Volume 3 – When he bravely forged ahead on the sea waves

Chapter IV Clash begins

The strength of one’s muscles is defined by one’s virtue – Beamon proverb.

Liu Zhenhan felt a strong killing intention burning within his heart as his eyes were calm and focused on his enemy.

He could estimate the strength of his opponent by just looking at him. Even at a glance, he could tell that this magical shark knight was a veteran. The gills on his cheeks were gently breathing while his entire torso was covered in countless scars.

Liu Zhenhan slowly untied the feather robe, revealing his st.u.r.dy body and valiant muscles, with his lower body wrapped in a wolf skin underwear. He looked just like a wild beastman with beastly instincts.

Magic shark knight Richard himself could not help but feel a bit envious of the beastkin and their naturally sculptured built, especially when he saw zero traces of fat on Liu Zhenhan’s body. He never thought that a pigman could also have such a ripped body.

Liu Zhenhan began singing a battle song. At this, Richard’s face become very dignified, he did not have the habit of looking down on his opponents. He had been through numerous life and death fights that taught him what kind of mentality one must have while facing an opponent.

Fruit stood proudly in front of the strong magic shark knight, sticking out its chubby b.u.t.tocks. It seemed as if a small ant was confronting an elephant.

There appeared a disdainful expression on Richard’s face, after all, even a low-level magical beast like Fruit was daring to mock him.

Fruit wiggled its round b.u.t.tocks cutely and winked at Richard. Richard couldn’t control his anger anymore and began to recite some strange syllables. All of a sudden, a s.h.i.+eld of light-blue water began to take form in front of him. This s.h.i.+eld was meniscus, in the shape of a half crescent moon.

“The s.h.i.+eld of mighty sea waves!” Hailun exclaimed.

Fruit also quickly issued an ice ball that flew forward at a very fast speed and immediately reached the water s.h.i.+eld before it could fully take shape.

A strange scene was born in front of everyone present there. The ice ball hit at the central point of the water s.h.i.+eld and pierced right through it, cras.h.i.+ng against Richard’s chest the very next moment with a ‘pop’ sound.

Richard’s water s.h.i.+eld instantly froze and shattered into countless pieces of ice-crystals, crumbling in front of his eyes.

Not just his s.h.i.+eld, even his pride shattered into pieces just now. He wiped traces of frost and ice from his chest. He was wearing seaweed gloves in his hands but when his hand brushed against his bare chest, it sounded as if a knife was sc.r.a.ping a mirror.

“What a clever little beast!” Using the reef as her throne, the mermaid princess made a praising remark: “It actually antic.i.p.ated that Richard was preparing a magic s.h.i.+eld and in turn prepared a surprise attack to break the water s.h.i.+eld before it could fully take shape! I must say, your magic pet is quite cunning!”

“Then let’s get ready for next round.” Liu Zhenhan’s battle song ended, and as soon as it happened, a mysterious and glittering golden light immediately enveloped his and Fruit’s body.

Richard belonged to the vicious shark clan. He had been standing on the raft and not attacking because he wanted to test the opponent’s strength. But now that he was done doing that, he immediately jumped forward and launched a kick at Fruit.

However, a strange thing happened that shocked all. Everyone had imagined little Fruit getting crushed to meat patty under the ma.s.sive foot of Richard. To everyone’s surprise, Fruit’s body was not only intact but he also grinning while holding Richard’s foot in his small paws.

The entire squad of magic shark knights opened their mouths in bewilderment. It made their faces appear like that of a dying salmon.

How was this possible? Richard was strongest among them and was also one of the rare geniuses of their clan. His kick could even crush a large coral reef, let alone a c.r.a.ppy magic beast.

Richard himself was stunned. After a short phase of absent-mindedness, he found out that he made a great mistake when a pair of powerful arms clung to his neck from behind and instantly tightened, like the arms of a huge octopus made of stone. Even his gills started to squeeze in and bulge out in search of air to breathe in.

What’s going on? Richard’s brain was instantly submerged in a sea of questions, but suddenly, he felt his body being lifted from the ground. He panicked and felt as if his head would be detached from his torso.

The entire magic shark knight squad was in shock, their jaws dropped when they saw Richard being lifted up effortlessly by a pigman. Richard did not know when and how it happened, but he could clearly feel a sudden loss of control over his limbs, making him unable to move.

However, it did not matter because he could just use water magic do deal with this situation. He was an expert at using water magic, so like a veteran shark warrior should, he immediately made an acute and direct response. A series of syllables rapidly came out from his mouth, summoning a tide of water in abundance. The summoned water elements quickly started to coagulate around him.

What he summoned was actually a water dragon in order to free himself from the grip of Liu Zhenhan. More than half of its body had already taken shape. Its magnificent body was covered with dragon scales, sparkling under the rays of milky moonlight.

This was the true level of a magic shark knight who was also an innate water magician, not to mention Richard was one of the best in his clan. That was why he was chosen to be the mermaid princess’ bodyguard.

“Crunch-Crunch-Crunch”

A series of overlapping crunching sounds resounded.

The water dragon was soon going to take its complete form but instantly dissipated as soon as Liu Zhenhan’s knee kick pounded on it, making way for his knee to make a direct contact with Richard’s spine and then there sounded a terrifying bone crunching sound. Although the ma.s.sive impact from Liu Zhenhan’s knee kick completely destroyed the water dragon’s form, traces of water element was stick sticking onto his pale face, as if reluctant to part from him.

Richard’s eyes immediately turned gray with no signs of life in them. There was no trace of anger or pride in his eyes anymore. His huge body gently slumped in front of Liu Zhenhan.

Richard’s comrades were no longer laughing or ridiculing. The tables had turned in a blink of an eye. Their strongest warrior had been killed in front of their eyes and it happened so fast that they didn’t get a chance to react. A few moments ago, they were making fun of Beamon and sacrifices. The sudden change in the situation had left them in complete shock, especially when a lowly pigman killed their strongest warrior. The loss of a friend left their minds in utter chaos.

It took some time for them to get out of the denial mode of grief. Now there was hate and anger in their eyes, fuelled again and again whenever they saw Richard’s corpse lying down near Liu Zhenhan’s feet. What exactly happened? They didn’t see exactly how Richard died with just a kick but they were baffled by the fact that the raft didn’t even shake when it happened. Richard weighed more than 300 pounds but it was as if the impact of his weight was absorbed by something. Was it really possible for a pigman’s kick to counterbalance the weight of a shark warrior? Countless questions were revolving in their minds, confusing them more and more.

Could it be that the body of a Beamon sacrifice wasn’t weak and emaciated as portrayed in the records of sea race?

Was it not true that Beamon sacrifices relied on their magic pets to fight for them?

Could a Beamon sacrifice actually kill a magic shark knight barehanded?

According to the old records, even the famous elephant warriors of Beamon Kingdom couldn’t kill magic shark knights so easily!

Could it be that the ancient records of the sea race were wrong?

The shark knights were trapped in a whirlpool of questions right now.

Intense anger and hatred started to overwhelm their minds, as a result of which, their bodies started to swell like balloons. They were close to losing their sanity, only revenge was on their minds.

Magic shark knights were prideful shark warriors. They were not just part of the elite warrior cla.s.s, but also belonged to the n.o.ble shark clan. But today, one of their own died at the hands of a weak Beamon sacrifice and made them fell scared of a terran for the first time.
