Chapter 8.2

Chapter Two –  Ascending A Rank

The silver white covenant formation symbolizing the rules of the universe appeared. The faint silver dots of energy of the Magus Divinity Power Source pa.s.sed onto the body of the Thunder Leopard along Aofeng’s hand. Just like when she had bonded to Liao Ya, the Thunder Leopard was immediately shrouded into a ball of light.

At the same time, Aofeng felt a wave of warmth slowly enter and replenish her empty channels. Not even fifteen minutes later, her magic had been refilled and her wounds had recovered by more than half. She reached the peak level of a senior magister and only stopped when she reached the spirit magister barrier.

Bonding with high star-level magus beasts was of great help to increasing one’s strength. Practising the Magus Divinity Spell for a month did not increase her strength as much as a bonding like this. Aofeng couldn’t help but think, if she bonded with another sacred beast, would she just jump right into being a spirit magister.

However, an abrupt increase in strength easily destabilized the magic power inside one’s body. If one was greedy and bonded again before reinforcing that new power, it was easy to die due to that surge of power. Aofeng only thought about the idea briefly before throwing it away. Any more bonds would have to wait until she became a spirit magister.

When the silver light faded, Aofeng’s mind s.h.i.+fted and she felt the a connection between her and the soul of the Thunder Leopard.

“Ben Lei greets Master, and is grateful for Master’s favor!” The black leopard respectfully crept to Aofeng’s feet and said in a clear male voice in Aofeng’s mind. Under the nourishment of the silver dots of energy from the Magus Divinity Power Source, he had also shot up three star-levels and became a four-star sacred beast. His burnt black fur had once again become s.h.i.+ny and glossy. The white clouds at his paws seemed bigger as well.

Ben Lei was overjoyed at receiving such benefits. He started to admire Aofeng, his master, from his heart. It had been many years since he had experienced rising star-levels without any side effects. Also, based on this bonding experience he felt that if he continued to follow his master, it would not be difficult to level up again.

“Now you know the greatness of Master?” Liao Ya snorted. His golden eyes were full of envy. Just before this, he had been a match for Ben Lei, but now, Ben Lei was much stronger than him.

Ben Lei was both happy and depressed. He sighed and said, “Ah, if I had known this before, I wouldn’t have guarded those three Fire Dragon Fruits so fiercely and refused to give them up. I would have thrown myself into Master’s embrace. The fruit isn’t of great effect for magic beasts sacred rank and above. I admit I was so foolish and attracted the anger of that red-haired boss. Wasn’t I just finding hards.h.i.+p for myself?”

The two sacred beasts had formed a contract with Aofeng and their souls were connected. As a result, they could converse freely, and Aofeng could hear them clearly.

“Throwing yourself into Master’s embrace with looks like yours, don’t give people a fright! Careful you don’t attract Boss Chi out again. At that time, no one can save you!” Liao Ya rolled his eyes. He looked at Ben Lei that was two stories tall and snorted.

“Hey, don’t underestimate people. Are you the only one that knows mimicry? I can’t do it? If you don’t believe, let me throw myself for you to see!” Ben Lei rolled his eyes as he spoke. His figure s.h.i.+fted and the enormous black body shrunk down. Under Aofeng and Liao Ya’s gaze, he shrunk into

an adorable black kitten the size of a hand.

“Meow!” Ben Lei called fawningly. His nimble figure shot into Aofeng’s arms. He said smugly to Liao Ya, “Hahaha, just envy me.”

“Uuh … …” Liao Ya suffered a mental blow. He clearly hadn’t expected Ben Lei’s mimicry state to be so miniature.

Xiao Bing who was in Aofeng’s collar suddenly showed its furry little head and glared with its bright eyes. It waved its tail and chirped smugly. It rubbed against Aofeng’s white face and used its gaze to say, “You are far from being as adorable as me!”

Ben Lei and Liao Ya sweated in embarra.s.sment.

