TBoSP Chapter 11 - Ill-fated relations.h.i.+p
TL: Whoaaaa boy. I think the t.i.tle needs some explanation. 情劫 (qing jie), or rather, turbulent relations.h.i.+p. The character for 'qing' here is the same one often used for love relations.h.i.+p. The next character, 'jie' would obviously mean not smooth sailing, turbulent, or many things will go awry. It doesn't exactly mean that the love relations.h.i.+p would be doomed, just that their relations.h.i.+p will not be a smooth sailing.

"This Highness will sleep here. If you want to, feel free to sleep with me or on the floor instead. Whichever your choice is, don't you dare speak another word. Utter a squeak, and I'll swallow you whole!"

Su Fei Yue threatened her with a chilling tone. He then slithered to her soft pillow, looked for a comfortable position and prepared to enter the dreamland.

Every word Mu Tang Chun wants to say is stucked in her throat. She dared not utter even a single word. She's afraid that if she did, she'll be eaten by this snake.


*sobs* Her bed is really being occupied by a snake. What should she do?

Sleep on the floor? *sobs* The floor's so cold. If she slept on it, she'll get sick! Must she sleep with a snake on the same bed? She doesn't really hate the idea, but it's still a talking snake.

She gave a furtive glance at the white snake now deep asleep on her bed. Her heart's a conflicted mess. After a long time, only then did she took small steps towards her bed sheepishly and slowly climbed in. This is her bed after all. Why wouldn't she sleep on it? Hmph, why should she give way to this despicable snake.

She switched off her bedside lamp and pulled up her blanket, getting ready to sleep. She certainly never expected the snake next to her pillow opening it's icy blue eyes. It s.h.i.+mmered blue in the dark. It was extremely attractive.

As he watched this two-faced, timid and interesting woman, Su Fei Yue's eyes flashed an amused smile. For the first time, he felt that woman... wasn't so bad after all.

(TL: You know, I usually skipped out explaining some Chinese idioms if I can find an English equivalent one. I should really stop doing that. Let's learn! Okay, for the two-faced, the idiom used is 口是心非 (kǒushìxīnfēi), can be loosely translated as the mouth says yes, the heart says no. Easy to understand, right? Just like how in an interview, when the interviewee asked if you're good at teamwork, you said yes but honestly speaking... LMAO.)

Just like that, a person and a snake slept on the same bed peacefully.


(TL: Here, it says they slept harmoniously and on good relations.h.i.+p.)

Still in deep sleep, the spirit him looked upon the tall mirage. He called out to it in an angry tone.

"Father, why did you do this to me?"

"Do not blame your Father, I am doing this for your own sake!"

Su Lin Mei used his own magic to create a mirage in Mu Tang Chun's room. He came to explain some things.

"For my sake?"

Su Fei Yue gave a hollow laugh. For my very own good, and yet I'm being tortured like this. Not only is he reduced to this pitiful form, all his magic is taken away from him. He was also sent to the Human World in this state. This is simply too much!


"Correct. You are my only son, and the most precious prince of the Demon World. You are also the future King of the Demon World. It is not easy to pa.s.s these obstacles smoothly to inherit the throne. Furthermore, you now faced the last of these obstacles. It is also the most important problem you will soon face. And that is, ill-fated relations.h.i.+p!"

Su Lin Mei's mirage explained to him word by word.

"Ill-fated relations.h.i.+p?"

He worded it slowly. He do not understand what Father meant with this.


"Ill-fated relations.h.i.+p means, if you fail to find a queen for yourself, you'll never solve this final problem, nor can you become a true King!"

(TL: How awesome is that. Got thrown into the Human World to go find a wife. LMAO. Can someone throw me into the world of handsome 2D men to find a husband?! XD)

"What?"

Su Fei Yue's expression darkens immediately.

"I have said this before and I will say it again. I hate women. I will never get involved with a woman!"

However, as he spoke those words, images of the girl sleeping right next to him flashed through his mind. Those images are of the very same girl that challenges his patience. Yet, the thought of this small woman's silhoutte does not seem to get on his nerves.

"This is not up to you to say. If the Snow Gla.s.s has brought you here, then this proves that your soulmate is here in the Human World! No one can help you now, just leave everything to fate. If you could not find your queen, then your magic powers will never recover, and you'll never be able to come back to the Demon World!"

(TL: The idiom used here that I replaced with 'leave everything to fate' is 听天由命 (tīngtiānyóumìng) or loosely translated as "submit to the will of heaven".)

"d.a.m.n it..."

Su Fei Yue cursed. Looks like there is no other choice, because it is clear to him that Father is not fooling around at all.
