Book 1 Chapter 3 – Death Leg Technique

Li Yang’s Flying Dagger technique was well known within the world’s underground scene. Whether it was the underground’s a.s.sa.s.sin organizations or the terrorist organizations, “Xiao Li Flying Dagger” was definitely an infamous name that drew intimidation.

Ever since joining the Security Bureau 9th Division, Li Yang had already successfully carried out 13 missions. Nine of those missions were ordinary rank, and three of those were C-rank. There was still one more mission that he did, and that mission was actually an A-rank mission! Within the Security Bureau 9th Division, he was the only member in history to have successfully carried out an A-rank mission.

The Security Bureau divided missions into ordinary and special level mission. These special level missions differed in that the enemies in those missions all had extraordinary and unusual skills. Depending on the strength of the enemy, the mission in accordance divided into several levels as well!

The result of Li Yang successfully carrying out that A-rank mission was also the true reason why his reputation was spread internationally.

That mission was to sneak into one of China’s top three a.s.sa.s.sination organizations and secretly kill the j.a.panese ‘Dual Flowers’ Gold Floral Rank ninja. The Gold Floral Rank is equivalent to the Xiantian level for a ninja. Ninjas were the hardest to pin down, and one at the Xiantian level was definitely beyond terrifying. However, in the end, even that Gold Floral Rank ninja ended up with a dagger stuck in his throat!

The underground world now, whether it be the a.s.sa.s.sination, terrorist or any other criminal organization, all recognized that the Security Bureau had a top level expert —- Xiao Li Flying Dagger!

No one knew for sure how high the skills of this ‘Xiao Li Flying Dagger’ was, nor did they know his real name. The underground organizations all reluctantly concluded that this Flying Dagger was a mystical technique that originated from ancient China: the never missing Xiao Li Flying Dagger!

Only the never missing Xiao Li Flying Dagger’s military might could allow these few big powers to become so fearful

Who would expect that the ‘Xiao Li Flying Dagger’ was only someone who recently started to develop qi, and was one of the lowest level youths.

If one’s cultivation level was so low and yet had such a widespread reputation, then what will happen once his rate of cultivation improve in the future?

Li Yang already missed out on the best time period for internal cultivation, causing his meridians to be finalized. Because of this, Li Yang had already decided early on to improve his physical capabilities instead to increase his overall strength.

‘Dragon Fang’ military special forces was the elite group within China’s special forces, and its members’ combat abilities were definitely first cla.s.s. Li Yang was considered one of the best within that group, however, he was still not satisfied with his combat skills and felt that they were not nearly good enough.

Li Yang still remembered that time when his Security Bureau 9th Division was stationed at the small Shanghai base, and the conversation he had with the Tan family five brother’s Boss Tan Jin.

“Big bro Tan, which combat skills do you think is the strongest and which have the best a.s.sa.s.sination ability?” Li Yang inquired in front of Tan Jin.

When Tan Jin heard this, he immediately became serious. “The strongest? The highest a.s.sa.s.sination potential? Only within life and death, for the sake of preserving our lives can we bring out the potential to improve. Those types of combat skills are the ones that could be considered the most powerful. Only skills developed through life and death struggles can be considered real combat skills! These skills are at the same time the most lethal.”

Hearing this, Li Yang’s eyes suddenly lit up. He too thought that what Tan Jin said made sense.

Tan Jin saw the admiring look on Li Yang’s face and said with a smile, “Underground boxing, indeed underground boxing is where the life and death fights take place. Before entering the fighting arena, these boxers are under crazy pressure, and are challenged again and again to their physical limits. Using their legs to kick wooden structures that were similar to stone pillars. Doing squats over and over again under the weight of hundreds of kilograms as well. If they didn’t reach the requirements, then they were brutally punished or even killed. The mortality rate of these individuals is roughly fifty percent.

