Chapter 27: Ambush Mastery II

Zhang Yang hides his bloodl.u.s.t, releasing an Invisibility Talisman.

"Dong!–Dong!"

The Level 4 Walking Zombie lands in the cave, dirty hands forward.

Two other zombies follow behind.

They pa.s.s the entrance and hop into the cave, leaping around the place.

Zhang Yang's body was hidden by the Invisibility Talisman and he used the Yin Qi to his advantage, masking his presence.

Outside the cave, Zhao Da Lu smiles with a face filled with greed: "There seems to be n.o.body in this cave…"

They stopped hesitating after s.h.i.+ Xiong said this, once they all entered the cave, they felt spiritual power flare up around them. But as they sensed this, it was already too late. A circle of fire became visible, then it blew up into a twister.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" They were all swallowed by fire, living fireb.a.l.l.s were running around, roasting alive.

"Ahhhh—-" Their screams full of misery, five seconds later, they were burnt to the point of death. It was a quick death, but one thing didn't burn, their b.l.o.o.d.y coffins had stayed intact. In this narrow cave, a strong smell of well-done meat was radiating. Success! Now that the three corpse refining disciples were dead, their zombies became just as useless as they were.

When zombie puppets lose their masters, they will break off the connection. Once they did, they will become living statues, unmoved even if there was blood in sight.

Zhang Yang climbs out from the shadow, he tagged three Zombie Repression Talismans onto the three puppets. He used these talismans for safety precautions. Then he snags the coffins from the coal lumps. It was only 33 centimeters long but when Zhang Yang uses his spiritual sense, he finds that its length is actually 2 meters and its width is 1 meter.

The design of the b.l.o.o.d.y coffin is similar to that of magical sacks and interspatial rings, it seems even more similar to a spiritual beast bag (A small bag that can hold big spiritual beasts).

Zhao Da Lu's b.l.o.o.d.y coffin can hold about two to three zombies, while the other two can only hold one.

Zhang Yang can also fit inside the coffin, but if he does, his decision would cause his spiritual sense to be blocked for external use, he wouldn't know what goes on outside if he decided to pull himself into the b.l.o.o.d.y coffin. If a human cultivator were to find Zhang Yang in such a coffin, they could easily lock him from the outside.

Zhang Yang throws the puppets back into the coffins one by one.

Zhang Yang repaints the Fire symbols back onto the walls, feeling very accomplished as his sneak attack worked, n.o.body would've guessed that a zombie could have any talisman expertise.

w.a.n.g Yao becomes very impatient, awaiting a tedious group to arrive.

According to the instructions, Zhao Da Lu's group should've already gathered here at noon.

But now it's already the afternoon and they're still not here…

"What if Zhao Da Lu stumbled upon the spring? You think maybe… he got greedy?" Zhang Jun adds.

It was a pretty sunny day, and standing in this heat were the corpse cultivators, they were sweating profusely through their vantablack robes. You could see from their expressions that they were not happy.

"That's ludicrous, how could Zhao Da Lu dare to hog the spring for himself? Does he want to declare war against the whole sect?" w.a.n.g Yao responds with a rather threatening voice.

"There should be treasures that form near the Yin Spring, perhaps maybe he took these treasures and ran away. Otherwise, if they've met with enemies, they should've signaled something. But Zhao Da Lu never seemed like a trustworthy person, he most likely reaped treasures and escaped." Zhang Jun says with a wave of a hand.

"Let's go check! We leave east" w.a.n.g Yao suddenly slams a palm onto a stone, it would be his responsibility if his underling were to escape with treasures.

Yin Wind blew from the cave, valley grounds around the cave were all bone-chillingly cold.  But 100 meters away from the cave was still scorching hot.

Zhang Jun grins as he felt the cold wind: "s.h.i.+ Xiong, this must be the place, only the Yin Spring could produce this type of breeze"

But w.a.n.g Yao, a perceptive man, is wise and keeps his team alert:" Let's still be careful, although it might be the spring, there are some remainings of a fire, if I'm correct, then it must be a Flame Talisman"

"Flame talisman? Maybe it's the guy who fought the lizard…" Zhang Jun's bright smile soon turned into the reciprocal.

w.a.n.g Yao freezes for a while, thinking about the situation, then he with a clear voice, facing the cave: "I do not know who our cultivator friend is here, but I am w.a.n.g Yao from Corpse Refining Sect, can this martial stranger s.h.i.+ne some respect on our sect and come out?"

Zhang Yang remains silent, his gloomy side overtook him. "Pwah…" It seems his Flame Talismans were found out by the corpse cultivator.

"…"

w.a.n.g Yao's voice echoes off the walls of the cave, but n.o.body responded in the end. w.a.n.g Yao's face starts to appear violent: "If this friend should refuse to come out, then that means you aren't giving our sect an ounce of respect, it seems that we must come ourselves…"

"Zhang Jun, you first " w.a.n.g Yao commands while Zhang Jun nods, he and two other black-clothed men summon their zombie puppets. w.a.n.g Yao also retrieves his zombie, the Level 7 Walking Zombie. The undead comes out, dried blood was smeared over its rag-like robe, he smelled of rotting flesh even more than Zhang Yang.

The remaining members of the group were fascinated by the sight of a Level 7 Walking Zombie.

Zhang Yang was watching as the situation unravels outside, one Level 7, one Level 6, one Level 5, and two Level 4s…

If they entered the cave, the situation would be doable, but knowing w.a.n.g Yao, he wouldn't irrationally rush in. He's a careful man, the talismans won't have any effect on him.

While ranting, Zhang Yang uses another Invisibility Talisman.

Three zombies hop to the entrance of the cave in an organized manner.

"No one inside?" Zhang Jun questions with a mischievous smile.

"s.h.i.+ Xiong, let me go first" Zhang Jun declares, full of confidence.

"No! You go first!" w.a.n.g Yao stays careful, pointing at a chubbier fatty next to him.

Senior w.a.n.g takes out a black bottle and drips fluids from the bottle onto the fatty's eyes, then proceeds to chant some mysterious spells. The fatty's eyes turn royal blue, Senior w.a.n.g then led the fatty into the cave, ashamed for using his minion as bait.
