Primordial Blood Throne: Book 1 Chapter 46 – Foolish Girl

Edited by Owner

“What did you say? You’re undergoing another Deep Red Discipline?”

The hoa.r.s.e voice of Night Charm suddenly became high pitched as though her toe was being clamped by the door.

Behind the black cloth over her face, a pair of angry and puzzled eyes glared at Su Chen, her tone returned hoa.r.s.e as she asked, “What have you done?”

“Nothing much, just gave Su Qing a beating.”

“A big one?”

Su Chen tilt his head and pondered. “Well not really, just a broken nose, dropped two teeth, a ripped left ear, engorged eyes, likely hard to see for three days, oh and a broken right arm…I controlled myself, these were all injuries that could be healed.”

Night Charm sucked in a cold breath. She could imagine Su Qing’s state and the anger of her family members.

Of course, their anger was eventually suppressed in the end with Su Chen’s declaration of “I choose Deep Red Discipline”.

On that day, every member of the family looked at Su Chen as though he had gone crazy.

They were unable to imagine nor unable to understand.

“Why did you do that?” Night Charm asked.

“I want to achieve a breakthrough; I want to obtain the bloodline of the Cloud Bat; and I want to make myself even stronger. I want to happily beat up the person I want to beat up.”

In a certain sense, his words were genuine.

Night Charm was speechless.

After a moment, she said with difficulty: “Being able to return from the Deep Red Mountain Range once, doesn’t mean that you can return a second time. Do you know what type of people die the fastest within the Deep Red Mountain?”

“Weak ones?” Su Chen asked.

“No.” Night Charm shook her head. “Weak people know that they are weak and will not force themselves in the first place. They will constantly be careful, placing their survival as their most important mission,;they will not easily venture into dangerous places. The types that die the fastest, were normally those with a certain level of strength and had experience surviving in the mountain range. As they had succeeded in coming out of the Deep Red Mountain Range, they would feel that they have adapted to that place; because they had become stronger than before, they felt that they could venture into places that were more dangerous; because they had confidence, therefore they contempt the danger…the moment when they let their guard down, was also be the moment their death arrived.”

Su Chen s.h.i.+vered.

Night Charm might have had her moments of mental lapses but her words earlier were very correct.

Su Chen himself was indeed like what she said. After experience the Deep Red Discipline once and safely returning, he instinctively had a contemptuous view on the dangers of the Deep Red Mountain Range. He had even decided to venture deeper into the mountain range this time, hoping to meet more Fiend Beast, to save more time.

This was a very frightening, very lethal train of thought; this meant that he would encounter even greater dangers.

Maybe, he could escape one danger after another but all there needed to be was for him to fail even once…and there would be no after!

Thinking all of this, Su Chen gave Night Charm a respectful bow. “Thank you for your lesson, I have underestimated the risks of the Deep Red Mountain Range and overestimated myself.”

Night Charm did not expect Su Chen to be a person who listened and felt very pleased. “You are still okay, at least you are teachable.”

Acting a look of being old and experience.

Su Chen laughed in his heart.

Night Charm continued, “Since that’s the case, then you won’t go?”

Su Chen shook his head. “I still have to go, I have already beat up the person, there’s no looking back. I was referring to my mindset that needs to be paid attention to. I must make even more preparations, be more careful, be more prudent but I will never give-up easily. Initially, I had planned to borrow just the Ink Pattern Battle Blade and Purple Crystal Armor, now, I think it is better if I borrow all four Origin Armaments again. Oh right, I will also need more Soul Rending Spell Marbles and potions.”

Night Charm was annoyed. “Why do I feel that goodwill has only made you want to extort us even more?”

“Ai, what extortion? So unpleasantly spoken. This is called mutual a.s.sistance, what’s more, I am not borrowing without any plans for a return. Didn’t I return them properly the last time?” Su Chen tried to defend himself.

“The consumables weren’t returned.”