“Li Yang, did you know? When these fighters enter the Underground Fighting Arena, they are living out their materialistic lives, yet the chances of death only increases. Within the fighting arena, if you didn’t die then your opponent did. The mortality rate of the Underground Fighting Arena is actually as high as 70 percent. To leave the Underground Fighting Arena alive and healthy, an individual like this might not even appear once every three years! Under this type of environment, the combat techniques produced will definitely be used to kill your opponent in order to preserve your own life! As for the power of the attack, it is without a doubt horrifying, as well as having the highest killing power!”

Hearing this, Li Yang felt his blood boil. With a mortality rate as high as 70 percent, these types of fighting prowess made even those thinking about it excited. These were the real killing combat skills!

From that same day, Li Yang began to study the Underground Fighting Arena’s ‘Death Leg Technique’ combat skills.

Li Yang entered the testing area and saw the five Tan brothers along with the quiet boss Yan Jie.

Within the group there was another individual with a similar build as Hei Yan. His right leg suddenly released a flying kick, and the air around his leg appeared to have compressed, making a whistling sound. His right leg’s kick was powerful to the point where it left blurry images. There was a hong sound and the materials within the sandbag exploded out.

“Brother Tan, how high did the results of the energy test reach?” Li Yang said to the individual with a smile.

That Tan Jin turned around towards Li Yang and said, “Haha, the test was just finished, it was not bad. I finally broke through 500 crystals! Okay, Li Yang, come take the test, see how high your internal cultivation has reached.

“Eldest brother is not bad huh, actually breaking through to 500 crystals, you really are strong. Oh, that’s right, you were talking about the Underground Fighting Arena, heng, how can that even compare to our magnificent Chinese martial practices? I advise brother to quickly abandon all of those “Death Leg Techniques’ and diligently cultivate our Tan family’s leg techniques; those are the real fundamentals!” An individual with fully dyed red hair spoke, and one could tell with a glance that he was a disrespectful youth that gave people headaches as he spoke with an arrogant att.i.tude. This was Tan Huo, fourth of the five brothers.

“Huo, what you said is incorrect. You definitely would not think that the underground boxing combat skills are simple if you fought with their best in a life and death struggle. If your internal energy levels are similar, haha, I estimate that you won’t even be able to take a single hit,” said Tan family five brothers’ third brother while laughing. With both legs kicking in the air, they mercilessly swept over the sandbags.

The brainless individual on the side replied to Tan Shui and said, “Third brother, I have already studied Chinese martial arts for a long, long time. I think it is best for you and eldest brother to forget and give up those underground boxing techniques and properly learn our Tan family’s leg techniques. Our family’s Chain Leg Energy is matchless and profound. With just a bit of cultivation, you could easily enter the ‘Security Bureau 11th Division’! Eldest brother, third brother, have any of you reached Chain Leg Energy’s third layer?” This was coming from Tan Mu, Tan family five brother’s second brother.

Tan Jin replied, “Second bro, our Tan family’s leg techniques may be profound and matchless, but the Chain Leg Energy is dependent upon internal energy. Because of this, practicing the Chain Leg Energy and the underground leg techniques together does not cause much conflict. What’s more, my energy results from the test was the highest, which means my method brings results, haha…”

Tan Jin was the eldest of the five brothers. Tan Shui was the third of the five brothers. These two individuals both felt that the underground techniques were worth learning.

Tan Mu was precisely that brainless male, the second brother of Tan family’s five brothers. The red haired delinquent was Tan Huo, the fourth brother. These two firmly believed that learning the Tan family’s technique was best!

As for Tan family’s fifth brother Tan Tu, he was extremely indecisive. No matter what you asked him, he would always reply with “whatever”, “about the same”, or “not much of a difference”. This was why he was the only member of the five brothers who was not taking a side!

The Tan family was also known as the ‘Five Type Brothers’, because their names reflected gold, wood, water, fire and earth. Their parents most likely got lazy and gave them all simple names, however they were easy to remember!

