After replacing the flowers, Yi Ti simply closed the shop door and went back to the house. When she walked in, she could see the slime with a bunch of tentacles extended motionless in the air.
Yi Ti: “……” What was he doing? Was he receiving signals from his planet? Better not to disturb him.
So, she quietly waited.
Five minutes pa.s.sed.
Yi Ti finally lost patience. “Cough Cough”, she quietly asked: “What are you doing?”
“Not going anywhere.”
“Ah?” She suddenly remembered that as she left, it seems she casually said “Don’t go anywhere.” As a result did this guy freeze in place until now? Yi Ti couldn’t help but think this guy was funny and… cough, a little cute.
“I said ‘Don’t go anywhere’. That didn’t mean you couldn’t move! Just…how to put it, I meant that you shouldn’t mess with the room or easily appear in front of a stranger.” After listening to Yi Ti’s explanation, Cecil gave a heartfelt lament: “The earth language meaning is really rich. Just a few syllables, actually contains such a long list of meaning in them.”
“… … um …” Did she just inadvertently blacken Earth’s face?
“-”
Suddenly Yi Ti’s belly grumbled. She tapped her forehead and suddenly remembered that during the move she didn’t eat! No wonder she was so hungry.
Although everything in the kitchen and in the fridge was unpacked, she had no desire to cook today. So, she took out a bag of cookies and a cake from the counter. After sitting on the sofa, she picked up the remote control to turn on the TV, and then tore the bag, “crunch” , to eat up. It was not that she tortured aliens by not giving them food, but when Cecil first arrived, he said, “I have tried human food and can eat it, but I do not get any energy from it.”
Very coincidentally, a food program was being broadcast on the TV.
Yi Ti watched the steaming hot food on TV and looking at her own strawberry sandwich cookies, she instantly couldn’t eat them. Yes, this feeling is the legendary torture of wanting good food but having no energy to make it.
“Humans really like to taste all sorts of flavors,” said Cecil as he used his tentacles to climb on the couch.
“Ah?” Yi Ti did not turn around and replied, “Say, Cecil, can you taste different flavors?”
“According to my experiments, Sutaner Star people, whether it is taste, or vision, hearing, smell and other senses, must be far beyond that of earthlings.”
Yi Ti silently shook her head: “… …” This guy no matter how you look at it only has eyes and mouth and he really dares to say that…ah!
Perhaps it was that her suspicion was too obvious that Cecil continued: “This is not my true shape, but a mimicry that has to be used in the event of losing most of my energy.”
Yi Ti did not get the details, but she generally understood his meaning. So she handed him a cookie. “Want to taste?”
He seemed to think about it for a second and then stretched out a tentacle. He wrapped it around the cookie, taking it from Yi Ti and swallowed it in one bite.
Yi Ti felt completely understanding of this guy’s action – no teeth so all he could do was swallow!
“How is the taste?”
“It was sweet, and it was not the same as I had before.”
“You ate one before?” Yi Ti figured that normal people are unlikely to give
var infolinks_pid = 2003024;
var infolinks_wsid = 13;
him something to eat it calmly. So she asked, “Where did you get the food?”
“There’s a lot of food that humans put in those square metal things, but it’s sour and putrid…the taste of the Earth is really special.”
Yi Ti: “… …” Don’t insult Earth people okay?
Now that she thought about it…their encounter may also really not be accidental. He must have been rummaging in the trash for food…ah she felt so sympathetic.
In short, for Yi Ti it was very easy to feel sympathetic towards people. She put the bag in between them and softly asked: “Do you want to eat?”
In this way, Yi Ti and an alien sat on the couch eating a bag of cookies and a cake. It was very wonderful. She felt biscuits are not so unpalatable after all. This may be because the food program had ended or it may be because she had someone to share them with.
After she was full, she felt a little dry in the throat and stood up to get some water from the fridge and asked, “What do you want to drink …?”
“What?”
“You are not …” Yi Ti stare at the slime and it wasn’t good. The biscuits and cakes it had just eaten, without exception, floated back and forth in its blue jelly-like body, looking like trash roaming the sea.
“Although I can taste the taste of human food, I can not digest it.” Cecil said calmly in his stiff and mechanical voice. That would have been better to know at the beginning! “Not that I care. Soon it will all come out on its own.”
Doesn’t he care that it’s strange?
Yi Ti could not help but ask: “Why did you eat it?”
“Because you asked me to eat,” the strange alien replied, “You can not easily deny the kindness of a friend.”