“Alright, you three.” Aofeng laughed helplessly. It hadn’t been too noisy with Xiao Bing and Liao Ya. Now that there was Ben Lei, it was much more lively. There would probably be more liveliness in the future. She rubbed Ben Lei’s head and asked, “Are there any hidden caves nearby?”

“Master is going to consume the Fire Dragon Fruit? There aren’t any caves, but no one comes to this place. This area is my territory, and Boss Chi’s presence just rose from here. Even divine beasts will stay far away for the time being.” Ben Lei said as his eyes showed his lingering fear. He had a deep impression of Chi’s presence. The other just had to stand there and people could not muster up any thoughts of rebelling. It was terrifying.

“Alright, then here. You three protect me and do not let other people approach.” Aofeng commanded and then sat down where she was. Liao Ya and Ben Lei knew the importance of the matter and nodded. When one was in the middle of a breakthrough, a division of attention was the thing to be most wary of. They did not talk any more. They took on their actual form. Including Xiao Bing, they spread out to different vantage points to stand guard.

Her right hand swayed slightly and the transparent and ruby Fire Dragon Fruit appeared in her hand. This fruit was about the size of a peach and all of the flesh was a transparent red. It gathered the purest power in the world. When she took a bite, the juice filled her mouth and fragrance was left on her teeth. The taste was delicious. Aofeng ate the fruit in a few bites and really wasted this worldly delicacy.

After swallowing the Fire Dragon Fruit, Aofeng closed her eyes and sat as though she was in a deep sleep. The mountain valley was extremely quiet with only the rustling of the wind blowing through the long gra.s.ses.

Reciting the Magus Divinity Spell, Aofeng’s eyes seemed to open in the dark. Clear bright channels appeared in her view. Aofeng was not too shocked this time. She once again was looking into her inner world.

She observed her body and found that her channels had broadened. The verdant green magic that flowed within them had reached a terrifying concentration and the color was close to the inky green magic of the spirit magisters. Also, the Magus Divinity Power Source in her core field was still giving off a constant blinding white light, and scattered dots of light would occasionally float out of it.

At this time, a fiery red substance suddenly charged into this circulation inside her organs. Aofeng realized after a moment, this was the power from the Fire Dragon Fruit!

This wave of power was not wild. It gave off glowing red threads that changed the magic in the surroundings. The magic immediately changed into the inky green magic of the spirit magisters when they were infiltrated by the red power. However, after they were mixed with the other verdant green magic, the color would dissipate.

Aofeng clearly watched everything that happened inside her body. She found to

to her joy that the Magus Divinity Power Source seemed to boost the effects of the red power. Whenever some sparks of the Magus Divinity Power Source pa.s.sed by, more of the magic would turn into inky green with the same amount of red power.

Joyfully surprised, Aofeng hurriedly manipulated the white dots that came out of the Magus Divinity Power Source to cover the ball of red power to obtain the greatest effect. While she could not use the Magus Divinity Power Source yet, she could control the power inside her inner organs.

The medicinal effect of the Fire Dragon Fruit was gentle and was not dangerous at all to the body. As a result, this transformation process was extremely long.

She sat in meditation for seven days. At dusk on the seventh day, a slight ripple of power suddenly formed in the little mountain valley. It disturbed the three magus beast that had been standing guard who ran back into the valley and looked in shock at Aofeng.

They saw Aofeng sitting with her eyes closed shrouded in a burst of silver energy. The three-point star pattern of a nine-sword senior magister floated up. A new area squeezed the three points, and another empty silver point suddenly appeared!

These four points formed a rhombus shape like an unusual cross. A small silver sword was drawn out in the newly formed fourth point by the rules of the universe.

This was a phenomenon that would only appear when a magister was ascending in rank. After a transformation of a week, Aofeng finally succeeded and formed the four point spirit star. This meant that she entered the realm of a spirit magister!

A fifteen year old spirit magister surpa.s.sed the record of the great genius of Radiance Magus Church, Jun Luoyu. She was the youngest spirit magister in the history of Radiance Continent!