TL: Jin = Gold/Metal, Mu = Wood, Shui = Water, Huo = Fire, and Tu = Earth

From the side, a reserved woman who was dressed completely in red abruptly opened her eyes. She looked at Tan Jin who was boasting about his strength and said in disdain, “Tan Jin, is your 500 crystals really that high? Within our base both Hei Yan and I have higher energy values! If we are to talk about real attack power, Li Yang is definitely the strongest.”

Tan Jin could only laugh bitterly, this Yan Jie was the Boss sister of their base. She was extremely powerful, and always put down people like the Tan family five brothers! For Li Yang and Hei Yan, however, she had an entirely different att.i.tude!

Hei Yan was the one with the highest energy cultivation, already surpa.s.sing 800 crystals. As long as he worked a bit harder, he would definitely be able to break through the Houtian stage. Upon reaching the Xiantian stage, he would become an expert within the ‘Security Bureau 11th division.”

As for Li Yang, he was clearly the one with the strongest attack power within the members of the base.

Although his energy level was only around 80 crystals, his impeccable Flying Dagger was beyond comprehension. Even if Hei Yan personally attacked, he would not be a match for Li Yang’s Flying Dagger technique. After all, he had not reached a level where he became immune to bullets and blades. In addition, Li Yang’s Flying Daggers contained qi, making them a lot stronger than bullets.

In addition, Li Yang’s Flying Dagger could still s.h.i.+ft directions mid-flight, just thinking about it was frightening.

If you take out Li Yang and Hei Yan, then there was only Yan Jie left. Although Yan Jie was female, she still reached the third layer of the ‘Six Pure Yang’, as well as reaching 600 crystals. She really was a head above the Tan brothers.

“With so many people here, as the head of this group I have to remind you that the exam date for entering the Security Bureau 11th Division is already set.” Security Bureau 9th Division captain Meng Tian said while laughing.

Everyone began to look at their division captain Meng Tian at once.

Every person here wanted to enter the Security Bureau 11th Division because once they entered, not only did they become one of their country’s guardians, they could also finally get married. Only after entering the Security Bureau 11th Division could these members finally lead ordinary lives.

This was because the Security Bureau 11th Division was similar to an a.s.sa.s.sination group. It did not require them to work often, and since their members only went into action once a year, they could live like ordinary people for the most part.

As for taking care of things, outside of major terrorist activities or some other big things, only members from the 9th Division were sent out. Only when these members could not resolve the issue would the 11th division be sent out.

The Security Bureau 9th Division did missions of all ranks. On top of that, it was required for each of them to practice for at least 6 hours each day. Due to the constantly training, missions, and for the sake of protecting the confidentiality of the 9th Division members, the Security Bureau had to implement a rule that forbade marriage. It goes without saying that everyone within the Security Bureau 9th Division knew this prior to entering this group.

Back then Li Yang did not have any objections towards this rule either since his previous group Dragon Fang also forbade marriage. In Dragon Fang, only after you became a veteran could you have a spouse.

However, after joining the Security Bureau 9th Division, he met Jiang Xue. She was the only girl to have moved his heart and was a girl who he pledged his undying love to.

Because of this, Li Yang’s current ambition was to enter the Security Bureau 11th Division and live together with Jiang Xue. However, because of the strict rules of the Security Bureau 9th Division, it was impossible for him to be together with Jiang Xue. He could only talk to her through the phone while hiding his ident.i.ty.

“Xue, wait for me, I will pa.s.s the examination this time for sure!” Li Yang said quietly within his heart.

Meng Tian looked at the crowd and spoke. “Headquarters sent out two members from the Security Bureau 11th Division, and together with me that makes three. The examination will begin on the 20th at eight in the morning, there is only a month left so everyone needs to continue working hard!”

“Yes sir!” All the members had fire in their eyes. Tan family’s five brothers and Yan Jie were a bit different from Li Yang since they were raised here since they were young. The Security Bureau 11th Division has been their goal for a long time, and it wasn’t difficult to imagine their current att.i.tudes.

All of them took a deep breath, and wore serious expressions on their faces.
