TBoSP Chapter 1 - The serpent chooses a bride
TL: New project! This one is really short for each chapter, and I find it a delightful read. Plus, the Chinese is quite easy to understand. It's somewhat similar to those shoujo manga plot where you get a girl sheltering a supernatural being who justtttt happened to be really handsome. I've read till Chapter 9 so far, so like you, I don't know what's going to happen next either!

Throughout the chapters, this prince would talk in royal speech. He even referred to his father as Honourable Father, or used the polite version of "you". Now, I would skip them all because it's too much of a ha.s.sle to find the English equivalent of it and make them all flow better. For now, they speak normally in English. If you love anime, then think of it like how kings and queens call themselves as "wagahai" or "warawa".

Demon World.

"Father, you called for me?"

An alluring voice spoke up from within the majestic Demon World's royal palace. A peerless, handsome young man walked in. All beautiful things on heaven and earth would pale in comparison to this man.

His snow white sleeves fluttered in the wind. His gleaming, long silver tresses is unblemished and natural-looking. All that only serve to offset his transcendent bearing. Moreover, his handsome villain-like feature would make anyone stifle in both fear and awe. His gestures and every movement is like second nature to him; elegant and sophisticated. It is so awe-inspiring, that anyone would feel compelled to submit beneath his feet.

"Fei Yue, according to the human age in the Human World, you are now almost 18 years old. You're now almost an adult. I can happily entrust the Demon World's future to you, my son."

The current Demon World's king looked at his son with pride, his words are but his true feelings from the bottom of his heart.

"Father, you are still young to be abdicating from the throne. I am still inexperienced to take up such heavy responsibilities. We should push this succession matter aside for now!"

Su Fei Yue frowned slightly. He had always liked his freedom. He'd hate to get tied up by the crown!

"Worry not, my son. I have thought this through. This seat of mine is indeed a heavy burden, which is why you will need an able and virtuous queen by your side! Besides, you are now old enough to get married! Why not deal with this matter too? Just like two birds with one stone!"

The king laughed in his heart. To be frank, this is the ultimate goal behind his suggestion to the throne succession.

Truly, this doting father had no choice. His son is excellent in every way. A pity he has never shown any interest towards the fairer s.e.x. As a father himself, he is anxious for his son. Even the queen urged him to do something about their beloved sp.a.w.n. She is anxious to hold a grandchild in her arms! The king then encountered a dilemma. Fei Yue himself has haughty and proud disposition. His magical powers are simply outstanding to the point that even he, his son's father, is somewhat afraid of the consequences of angering him. It's simply impossible to go head-to-head with Fei Yue. Thus, the king is only left with a choice; set him up with a trap.

"A queen? Impossible!"

As expected, he rejected the idea in a flash with a cold tone.

"Women are too bothersome. They either cry or throw a tantrum. I loathe to even think about it!"

"If you are not willing, then I'll stop pestering you about it then."

Su Lin Mei seems to want to say something, but after seeing how cold his son's expression is, he slowly zipped his lips. He quickly changed the topic instead.

"We'll put it aside for now. The Demon World's most precious treasure, the Snow Gla.s.s has been s.h.i.+mmering since yesterday. Do you know of this?"

As soon as a serious topic surfaced, the king of the Demon World wore a serious expression.

Su Fei Yue raised his eyebrows. He finds it unexpected that his father would ask such a question. Nevertheless, he maintained his calm facade. It is a battle of wits between father and son. Neither would give up on their claim on the better man!

"Yes, I do. What's wrong with it?"

"For a millenia, the Snow Gla.s.s's state has been volatile. I fear that it will reveal yet another unexpected state. So, come take a look at our Snow Gla.s.s with me!"

The king would never tell the princeling of the truth. He had actually used a king's strongest magic to interfere with the Snow Gla.s.s. His goal is actually...

At the Demon World's sacred pond, two silhoutte appeared in a flash. Su Fei Yue walked with a leisurely pace towards the Snow Gla.s.s which is currently emitting a large burst of light, along with an immense power. This is truly an unusual phenomenon. He lightly touched the surface of the Snow Gla.s.s with magical powers on the tip of his pointer. All of a sudden, he felt his magic being drained away. His expression changed as soon as he realized it. The Snow Gla.s.s is absorbing his magical power!

He tried to pull back but unfortunately, it was too late. He felt himself losing consciousness as he was sucked into a brilliant silver light flas.h.i.+ng in his mind.

Su Lin Mei watched as his son's slender figure was sucked into the vortex of light. Not only is he calm, he even wore a meaningful smile.

"Fei Yue! Don't blame your father for this! You cannot go against the will of the heavens!"

The wheel of Fate has turned. Anything that happens afterward, it all begins from here...
