Romance Is In The Air Volume 3 Chapter 2 Part2

Alrighty, here’s the next part in Young Miss! I know that this isn’t a full chapter so I’m going to post the full Chapter 3 tomorrow~ It’s partly a bonus for partic.i.p.ating in the short story quiz wheeeeee and it’s partly to make up for the fact that this is only a half chapter~

Ceng Li is a little…dense. All I can say lol. Also her brother really shows up at the best moments hehe. This short story honestly doesn’t have me that hooked because it’s just way too silly and the chapters are just so long and full of dialogue~ I do not understand why this is the longest short story in the Romance is in the Air collection lol.

Chapter 2.2

As we walked along the streets, I took deep breaths to make my shoulders look wider. I opened up the fan and used it to block my chest. Then, I asked Cui'er, "Can you still tell that this place is higher than some of my other body parts?"

Cui'er whispered, "From the front no; but from the back, yes!"

Thus, I made Cui'er block me from the side, as we stuck to the walls…

I was blocked from both sides, so now no one could tell, right?!

When we walked past the biggest restaurant in town, my head suddenly got hit with something.

It didn't hurt that much, but it felt like someone was scattering flowers over the earth*…

TLN: scattering flowers over the earth: This is actually a Chinese idiom that is used to characterize something that is dripping or being scattered, or to describe the way snow falls.

Cui'er s.n.a.t.c.hed something off of my head, and showed it to me. Extremely emotional, she yelled, "Miss, look, it's melon seed skins!"

I immediately became angry.

It was okay that melon seed skins were flying around, it was okay that they fell onto my head, BUT the important point was: PLEASE do not make your melon seed skins wet! When they fall onto my head I will feel very disgusted, okay?!

I immediately looked up and crossed my arms and put my hands on my waist as I angrily roared, "WHO? Who threw these melon seed skins?"

From the second floor, a gentleman looked out. When he saw me, his eyes narrowed, and he chuckled. "Yo? Who's miss is this who is dressed up like a man?"

I stared blankly for a moment. Then, I turned and asked Cui'er, "He can actually see through me?"

Cui'er rolled her eyes and said, "Miss, I beg of you, you literally put your hands on your hips and then cupped your hands over the mountains on your chest like that after he called out to you. If anyone can't tell you are a woman, they are BLIND."

I immediately shrunk myself. Then, I lifted my head again and angrily said to the gentleman, "Hey! What family are you from? Have your elders never told you that you shouldn't randomly throw around the melon seed skins after you crack the melon seeds?!"

The gentleman rested on the windowsill as he happily answered my question with his question. "Then, what residence are you from? Have your elders never taught you that a daughter shouldn't be frolicking around the marketplace dressed like a man?"

I righteously reminded him, "Hey! I asked you first!"

He answered, "Alright, I am the second son of a high official's residence. It's your turn!"

I thought about it. Since he was two, then why don't I also say I was two. Everyone can be two together and be harmonious!

Thus, I calmly told him, "I am the Second Miss of the richest Ceng family."

He gave a long "oh", and turned around to look into the room. Then, he turned back around and asked me, "You are the second miss of the Ceng family?" His voice was very strange, almost as if he wanted to ask people to give respects to his younger sister.

I impatiently waved my hand, "Yes, yes! Hey! Shouldn't you apologize to me?"

He casually said an apology. Then, he asked me, "Do you know Ceng Yan?"

Pffffff. I laughed and said, "Do you know that high official?"

He laughed, "Aren't you afraid that your brother will punish you by making you  kneel in front of your ancestors because you snuck out to stroll around while dressed as a guy?"

I rolled my eyes at him. "Aren't you afraid your dad will punish you by making you  sweep the huge alleyways because you're salivating into the street?"

He looked back into the room again, almost as if he was talking to someone. Then he turned around and hooked his finger at me. "You come up!"

I also hooked a finger back at him, "You come down!"

He blinked at me, "Your brother wants you to come up!"

I pointed at his chest, "Your sister wants you to come down!"

All of a sudden, my eyelids kept blinking as if I had pulled a tendon…

What had he just said?

Your brother wants you to come up??

Your brother!!!

I ma.s.saged my eyes and lifted my head to look up carefully.

A forehead was currently slowly emerging into view in the window…

When I saw whose forehead it was, the fan in my hand fell onto the ground with a bang…

That person stood on the second floor and reached a finger out in a hooking motion, "Come up."

I felt a chilly wind blow past my body in that moment…
