Personally I loved the previous chapter and knowing what I know, I love it even more. Makes it disappointing that I didn't set any new records for most replies, just the most replies per views ratio.

I also really like how most comments nowadays are less negative and more positive. I still don't like 'Thanks 4 chapter' comments so much, not sure why people do them.

Also a note regarding Lily as this won't be mentioned later in the story.

It was dependency.

Yeah.

Non-action based and centered on a grumpy old man in a world where VR is everything, its very well written. However it may take a few chapters to fall in love.

I'm warning you.

Entering world in 5

. . . . . . . . .

Entering world in 2

Entering world in 1

Entered world: ???

I stood back in the giant room, open skies about me with a throne sitting in the center of the room before me. And sitting on the throne, expressionless face as he looked at me, sat the G.o.d.

G.o.d of Magic

I'm angry yes, upset yes. But I'm not stupid. When I was last here, all those months ago he said I can ask one question. And after I ask that question, he's going to get rid of me. So I can't ask him a question.

He won't listen to me if I rant, so I'm not going to rant.

And if I just talk, I'll easily slip up or he may take something as a question. So I'm not going to say a word.

And as to why I'm not asking the question, its because I want to see how far I can push things. How much ground will he give before he pushes back.

And so, standing there silently with no way to keep track of time, I waited.

Time pa.s.sed, my thoughts flickered and ideas appeared and disappeared. I didn't get tired nor did I get hungry. In this realm I suffered no discomfort as I stood there waiting.

Bored, I began to meditate as I looked about the vast room, spying giant globs of the formless mana floating about. Eying them with vast interest, I soon noticed that all other forms of magic in here did not seem to exist. And when I looked directly at the G.o.d, he seemed to disappear within a giant ma.s.s of mana.

Caught in my interest, I was soon absorbed in studying the floating mana until finally, he broke the silence.

"What is your question"

Looks like he doesn't have infinite patience.

"Send me home"

He didn't say anything more, just sat there as he watched me.

Finally, he spoke.

"Your third world, this will be your homeworld. A week to complete a quest there"

"And the second world?" I asked tensely, hating the idea of spending more time away.

"You will spend two months there. Having answered your question, goodbye"

Opening my mouth to scream obscenities at him, hating him for the length of time I was to stay and the single week I was given. I didn't have time to react.

In seemingly slow motion as I all too slowly began to react, a runic circle inscribed in blue light under my feet, scribbling faster than I could make a sound.

Circle upon circle, tiny drawings and foreign letters brightly s.h.i.+ning as they appeared, finis.h.i.+ng with a glare as several lines began to rise through the air criss-crossing about me rapidly.

The very next second as I mentally wailed in rage, my vision exploded into a rainbow as my ears went deaf from sudden lack of sound, a quest appeared and a window begin to count down.

Entering world in 214 seconds

With the long and lengthly pause, I couldn't help but calm down. Feeling empty after the rush of anger and rage that rushed though me. I left Lily there, unable to say much or do anything to prevent me from leaving.

Then the G.o.d throws me away, sending me on another trip I do not wish to take. How can I not be angry. But I can't do anything. Forced to calm down as I'm subjected to my own thoughts.

This is quite boring. Can't see a thing. All disorientating bright lights, too bright to recognise any colors and a total absence of sound.

My inventory works, but I can't see a thing. Have to do everything by feel. I also don't dare take stones out and throw them away from me, that's just asking for trouble. And of course, the countdown window flashes in my vision even with eyes closed.

And conveniently, that's when I discovered I could view my stats and skills with my eyes closed. Just too lazy to display it.

Entering world in 1 seconds

A blinding flash of blueish white light that seared through my eyelids, half-blinded my eyes opened and as I adjusted there we stood. Five in a drawn circle of runes, runes formed of crushed white crystal which slowly faded in color even as we recovered.

Discovered new world: Aurge

With blurred vision I looked about, eyesight rapidly recovering even as I saw the surrounding ring of men, spears pointed towards us.

For a few seconds I couldn't even make out what their nameplates said, my pained eyes couldn't seem to read them.

Then I recovered and I was startled.

Cole lv.18 Spearsman

This is trouble.

Looking at the others inside the surrounding circle of spearsmen, my fears were not smoothed.

