous fog that it spat out was impossible to defend against so she took it as a good opportunity. Immediately, a jadelike finger lightly flicked out and silently sent two thin, silver lights flying outwards. One flew towards the Devil G.o.d while the other flew directly towards Tian Zhen.

“Your Majesty be careful!” Tian Zhen cried as she struggled to avoid getting hit in her vital areas.

A weakling had launched a sneak attack. In response, the Devil G.o.d used a divine art for the first time and suddenly separated his palms!

A vigorous force condensed in his palms and he used his right hand to form a scarlet-colored barrier. When the poisonous fog’s tiny arrows touched the barrier, they would immediately be bounced back into the air until they fell on the ground and disappeared. The colorful python was sent flying backwards several meters and heavily fell back on the ground. It was smashed into the ground so hard that the earth shook.

At the same time, the force in his left hand had struck against the ground and generated a loud blast of energy that s.h.i.+fted Tian Zhen back several feet. As a result, she evaded Heng Yue-ji’s sneak attack and it was also how the Devil G.o.d found out that she couldn’t directly endure divine power.

His response was quick and happened in less than a second.

However, there were also times when G.o.ds would fail to respond in time. Although he didn’t fear the sneak attack of a weakling and managed to defeat the python, save his subordinate, and avoid the sneak attack aimed at himself, at this moment, a ball of white light suddenly appeared light suddenly appeared in the sky from out of nowhere.

The white light moved incredibly fast and nearly surpa.s.sed natural limits. Tian Zhen felt her entire body turn cold. There was no time to warn him.

Seeing that it was too late to dodge, the Devil G.o.d gave a light hmph and with a wave of his sleeve, sent an energy strike from his palm towards the light while rapidly moving to the side.

For it to make him want to evade, the white light’s power couldn’t be small. Tian Zhen’s heart skipped a beat.

Unsurprisingly, the white light wasn’t dispersed by his energy strike and merely made a slight adjustment in its trajectory before flying straight at his face.

Traces of blood appeared on the G.o.d’s face.

Ignoring Heng Yue-ji who was escaping, Tian Zhen was shocked as she raised her head and looked up at You Po Mountain.

Heng Yue-ji’s abilities simply weren’t capable of being a threat to him. She clearly saw that the white light that had injured him didn’t come from Heng Yue-ji, but from the top of You Po Mountain. As the primordial Death G.o.d, fifty percent of his power was enough to force the combined armies of two realms to retreat. To be capable of seizing the opportunity to mount a sneak attack on him and injuring him, this person was extraordinary.

The Devil G.o.d was unfazed. He evidently knew the origins of the white light. As a seasoned warrior, from the very start he hadn’t feared it. It was just that Heng Yue-ji’s sneak attack had distracted him which caused him to end up in this situation.

Raising a hand to the wound on his face, the Devil G.o.d was enraged. His long, narrow eyes squinted and an icy killing intent appeared in the depths of his eyes.

“Despicable Moon Clan, you want to leave?”

He flipped his palm and sent out a brilliant flame. The silver arc in the sky hadn’t gone far before it was overtaken and struck by the flame. It was like a kite that had had its string cut as it fell. Once the flame went out, there weren’t any signs of movement.

Tian Zhen let out a sigh at the sight.

The G.o.ddess had said that she was someone who never left behind those who could become future problems. Well, now that you’re dead G.o.ddess, I won’t be able to become a future problem for you.

The Devil G.o.d retracted his hand and in the next second, he was standing before her.

“Phoenix, are you hurt?”

“Your Majesty.”

“Crude Phoenix.”

Tian Zhen looked in Heng Yue-ji’s direction and then at the colorful python who was completely still. She was speechless.

Who’s crude? Who’s violent?

The Devil G.o.d leaned over and picked her up: “You didn’t listen to my words. You brought this upon yourself.”

Being held by him like this for the very first time, Tian Zhen felt it a pity that she didn’t have any energy to get worked up over it. After hearing his words, she suddenly realized that she had been tricked by elder heavenly king Lu again.
