Emperor Stream Serum
Xu Liao suddenly felt a cold sweat on his body, and felt as if a cold air was creeping up his spin. It climbed all the way to his skull, and every hair on his body exploded.
“What kind of strange astronomical phenomenon did I encounter?Or did I somehow undergo a genetic variation, allowing my vision to improve dramatically? Typically, only seven or eight stars could be seen, and even if the skies were cloudless, why can I suddenly see so many stars?
Xu Liao looked all around him a few times, and did not feel that his vision progressed. He still couldn’t see the billboard in the distance clearly, and so at the very least, he could first eliminate the idea of genetic variation. As for what type of astronomical phenomenon could reveal such a clear and prosperous starry sky through the heavy city pollution, Xu Liao had absolutely no idea. He wasn’t an astronomy expert to begin with, moreover, he had a faint feeling that this wasn’t some astronomical phenomenon.
Xu Liao felt his heart tremble, and he suddenly had a bad premonition. Soon after, his premonition came true, and lumps of light began to appear atop the buildings within the nearby districts. Within each lump of light was a faint shadow; some of them were humans, some were beasts, some were birds, and there were even plants and artifacts.
Xu Liao took a deep breath, and suppressed his urge to loudly call for help and from going crazy. Despite the fact that the cold sweat on his back had already soaked through his clothes and his two legs had gone soft, he did not make the slightest movement.
“I must have made some kind of misconception, and need to calm down, cool my head for a bit…”
Xu Liao consoled himself with his own words, and something within the sky seemed to have lit up, and countless shooting stars began to fall.
These shooting stars did not disappear after a flash, but rather transformed into milky white rays of light as they dropped down from the night sky.
Each of the rays of light that were previously resting atop the buildings began to come alive, and those rays of light began to increase sharply. It was to the point where they began to emit lumps of bizarre light, and tried to intercept those milky white rays of light formed by those shooting stars.
The largest lump of ‘shooting star’ tore open the night sky, and it looked as if it were going to drop towards the earth. Suddenly, it made a weird turn, and flew towards Xu Liao. Xu Liao instinctively lifted his hand to protect his face, yet it was not useful in the slightest. He only felt that his body had suddenly felt cold, and a lump of chilling sensation entered his body.
Was it still not over…
The cold aura created from the shooting star seemed to have possessed some sort of mysterious force, and activated a mysterious organ within Xu Liao’s body. It gave birth to a powerful heaven devouring force, and all of those shooting stars that were falling over his head were attracted by that mysterious force. With this s.h.i.+ft in the trend of events, it ultimately threw itself towards him.
In merely ten minutes, Xu Liao was smashed by over ten of these ‘shooting stars.’
Each time another shooting star lump entered his body, Xu Liao’s body’s devouring force would then increase by a portion. In the end, it transformed into a black light that seemed as if it could swallow even an entire ray of light, and it completely enshrouded his body. The awe-inspiring chilliness grew more and more intense, and the stuff within Xu Liao’s body also became more and more active. In the end, it even broke his body, and transformed into eight strands of dark energy. They were gentle and strong as they surged around him, and they were like eight strange pythons.
During the split second the eight strands of energy broke through his body, Xu Liao only felt that his body and mind became extremely invigorated, and he felt an indescribably carefreeness. He faced the sky, and emitted a roar that he himself never thought was possible. It was thick, deep, and overcast, and it was as if an ancient beast suddenly recovered, and appeared within the mortal world.
Just as Xu Liao was unburdening himself as he pleased, a clear sound that contained anger rang out next to his ear. “Shut up! Do you want to wake up the city’s entire population?”
Instantly, Xu Liao felt at last thirty to forty murderous auras lock in on his body with hostility.
Xu Liao felt his mind trembling, and quickly retracted the remaining half of his roar back into his stomach. He also retrieved the eight streams of black energy, and the black light that enveloped and stuck to his body slowly wandered about. Those ten or more beams of killing intent were suddenly pulled back, and no one observed him any longer. Xu Liao could not help but let loose a long breath.
Those beings above the buildings of the nearby districts all began to use their power to intercept those ‘shooting stars’ that dropped from the sky.
One of them began to emit a bizarre light, and it swept out horizontally and vertically. Another manipulated some type of magical object that filled the sky while pocketing and intercepting. One of them utilized some mysterious secret technique to display the strange image of a mythical animal, facing upwards and swallowing everything. There was even another that emitted countless profound and mysterious symbols to form a battle array, and the ‘shooting stars’ took the initiative to arrive one by one… All of these individuals used different techniques, and they were all trying to absorb this energy as if it was their job. It was obvious that this event was extremely important, and once Xu Liao suppressed his own roar, there were no longer anyone who paid any attention to him.
“Could it be that those beings are not humans? What is their purpose for collecting these shooting stars?”
The black light around Xu Liao’s body continuously swallowed these ‘shooting stars’, and completely acted independently. This lump of black light’s devouring power was extremely powerful, and even when compared to those existences atop those nearby rooftops, there still weren’t many who could compare to him. At most, there were two or three who could be considered to be on par with him.
Only when the sky began to began to reveal some light did the ‘shooting stars’ gradually thin out. Xu Liao did not know how much time it took either, nor did he know how many of those ‘shooting stars’ he devoured. After the last lump of ‘shooting star’ was collected by someone, the nearby figures above the rooftops of the nearby districts gradually disappeared one after another.
The chilly aura within Xu Liao’s body converged into a movable wave, to the point where he could slightly operate it. As long as he thought about where he wanted the convergence to collect, this wave of chilly aura would immediately freely and effortlessly migrate to the appointed position as it swirled and danced about.
“Those figures from before unexpectedly all left. I wanted to ask one of them to find out what exactly happened!” Xu Liao thought out loud and muttered a bit as he walked towards his own house. The events that happened tonight were simply too bizarre, and he was still feeling stupefied.
Right when Xu Liao disappeared around a corner, a mist appeared at his previous position. It gradually expanded, and a white clothed girl appeared while knitting her eyebrows.
She looked towards Xu Liao’s rear view, and said to herself, “Why have I never seen this person within this city before? His absorption of the Emperor Stream was quite formidable, and my absorption of the Emperor Stream is not even a tenth of his.”
An old and gentle voice sounded. “He is not a monster that originated from this world.”
A seemingly rather ugly, yet amiable grandmother walked out from within a black energy. She was leaning on a walking stick, and her body was crooked. However, she was in high spirits, and was emitting a firm and unyielding aura.
The white-clad girl bowed in courtesy, and softly said, “Grandma Huai! You haven’t met him before either? Could it be that this fellow is a foreigner? For a foreigner to come and steal the Emperor Stream Serum from our northern city’s creatures, that violates the Ten Thousand Devil a.s.sembly’s regulations.”
Grandma Huai spoke with a smile. “He is not a foreigner!”
