Minodayz : LEQ + Turtle Egg + English Champions.h.i.+p awards presentation = …… I really wanted to fill the dotted lines but that would ruin the story. Naturally, I'm sure if you had my warp sense of humor and have come to know our author's style well, you'll might just draw the same conclusion!

Chapter 20.2 : Turtle Egg

Translated by Minodayz
Edited by Librismuse, Miss Bookie & maripaz

The next day, Peng Zige was awakened by Rong Si. His mood was back to normal, and he let out a big yawn as he asked, "Did I disturb you last night with my chatter?"

His tone was apologetic.

"Nope"

Rong Si replied expressionlessly, his answer short and sure.

Peng Zige was feeling much better by the time he saw Li Erqin at the cafeteria. Not only did he not feel guilty, but he actually pointed to her half-swollen face and laughed out loud.

"Hahahahahaha….Erqin, you look like a turtle!"

Li Erqin: "…………………"

(Minodayz: PZQ – you dino egg! lol)

What Li Erqin didn't expect was that she would have to go up to the podium in front of the whole school, before her teachers and fellow students, to receive an award with her face swollen.

The National English Compet.i.tion had released the results of the winners.

The school had two recipients.

National champion in 1st place: Rong Si, and in 3rd place: Li Erqin.

Such an achievement was worth celebrating, and it was definitely worth the princ.i.p.al detaining the students who were ready to leave after the morning a.s.sembly so that he could take the microphone and broadcast his pride and joy to each and every student present.

When Rong Si heard Li Erqin's name called out, he actually let out a rare look of surprise. He looked down the row of female students at Li Erqin and saw her mirroring his stunned expression (wide-eyed look of disbelief) as she looked towards the podium. She was completely taken aback by the unexpected. However, he had to admit, having her face half-swollen like that really did not match the proud expression (she should be having).

(Minodayz: I can just picture this…oh my word!!!! LEQ LEQ!)

It somehow felt funny.

Rong Si lowered his head and coughed, masking the smile that had slipped out onto his face.

Li Erqin was totally unprepared, and her mind just went "F)&^%$#!". Even when she heard the princ.i.p.al requesting the two outstanding students "who had won an honor in the name of the school" to come up to the podium to receive their prizes, her mind kept repeating "F^%$#! F&^%#[email protected]?!"

She was still frozen on the spot when she felt someone gently touch her fingertips.

Rong Si was by her side, and a hypnotizing voice (literal: a sound that numbs ears) was directed towards the top of her head: "Let's go."

However, Li Erqin felt that it was her fingertips that were going numb (i.e. tingling), and her heart started to throb.

With her eyes fixed on the back of Rong Si's head and under the watchful eyes of the entire school (teachers and students), she followed him, step by step, towards the podium. She felt as if both of them were under a spotlight, the surrounding sounds having faded, leaving just the two of them.

'If only her face wasn't swollen, it would have been perfect.' This was what Li Erqin thought.

Furthermore, Li Erqin didn't think that there would be a reporter from the school newspaper standing beside the princ.i.p.al.  She came to a halt, completely stunned.

Suddenly, the princ.i.p.al noticed her face and was also surprised.

The school reporter lifted his camera.

This picture was captured at the most 'perfect' moment for all eternity.

A turtle-looking Li Erqin plus the princ.i.p.al with an expression of having a turtle egg stuck in his throat.

Thankfully, the student Rong Si was still looking serene and handsome.

The school notice board posted the latest school news. In the black and white photo, Rong Si stood in the middle. The quality of the school's photos were not very good so their faces were not that clear.  Even in profile, viewers' eyes brushed across towards Rong Si. Beside Rong Si was Li Erqin, and with the terrible resolution plus the terrible conditions, her face ended up looking even more funny (and ridiculous).

(Minodayz: Oh.. what I'll give to see that photo indeed! Poor baby LEQ!)

Numerous people went past the notice, and when they saw Li Erqin's photo, they just couldn't resist snickering (making "Pu chi" noises!).

"Whoa, is this THAT Li Erqin? She looked like THAT?" For the last few days, this was what Li Erqin and group had heard the most. Even Li Erqin didn't know that she was that well known, but she could definitely hear the undertones of dissatisfaction from those comments.

"What is the meaning of this!" Su Zi was not pleased as she angrily stabbed her bowl of rice. "So what if she looked like that! She just happened to ruin her face (at that time), that's all!"

Ruan Nuonuo quickly nodded in agreement.

Peng Zige was not too pleased either. "Your looks can't even compare to a turtle's (i.e. You look better than a turtle)!"

Ruan Nuonuo had just finished nodding her head when she started nodding her head again at Peng Zige's words and looked more like a little chicken pecking at rice.

Li Erqin was indifferent to the whole conversation as she continued eating with her head down. After hearing Peng Zige's comment though, she lifted her head to look at him. "I don't think anyone has ever used a turtle to describe me before."

Peng Zige choked on a grain of rice and started coughing. After more than half the term, Peng Zige's complexion had finally returned to his fair self from before the start of military training. His face had turned slightly red while he was coughing, and it made him look particularly innocent and rather good-looking/handsome.

Ruan Nuonuo stared blankly at him for a moment before suddenly realising that she was staring at him with a dazed look. She hurriedly turned her gaze away, but in her harried movement, she choked on the food in her mouth as well, joining Peng Zige in his coughing fit.

Li Erqin looked at Peng Zige and then looked at Ruan Nuonuo. She lowered her head and continued to eat her food.

Minodayz: The whole podium scene was just so out there and yet, you could just see it happening to our LEQ. At least our foursome are back to their usual antics with RNN just melting all around PZG.