“… and is that common sense you have learned on earth?”
“No, it is my principle.”
“…”
Yi Ti suddenly felt that this guy from another planet, may have a very gentle nature. At this point, she suddenly felt her palm become hot. Looking down she didn’t know when his head had stretched out to come underneath her palm like a child looking to be praised with a pat on the head.
“Ah, sorry, unconsciously … …” it said like a human child.
However, this guy’s body temperature suddenly become hot, don’t tell me…shy again?
As if confirming her guess, he quietly slid to the ground and tried to drill under the sofa again. Tragically, now his body contained bits of cake and cookies so no matter how hard he tried, some of his body was exposed and he couldn’t get it under the couch in any way.
Yi Ti: “… … “ Pop!
Cecil: “…” Drill, drill, drill …
After a while, the cookies and half-pieces of cake from Cecil’s body “flowed” out, and he successfully got under the sofa. He didn’t come out for a long time. Unexpectedly, his “excrement” wasn’t wet at all and in fact didn’t even look eaten. However, Yi Ti did not plan to eat it, and she put them together with the bags into the trash.
It turned out that the alien really didn’t consume food like humans.
A quiet night pa.s.sed.
The next day, probably because she was sleeping in a strange place’s, Yi Ti woke up very early. The house was still clean so she went to care for the store’s plants before heading back to get ready for the day. Back in the house, Cecil had also appeared on the sofa, with tentacles over several expired newspapers. He was very excited.
“What are you doing?”
“Collecting information.”
“Information ah … …” Yi Ti thought then asked, “Do you want to use the computer?”
“Can I?” Cecil’s voice sounded pleasantly surprised.
“Just do not break it.”
Originally, she only had a laptop. But after she moved, she found a new desktop in the bedroom. In fact it was a pretty good model. Yi Ti also found that most of the electrical appliances and furniture in this house was also pretty new. It made her even more curious about the old man.
Yi Ti set the laptop on the coffee table, turned it on, and connected to the wifi. The pa.s.sword was very conveniently left on the router. Then, she handed it over to Cecil and went to make her breakfast.
While the water ran, Yi Ti became distracted by her thoughts.
She really didn’t think that one day she would own a flower shop. Perhaps it is fate…
In fact, other than “keeping an alien”, she had another, smaller secret.
This secret, went back to when she was young.
Because her parents died when she was very young, Yi Ti was raised by her big brother. Although their parents left them a large piece of property, using the “can’t eat mountain air” principle, her brother Yi Shao made her work hard every day. And because she did not want to drag down her brother too much, Yi Ti tried very hard to learn how to do housework and also work growing vegetables for them to eat.
Then, she found out something – she is very good at growing vegetables.
Even if she didn’t take care of them much, her vegetables were better than anyone else’s. She had no idea why.
Then she found that not only food, but all the plants in her care, always grew very robustly.
However, although this was a secret, in fact, it wasn’t that big a deal. After all, many people could grow nice plants. It wasn’t like she could get them to grow faster, or bigger, or have them produce weird varieties. They were just healthier than other peoples. They say that “farming is the natural skills of the people of the great heavens.”. But her small skill was not worthy of pride.
Yi Ti didn’t worry about her skill with plants. First of all, as she grew up, she had less and less time to take care of plants. Secondly, after she had taken her college entrance exams, she had thought about going into an agricultural related field. However, her brother gave her two options; “One, obediently stay at home and take care of me. Two, find a career that is suitable for girls.”. Yi Ti definitely didn’t want to take care of her brother for the rest of her life so she chose to apply for a normal “feminine” job.
Although Yi Ti’s brother sounded extremely authoritarian, all his words and actions were based on protecting her. Yi Ti firmly believed that brother was the best person in the world.
He was a little clingy … … no, very clingy. He just wanted to arrange her whole life which was a little bit of a headache.
Cough, in short, the fate of this thing is elusive, seven Shui eight bend, she eventually seems to have returned to the road of plants.
So, really it’s a coincidence.
The gurgling sound of the water interrupted Yi Ti’s thoughts, and she quickly concentrated her energy on filling her stomach.
When she was carrying a bowl back to the living room she saw the shocking scene. Cecil had actually put a tentacle into the computer’s USB port!
Did he think he was a thumb drive? .
Before she could say anything, it suddenly pulled out the tentacle and then his whole body went limp on the sofa as if he melted into a puddle of goo.
“Hey, are you okay?”
Yi Ti quickly ran to him, and subconsciously picked up his tentacle and chafed it between her hands…
