Chapter 195 – Grandfather’s warning
A group of people from Long Clan, under the leaders.h.i.+p of a middle-aged man clad in a golden robe, approached the contingent of Zhentian sect.
Long Yu recognized them, since they all had a striking resemblance to him.
“It’s the chief of Long Clan, Long Ruotian!”
Baiyun Zhong’s expression sunk as he told Long Yu in a low voice.
Long Ruotian, the chief of Long Clan, was clad in a golden silk robe. His face was stern and he possessed quite a tyrannical strength. Although he hadn’t reached the realm of unity Heaven and Man yet, he was definitely far more powerful than Baiyun Zhong.
More importantly, Long Ruotian was the father of Long Ce and Long Ji.
For Long Yu, Long Ruotian was his uncle. He was the brother of his father, Long Zaitian.
Long Yu was sure that they were coming for him, but he didn’t know exactly what they wanted from him.
Long Yu had earlier injured his two sons, Long Ji and Long Ce. Perhaps these people were there to avenge Long Ji and Long Ce.
“Sovereign Baiyun, it seems that you are doing well.”
Long Ruotian spoke to Baiyun Zhong. A strong, murderous aura was being released by his body which soon enveloped all the disciples of Zhentian sect!
Each and every person of Long Clan was a fierce warrior. They had comprehended Blood Dragon principle and practiced Blood Dragon techniques; so naturally, their murderous aura was far stronger than that of any ordinary martial expert.
Although Long Ruotian had greeted Baiyun Zhong in a civilized way, his murderous aura was giving away a sense of domination to Baiyun Zhong as well as his disciples.
Unfortunately for Long Ruotian, Baiyun Zong was not a person who could easily be scared off, in spite of having a lower cultivation level.
Seeing Long Ruotian, he lightly rubbed his beard and spoke with poise, “Chief of Long Clan, how are you doing?”
He emphasized on the words ‘Chief of Long Clan’ to remind Long Ruotian of his position and how he attained it.
Had Long Zaitian not been exiled by Chu Chao Sheng, Long Ruotian would’ve never become the chief of Long Clan!
However, after being the chief of Long Clan for so many years, Long Ruotian was not at all bothered by Baiyun Zhong’s words.
He tilted his head slightly, looked towards Long Yu standing along with other disciples of Zhentian sect and said, “Baiyun Zhong, this boy is the son of a traitor. He can’t stay alive for too long. He will soon be dead!”
“A traitor’s son? Will soon be dead?”
Baiyun Zhong chuckled, “Are you really going to kill him?”
Obviously, he implied that Long Ruotian should better not even think about killing Long Yu.
Hearing Baiyun Zhong’s words, Long Ruotian sneered and said, “I needn’t come here if I was going to kill him. The sole purpose of my arrival is to convey my father’s words – Long Yu, if you want to stay alive, you must leave the Tang kingdom as soon as possible!”
Long Ruotian’s father?
Long Yu didn’t know his grandfather was still alive!
He had heard earlier that when all his family went against him, it was only his grandfather who still cared about him and that he did all he could to keep Long Yu safe. He had been quietly suppressing all the forces that wanted to harm his grandson, Long Yu.
However, he had unexpectedly sent a warning now! What did he mean?
Obviously, it was impossible for Long Yu to leave the Tang kingdom all of a sudden, especially while the seven sects’ compet.i.tion was still going on.
Long Yu’s grandfather didn’t know that no matter how dangerous situation might be, Long Yu would always find a way to survive.
His Nine Hidden Dragon mark and the Nine Hidden Dragon Zhenling were the hidden cards which could kill even the strongest of opponents!
If he could congeal Nine Hidden Dragon Zhenling ent.i.ty, any martial artist within the Zhenling realm would be easily suppressed by it!
His nine hidden dragon qi burst was sufficient to deter any person in the entire Tang kingdom. Anyone would be as frightened of the Nine Hidden Dragon qi as Elder Wu Jianxin had been.
Since Long Yu had stepped into Zhenling fourth layer, he wondered how devastating the effect of nine hidden dragon qi would be now.
Certainly, Long Yu wouldn’t use these hidden cards until it was absolutely necessary since these were the most powerful techniques in his a.r.s.enal.
Whatever might be the case, Long Yu would never use these techniques to kill someone until and unless his own life was in danger.
A wise rabbit has three burrows, so why wouldn’t Long Yu have some back-up plan?
[TL: ‘A wise rabbit has three burrows’ is a Chinese idiom which means ‘a sly individual always keeps more than one plan ready’.]
He had to ensure his safety at all costs.
“Now that you’ve heard what I had to say, I will stay here no longer.”
Long Ruotian had a final glance at Long Yu and finally turned around to leave with the other people of Long Clan.
As the people of Long Clan left, the disciples of Zhentian sect heaved a sigh of great relief. The intense murderous aura of Long Ruotian had made it difficult for them to breathe!
However, Long Ruotian’s words had made the Zhentian disciples look at Long Yu with curiosity.
Would Long Yu leave the Tang kingdom?
They all knew that Zhentian sect had invested all its resources in Long Yu, and that Long Yu and Bu Xing were the only hopes of Zhentian sect in the seven sects’ compet.i.tion. It would be very selfish of Long Yu to abandon his sect at such a crucial moment.
“Long Yu, you should leave the Tang kingdom as soon as possible.”
Baiyun Zhong said with a dignified face, “Young Long, your grandfather has always protected you silently. None of his warnings would be frivolous. Since he has sent his own son to convey the message, your stay in the Tang kingdom might put you in some dangerous circ.u.mstances.”
