Chapter 9 part 2
After Qing Feng heard that, she was suddenly frightened and while quivering, she kneeled on the ground and begged for forgiveness endlessly.
Qing Feng unexpectedly took the beating, but ignored her task to leave. Regardless, no matter how much she kowtowed until her forehead bled, Ouyang Nuan was not moved. She felt stiff and continued to bow.
In her last life, even if Qing Feng was not an accomplice, she also did not exhaust any effort to help Jue’er. Such a slave should not be allowed to stay.
Ouyang Nuan glanced at Jue’er, who Qing Feng was now begging for forgiveness, but the young boy just shrunk back his neck. Qing Feng’s evil look was soon to be replaced with self-pity, and then turned to curry favor with him.
“Lui’er, Cui’er, come out!”
The two girls were both delicate and charming. Unfortunately, Ouyang Nuan looked at them disdainfully, and loudly reprimanded them.
“You call these servants?!”
They were so fancy! Like hitching a ride to the sky on the dragon and phoenix. It was a pity the price was too high, couldn’t afford it.
“Later, you will both go serve in the kitchen, okay?”
Lui’er and Cui’er’s faces both turned deathly white while they begged for forgiveness. Ouyang Nuan simply waved her hands, dismissing them to let them go tidy up their things.
Lui’er immediately shouted, “Eldest Miss is not fair!
I refuse to obey!
“I usually do not make mistakes. Today, I was also guarding the yard. Why should you send me to the kitchen for a few slanderous rumors? I am part of the madam’s people, not part of Eldest Miss’ people.”
Ouyang Nuan’s eyes turned gloomy, and she faintly smiled.
“Xin mama, go tell her.”Xin mama promptly approached her.
Paaaaaaaak!
A cloud and clear slap hit Lui’er small, white jade face. Instantly, it started swelling.
Xin mama cursed at her.“Lowly wench! Who are you to order Eldest Miss. Currently, this courtyard Master found the two of you both to be incompetent! You dare answer the Eldest Miss back? Where did you learn etiquette?! You dare sprout these useless words again, and this one will break your mouth!”
Ouyang Jue did not like these servant girls. They always winked and flirted with him, irritating him with their flattering behavior. He was extremely bothered with it. That coupled with the blatant disrespect towards his older sister he just witnessed, he loudly commanded, “Drag her out! Beat her with 30 planks!”
Lui’er’s face was covered in tears. She wanted to stay, but could not resist Mu mama’s strength.
“Stop!” Ouyang Nuan spoke abruptly.
Lui’er waits expectantly, “In the end, Eldest Miss is worried about the Madam, right? You changed your decision?”
Ouyang Nuan slowly and deliberately shot her a glance. Lui’er’s hopes were suddenly smashed. Ouyang Nuan said, “You forgot to give thanks for the favor you received.”
Lui’er’s face filled with tears, her lips quivering. She abruptly realized that her life and death were in Ouyang Nuan’s hands. She kneeled down and kowtowed, “Thank you, Eldest Miss! Thank you, Eldest Miss!
Even though she already felt weak, Lui’er continued thanking her. Ouyang Nuan softly stirred her tea, the action seemingly irrelevant. She spoke to the person next to Lui’er.
“Lui’er has been convinced. Cui’er, what about you? Would it be good if we send you back to the madam?”
Sending her back to Madam Lin was not good, she would definitely suffer and so would her mother. Cui’er turned gloomy and felt full of hatred towards Lui’er. The more words she spoke, the more implicated she would be. Cui’er’s arrogance seemed to have made itself scarce, as both legs turned soft and she trembled as she kneeled down.
Ouyang Nuan faintly said, “Today, you choose. Where do you want to go?”
Cui’er felt that these cold words were terrifying. She repeatedly kowtowed, but became speechless. Xin mama let out a despicable laugh, and called out for a person to move her.
Ouyang Nuan glanced at Xin mama. Xin mama was suddenly still, the vigor of a moment ago could not be seen. Ouyang Nuan smiled, “Xin mama, you are the elder of this courtyard. I have always respected you deeply. Unfortunately, this was the first time you let grandmother become disappointed. Because you are the steward, if I do not deal with you, it will be difficult to convince the rest that I am in charge.”
Xin mama felt cold sweat flow down her back. But Ouyang Nuan continued to speak, “Nevertheless, deduct half a year of payment, understand?”
Xin mama wiped her tears. Although half a year of payment deduction cannot be described as a light punishment, compared to those young servant girls, it was much better. That moment ago, that way was really made efforts in a.s.sisting eldest miss tidying those two girls as expected got very effective result.
“Afterwards?” Ouyang Nuan prompted.
“Eldest Miss, please be at ease. In the future, I will certainly stake this old life to manage this courtyard properly.” Xin mama’s face was full of loyalty.
Ouyang Jue’s long eyelashes blinked, his black eyes constantly flas.h.i.+ng as he tried to please her, “Older sister, outside is cold. Come inside the room!”
Ouyang Nuan smiled warmly after she gave everyone in the yard a quick look. Pine Bamboo Courtyard became as quiet as a cemetary.
She smiled, “Good.”