“Fine, I will cover my own Origin Stone expenditures. As for the spell marbles and potions, just quote me a price, treat it as though I am buying them. Is that good enough? Of course, since they were defective goods, I hope it will be cheap. After buying the technique and skills from you guys, I really had not much left.”

“If that’s the case…” Night Charm touched her chin. “It’s not impossible but let me return to ask.”

The next night, Night Charm came again.

Going straight to the point, “After the leaders have discussed it, they have agreed to lend you the four Origin Armaments, on top of that, the Soul Rending Spell Marbles and potions will be given to you for free. Rest a.s.sured, they are not defective this time, no additional payment needed.”

“So good?” Su Chen never believed that there’s free meals in this world.

“We just need you to do one task for us.” Night Charm said.

“What is it?”

“The Su Family seems to be importing some goods from Han River recently?”

Su Chen smiled. “You are referring to those wholesale lumber from Sheng Xing Company? Correct, my Third Uncle, Su Fei Hu, is overseeing its transportation, why? You guys have need for this batch of lumber?”

“Of course not, we hope that you can help smuggle something for us.

“Smuggle?” Su Chen seems to understand something. “Prohibited itelms?”

“No, we simply do not wish for some of our enemies to find out.”

“If it is not related to opposing the government, it can be considered. However, just this amount of benefits might not be enough.”

“What do you want?”

“When I bought the skills from you, I used the floating cash of my properties. Although it wasn’t a lot but it still caused some cashflow problems.”

“We will pay you three hundred Origin Stones.”

“A thousand.”

“Hey, we are only asking you to smuggle some goods!” Night Charm’s eyes glared.

“If you wish to lead a clan’s young master astray, how could you not be prepared to spend this bit of money,” Su Chen drawled.

Night Charm was stupefied before she broke into a smile. “So you noticed.”

Suddenly asking Su Chen to smuggle something without reason, must they really use the Su Family in the first place?

Su Chen didn’t think so.

How come after he completed Deep Red Discipline, this mysterious organization would still so ardently help him, even willing to offer him rare Origin Skills like Spirit Eye to learn; and even willing to sell them at a cheap price?

It was because they wished to build a closer relations.h.i.+p with him!

If one were to think about the dead Lin Xie, you would notice that this organization was currently trying to rope in people.

These people might be Origin Masters with powerful cultivations, or might be officials with high positions; they of course can be the young masters of an influential family clan.

They could even rope in Lin Xie, a branch member of the Lin family, why would they not attempt to rope in Su Chen?

What’s more, if they succeed, then the risk of their plans being leaked would minimize.

Since the other party had learnt their secrets, yet they cannot kill him, then might as well try to entice him to join them.

This is also not a bad train of thought.

With that same logic, Su Chen also had no reasons to reject their attempt to draw him in.

After drawing a line with the Su Family, as a youth who temporarily had no ability to move on with his own strength, he did need a new patron to rely on, even if that patron might bring him countless troubles in the future.

Therefore, when he requested to buy skills earlier on, he was trying to provide a reason for the other party to make the step and apparently, the other party took the hint and offered him valuable skills to pick, even selling them at a discounted price, therefore, creating the necessary cooperation to go on.

This led to the current probing and roping in.

To lure someone deeper, you had to do it one step at a time.

“If the lure is big enough, even if I know it’s bait, I will still bite it.” Su Chen drawled. “I am not worried about selling myself, I am just worried that I am selling myself too cheaply.”

“Fine, one thousand Origin Stones it is. May we have a pleasant cooperation!” Night Charm emphasized on the word ‘cooperation’ as she spoke.

“May we have a pleasant cooperation,” Su Chen replied with a similar tone.

After that, he said, “By the way, since we are now friends, you should stop with that voice when we speak in the future, let me hear your original tone.”

“This…” Night Charm hesitated for a moment.

“So what if you are a woman, do you need to hide it even now?”

Night Charm immediately stared wide-eyed. “You know that I am a woman?”

Su Chen replied an answer that made her angry,

“Only by being a woman, would people be able to tolerate a foolish a.s.sa.s.sin like you.”