“Yes, Brother Long.”
Bu Xing nodded in agreement with Baiyun Zhong, “For a person of your talent, even entering the realm of unity of heaven and man wouldn’t be difficult at all. None of us would like to let you put yourself in any danger just for the sake of winning this seven sects’ compet.i.tion.”
“Sovereign, Brother Bu, I don’t agree with you.”
Long Yu shook his head and said resolutely, “I am not going anywhere until the seven sects’ compet.i.tion is over. Our Zhentian sect has invested a lot of resources and hopes in me. How can I disappoint so many people?”
“You… Oh…!”
Baiyun Zhong sighed.
He had thought of helping Long Yu escape the Tang kingdom so that he could enhance his strength and come back as a warrior who would be more powerful than Chu Chao Sheng. But of what use it would be if Zhentian sect would’ve already succ.u.mbed to Chu Chao Sheng by then?
Baiyun Zhong had always believed Long Yu to emerge out more powerful than Chu Chao Sheng!
But, would Long Yu’s strength be of any help to Zhentian sect if the sect ceased to exist by the time Long Yu would’ve returned?
However, the firm look on Long Yu’s face made it clear to everyone that neither Bu Xing, nor Baiyun Zhong could make him change his mind and make him leave.
Long Yu’s tenacity made everyone afraid to speak to him any further on this topic.
After watching his fellow disciples having to concede during the first round, it was impossible for Long Yu to abandon his sect just to save his own life.
He was just waiting for his turn to fight in the seven sects’ compet.i.tion so that he could bring glory to his sect.
Soon, disciples of Zhentian sect returned to the Divine Valley inn and started pondering over the outcome of the first round of the compet.i.tion.
All the Wudao eighth layer disciples were rebuking themselves. However, they couldn’t be blamed for such a bitter defeat. They could’ve done better had it not been for Tibetan Fire disciples and Knife Cut disciples attacking them at once.
“In the second round, we must save our energy and wait till the other contestants have eliminated some people. Then we would collectively attack the Qiansi disciples until they concede.”
Wudao ninth layer disciples had come up with a strategy.
This was the only way they could hope to last long enough to eliminate the Qiansi disciples.
The second round of the seven sects’ compet.i.tion was to be organized two days later. Feng Hao, Feng Xiaofei, Feng Yuxin and Liao Lele were among the eight disciples of Wudao ninth layer, who were going to fight in the second round after two days.
……….
Tang Qin, the Sovereign of Hanbing Sect, had arrived at the Divine Valley inn and had a long conversation with Baiyun Zhong that stretched all night long.
To defeat Qiansi sect, all the other six sects had joined forces and worked together. However, Tang Qin didn’t bear any good news with her. Fang Qiaoyue, the sovereign of Allure sect, had entered into an alliance with Knife Cut sect and Tibetan Fire sect!
This surely was a misfortune for Zhentian sect and Hanbing sect.
There was nothing Tang Qin and Baiyun Zhong could do anything about it; it all depended upon their disciples’ performance in the second round.
Under such difficult circ.u.mstances, there was every possibility of the outcome of the second round to go against Zhentian sect and Hanbing sect, no matter how good strategies they used.
Tang Qin decided to adopt the same strategy as that of Zhentian sect – to wait and watch until some of the contestants were eliminated, and then collectively attack Qiansi disciples.
As long as their disciples could save their energy, there were chances of them overpowering the Qiansi disciples.
After all, the other sects were no better than Hanbing sect and Zhentian sect. They could easily be provoked against each other, just like the Qiansi disciples had done in the first round.
Two days later, the Imperial Martial Arena was once again bustling with people.
During the first round of seven sects’ compet.i.tion, the viewers had witnessed Zhentian sect, Hanbing sect and Allure sect conceding the fight. This had made them wonder if Chu Chao Sheng was really going to succeed in his plan.
If the Qiansi sect won this seven sects’ compet.i.tion and Chu Chao Sheng succeeded, all the other six sects would have to surrender their core principles to him. This would greatly weaken the six sects, and eventually these sects would cease to exist!
Chu Chao Sheng would become more powerful than ever!
As the contingent of Zhentian sect entered the Imperial Martial Arena, Long Yu entered with his fellow disciples. This surprised a lot of people present there.
The news of Long Yu’s grandfather sending Long Ruotian to warn him and asking him to leave the Tang kingdom was known to all by now. But there he was, supporting his fellow disciples, regardless of his own life being at risk.
This boy was so fearless!
Several people thought so, while some of them even wondered who might want to kill Long Yu.
It was impossible for both Chu Chao Sheng and the Long Clan to harm Long Yu during the seven sects’ compet.i.tion. Chu Chao Sheng was bound by the presence of the Imperial Princess, while the people of Long Clan had Long Yu’s grandfather restricting their actions.
If not Chu Chao Sheng or Long Clan, who else might want to kill Long Yu?
“Feng Yuxin, Feng Hao, Feng Xiaofei and Liao Lele, this round depends on you. I wish you good luck!”
Long Yu encouraged his fellow disciples.
“Brother Long Yu, rest a.s.sured.”
Feng Xiaofei showed a cunning expression. Perhaps he had a plan of his own.
Feng Hao was looking stern, but Feng Yuxin and Liao Lele were somewhat anxious since they were alchemy disciples.
The two girls thought of themselves to be no better than Ling Yiyue when it came to fighting.
They all needed to fight at their best in this round, to avoid repeating the fiasco of last round!