Josh Carter lv.2 Student

Kira Harris lv.1 Student

Mark Nelson lv.2 Student

Rob Barnes lv.3 Student

It seems so obvious now, this world is a summoning. And those spearsmen, the way they were glaring at the five of us made it obvious that something had happened. And that something was probably me.

A girl with short black hair and impish face, two boys with blond hair, one short and one tall. The last boy being average looking with black hair. The girl and one of the blond boys were dressed in different school uniforms, the other two dressed causally.

The quality of their clothes were a far cry from my own handmade clothing, even when my own clothes were of higher quality, they were obviously different. My own clothes of a different style, fabrics handwoven and richly dyed for a special occasion, for a coronation.

Their ages were also below mine, 16-17 years old when I was nearing 19. Conveniently enough my beard still hasn't kicked in, not even tiny hairs. I shouldn't look too different, but I'm definitely older than them.

I stand out when compared, no real choice then. I'm going to stand out, and I'm going to be the bystander.

As they rubbed their eyes and recovered, I slipped easily into my new role as I let slip a confused look onto my face.

"Where are we?" I asked a nearby guard, almost forgetting in the moment that he wouldn't understand me.

He ignored me, using his spear to keep me at a distance inside the circle of spearsmen. Looking about, I could count 15 of them. All pointing spears towards the five of us.

"This can't be happening" my face collapsed, look of distress creeping over me as I looked about.

The taller blond guy spoke, "Where is this?" Rob muttered, rubbing his eyes as he squinted, the other three copying his actions as they moved about.

"Its another world" I spoke heavily, face collapsed into distress.

"Another world?" Kira turned to me, slowly seeing my face as her vision cleared.

"Yes, I don't know where it is. But this place isn't anything like Earth. Its mana concentration is completely different"

"Mana?" Rob probed.

"Magic, I dabbled in spells at home, but never had seen a place as rich in mana as this"

"So you are a wizard then, know why we are here?" Josh asked calmly, seemingly too calmly for the situation.

Josh is the blackhaired boy, leaving Mark as the shorter blond boy. They all had average looks, nothing special.

They all seem too calm about this, is it their natural deposition or is there another factor at play?

I continued to wear a look of distress on my face as I replied, "I don't know. I'm here because I tried to latch on the surge of mana I sensed, but couldn't separate from it when I realized it was too strong"

As they probed me with questions, the guards continued to ignore us as I answered their questions with what I knew. Shying away from the topics that would expose me as someone special.

My ident.i.ty as a mage on earth, I wanted that to be established. It would explain my being here, and should release me from most responsibilities.

G.o.d forbid they find out how strong I am.

The summoners who brought us here shouldn't work openly against me, as I tried to create a relations.h.i.+p with the other four I worked with this purpose in mind. If we are together, the situation should work out in my favor.

At this point, I knew they are all from the Earth I know and its been several months, they didn't know each other nor did they mention of an invasion which means the Bolgian Empire hasn't struck.

As we talked, alarmingly it was incredibly obvious that I was the one that the guards were on guard against. They couldn't understand what I said, yet when the other four students spoke they seemed to understand what was being said. From this, they changed as a group to watching me and my movements. Thankfully not doing anything, waiting for some sort of signal.

With a fair amount of mana in the air and the summoning circle on the ground, this world evidentially had mages. The high levels of the spearsmen proved that this world was going to be amongst the most difficult yet. I didn't dare make trouble.

As I 'calmed down' the time pa.s.sed, our conversation dying down as we exhausted the lines of topics. My own questions unable to be answered without exposing the months I had been gone, the guards unwilling to talk to the other four.

The guards were waiting for someone, and judging from the slow summoning they had plenty of time to be alarmed the moment the G.o.d had hijacked their summoning spell.

Perhaps the spearsmen here were meant to be fodder with a trap sprung the moment they are attacked. I don't know.

Taking a quick glance around, the room was made of polished marble, no blemishes or places to hide. Small sunken slots in the sides of the hall and roof giving off gentle light. At the side of the square room was a small simple wooden door.

The air was cold, breath puffing out in small clouds as we waited patiently. They had long given up on addressing the ever silent guards.

But really, the G.o.d hijacked a summoning?

Seriously?

Eventually the door opened, it seemed it was time. Footsteps sounded as a procession of guards walked through, a man following safely behind them.

Ceil lv.11 Duke

What's with his level? Is everyone strong in this world?

The procession forming a wall between us and the door, the duke spoke from behind his guards. He spoke pure nonsense.

