Chapter L (Part 2) Magical beast blood memorial curse

“Greedy, gluttonous, ah, these are certainly the dominant traits of pig race.” Hailun sighed and seemed a bit dejected.

“Hey.” Liu Zhenhan shook his head: “I still do not believe in this theory of yours. I think we are missing something important.”

“Actually even I do not know what exactly happened yesterday. Li Cha, I really hope that all of this is just my speculation mistake.” Hailun said in a frustrated tone.

“Fruit? Yes, what about Fruit?” Liu Zhenhan grabbed Fruit’s ears to lift him up and asked: “If your curse theory is correct, why do you think Fruit was affected the same way I was affected by the blood memorial curse?”

“At that time when the curse hit you, Fruit was sleeping on top of your head, right?” Hailun asked.

“Yes. He was sleeping on my head before being awakened by the egg’s smell.”

“Blood memorial curse is a very strong type of curse and so the resentment firmly locks onto your body. Fruit must have also fallen inside the range. No wonder they say that frost type Picchu beasts are always accompanied by bad luck. And you keep one on your head all the time.” Hailun seemed quite annoyed right now.

“It’s over! I am finished and here you are pinning the fault on Fruit’s head.” Liu Zhenhan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry in this situation. He just sat on the ground with a ‘thud’ and appeared fairly dejected.

“Everybody says so, I’m not sure of it yet!” Hailun tried to console him, “Listen, why don’t you quickly sing a battle song? That should prove my a.s.sumption wrong. Stand up quickly, be brave and do as I say! And hurry up; do you want the war-G.o.d to force you to stand or what?”

Liu Zhenhan heard that and immediately stood up. He could see the restless look in her eyes and reacted quickly. Hailun behaved like a timid girl most of the time, but at such a critical moment, one could clearly sense her anxiety, being depicted openly by her wrinkled eyebrows.

Love is really a strange phenomenon. And right now, her love for Liu Zhenhan was pus.h.i.+ng her to her limits. She herself didn’t know when exactly she fell for him. Perhaps on the day when she vaguely saw his figure working hard to save her life. Or perhaps during the days she spent recuperating while he took care of her.

But the reason didn’t matter anymore. She was in love with Li Cha, and right now as she was submerged in the memories of the days spent with him, he was singing a battle song.

He finally stopped singing.

Hailun felt something complex going on in her heart as she was looking at him. The look in her eyes was making him uncomfortable.

“Just tell the result already!” Liu Zhenhan felt that his battle song had gone completely off track.

“Li Cha! Without a doubt, you really have been affected by the blood memorial curse.” Hailun said with a strange smile.

“My battle songs are useless from now on?” Liu Zhenhan felt an indescribable sense of loss within his heart. He was like a kid who suddenly discovered the value of a toy only after losing it.

“Dear Li Cha, you do not know how unfortunate you are, but you do not know how lucky you are either.” Hailun’s moist eyes smiled at him as she said: “When comparing the battle song you sang just now with the one you sang for the first time, it is visible that you have almost lost the song power of an inborn singer. The psychic battle song you sang just now had a very faint effect, however, there was actually a trace of effect in it. I am grateful to the great war-G.o.d! He actually left you a glimmer of hope. I am trying to say that the blood memorial curse had not fully affected you, and hence, it has not fully deprived you of your powers as an inborn singer.”

“Holy Campas!” Liu Zhenhan gave out a long and loud sigh. A glimmer of hope was still better than total despair.

“I don’t know much about this curse and I think there are not too many records about it in the Temple Codex as well. However, now that we know that the curse that hit you is incomplete, there’s a scope of finding a cure! In any case, your case should be regarded as a miracle! That is because it also proves that War-G.o.d Campas really loves you and favors you more than anyone else.” Hailun said in an excited tone.

Liu Zhenhan glanced at the corpse of the black turtle once but did not say anything. As a soldier, he still held immense respect for the creature for its might and motherly instincts. Then he suddenly felt something heavy landing on his head, it was Fruit.

“Doom beast! How much bad luck do you plan to bring to your father, little one?” Hailun gently pinched Fruit’s cheek. He quickly sneaked into Liu Zhenhan’s arms, revealing his big ears trembling on the outside.

Liu Zhenhan also felt that after having met this so-called ‘doom beast’, he indeed had come across misfortunes time and time again. But Fruit had saved his life from the blue wolf and also became his partner during those lonely times!

He just couldn’t stand when Hailun called Fruit a ‘doom beast’ and he became so scared.

“Who says that he is the beast of misfortune?” Liu Zhenhan clutched Fruit in his arms gently like a mother holding her baby then said in a proud tone: “I say Fruit is a beast of luck! Without it, I might have kicked the bucket already.”

Fruit stuck his face out from Liu Zhenhan’s arms and blinked at him.

“You ~~” Hailun poked Liu Zhenhan’s forehead with a finger and rebuked him: “I was just kidding, and look at you, getting all nervous, trying to defend your baby. It’s as if I am the bad guy here!”

“Wait, do I now have magic?” Liu Zhenhan immediately changed the topic as he suddenly remembered this point: “What kind of magic did I get?”

“You better stay away from magic!” Hailun’s complexion turned pale, “Using magic might take your life.”

“f.u.c.k!” Liu Zhenhan said: “I did not see that turtle using any complicated magic attacks. But her body was full of insane strength.”

“You saw her fight with the wolf but didn’t see her using any magic attack?” Hailun also wondered.

“Well ~~~~” Liu Zhenhan pointed at the deep hole in the ground and said: “She made that hole in the ground with one stamp of her feet and crushed the wolf.”

“Great Strength!” Hailun stared at the hole in the ground while covering her mouth in amazement.

“Hey? Don’t tell me her great strength has been grafted onto me by the curse?” Liu Zhenhan laughed and said: “Strength is not magic, right? So how can it be grafted?”

“Magic relies on elemental power and strength is also a form of power which is boosted by magic. So it is not impossible to graft the great strength on to you.” Hailun still felt a bit strange about all this, “I don’t get it! How can a Yalong beast not use magic based attacks but only have the great strength?”

“Let’s try to find out.” Liu Zhenhan moved his muscles and seemed all prepared to test his strength.

“No, don’t!” Hailun screamed.

“Why?” Liu Zhenhan covered his ears and asked.

“Magic can cause rebound!” Hailun asked: “Have you forgotten about the magic beast curse already?”

“How can it be?” Liu Zhenhan said with a smile: “We are talking about laborious muscle use here, not complicated magic spells. How can the curse possible backfire when all I am doing is using my muscles?”

“No, that will not do!” Hailun stubbornly said as her beautiful red hair covered half of her face, making her look more seductive than ever.

Taking advantage of this confusion, Fruit jumped out of Liu Zhenhan’s bosom and ran toward a large bluestone.

Liu Zhenhan and Hailun stopped arguing and looked at Fruit.

“What is he planning to do?” Liu Zhenhan asked Hailun.

She shook her head.

“Can it be that he is gonna try to lift that stone?” Liu Zhenhan said.

Fruit used his little paws to grab the bottom of a large piece of stone, in front of which, he looked like a tiny animal.

“Fruit, stop ~~~~!” Liu Zhenhan’s pupils instantly tightened as he shouted loudly: “You ** little b.a.s.t.a.r.d, be careful, the magic power can cause rebound!”