"Roi'r gorau i redeg hyn drwy gyfieithydd, Im 'yn ceisio i esgus yw hyn yn iaith arall nad yw'n ddealladwy. Hefyd enw'r dug yw Leonard"

He paused for breath as the others about me reacted with surprise.

s.h.i.+t.

"What's he saying?" I asked Josh in a hushed voice, "I can't understand a word"

Looking at me for a second, he glanced towards the duke and quickly spoke

"He said welcome, that he's King Leonard, he summoned us and would like to know our names" he hurriedly explained, before introducing himself with a loud voice.

"I'm Josh"

Sure he's the king..

Kira spoke next, "Kira, my name has a i"

Before the either of the blonds could speak, I introduced myself. "Jon" I said simply.

The taller blond introduced himself, then the shorter blond.

The duke asked another question, looking at me as he did so. And as one, the four glanced at me.

Oh boy.

Hesitantly I smiled as I began to explore my escape options. Maybe I can fly out? Stun them with the aura, cast a spell on myself and get moving before they can react.

Definitely shouldn't cast the spell yet, if there's a single mage here then they'll know that I'm preparing myself for something.

The duke then asked something else, and Josh took the liberty of speaking up.

"He doesn't understand what you are saying"

The duke said something else, Josh turned to me. "I'll be translating" he explained simply.

Waiting until Josh finished talking, the duke asked a question as he watched me.

"He wants to know who you are" Josh spoke normally, then answered the question from what I had told him earlier.

"He said he was practicing magic back on our world when he saw the mana. He tried to take it or something, but was dragged with it"

The duke watched me as he mulled over those words, indecision on his face before he finally spoke a few words.

Josh translated. "You will be escorted with us, don't make trouble"

I smiled a little, seemingly nervous as I replied "Don't worry".

"He accepts" Josh called.

The duke barked a few words, then left the room. Half the guards followed him, the others forming a honor guard about us, spears no longer pointed but always ready for action. Every guard seemed to be eyeing me, the others already forgotten.

As we moved through the wooden door in the middle of the escort, I noticed immediately that the pa.s.sage was of chiselled stone, a path mined from solid rock with the air chilled. We are underground?

As we were escorted through the corridor, several pa.s.sages branched off our own haphazardly in a maze style as we turned and moved, seemingly randomly choosing the paths to walk. We couldn't do anything but follow in their steps, air filled with the sound of marching.

Taking several breaks as we walked, I began to recognise places we had been before, such as that funny looking crack in the wall. Finally we took a new path, walking seemingly a thousand meters before leaving the darkened underground into fresh light and fresh air.

You have entered Queen's Palace

Theres a king's palace?

Emerging from a bas.e.m.e.nt, we were moved through the palace. Unlike the glamor of the summoning room, the paths we took ensured we moved through rooms of normal stood or carved wood. Nothing matched up to the splendor we originally saw.

Seeing other people as we marched by, they all turned to stare and watch us five as we pa.s.sed them, my own escort two thick even as the others walked relatively unmolested.

I could no longer spy the duke ahead of us either, presumably he took the easy way out of the maze.

We walked through one last doorway, grandly sized with doors inlayed of polished wood.

You have entered Queen's Throne Room

Oh, the duke is sitting on the queen's throne.

Isn't he embarra.s.sed to sit there? There's not even a queen in sight.

Layer of three guards before the throne, the escort marched about the room and took up pre-a.s.signed positions before a small crowd of n.o.bles. We were left there abandoned in the center of the room.

Eyeing the people about us, I mirrored the impressed expressions of the students with a touch of nervousness on my face. The nervousness wasn't completely faked though. I'm definitely not that welcome and hoped things would turn out ok.

Funny enough I couldn't spot anyone of royalty in the crowd. They are very cautious.

"Cyfieithydd gwyrdroi!" the duke boomed from the throne.

"He says welcome" Josh whispered.

"Peidiwch â cyfieithu llinellau hyn! fyddwch cael siomi!"

"Summoned heroes from another world"

Oh G.o.d.

The not-king then launched into a grand speech, establis.h.i.+ng the victim and the provoker as he wove his tale of grief and rage. Josh's brief and sometimes dry translations the only thing that made it bearable.

It may have made for a grand story, the others certainly seemed to be getting into it. But I'm definitely not going to be joining this quest.

"And so, they want us to go stop him" Josh finished.
