After Vio walked out of the room, Seyval's composed face immediately broke into a smile.

“It's been a long time, Legi!”
“Aah, I haven't seen you in a long time Seyval.”

They both shook hands, and Seyval leaned back into the couch.

“Good, Legi. I didn't hear from you at all, so everyone was worried. You should've sent a letter.”
“You know I'm terrible at writing.”

Legion replied and looked at Seyval who, unfortunately, is the same as ever.
Seyval was born a commoner like Legion, but he has blonde hair and blue eyes. If he stays quiet he looks like a prince, but once he opens it only foul-words come out.

“His Highness was worried too. It was foolish of you to have applied to work for the notorious Lesserhain family. I didn't say that, but everyone thought that.”
“But my home is here? Why would I want to work away from here?”
“You'll lose your reputation in the Royal Knights, amongst other things. Don't you think it's a waste?”
“How many times have people asked this question? I've heard it at least more than there are tentacles on an octopus.[1]”

Legion replied coldly, despite his annoyance. And yet Seyval didn't stop nagging.

“I thought I would be staying in a similar house to the Manor House in Nada, but I'm in such a remote place. I went to Nada first, but I didn't say anything of the horrors of the Lord and Young Lord. He was a messenger of the Crown Prince, but he made a rude remark, and it was hard to put up with this. I thought I'd have a similar experience here, but I was very disappointed.”

Seyval lowered his voice.

“Hey, is that acting like your younger brother?”
“Seyval, if you insult him, I'll deal with him.”

Legion stared with a bright smile on his face, which made Seyval, who felt he was being serious, draw back.

“Oi, calm down. I know you don't joke around, so I'm even more afraid.”
“It's natural I should be serious.”

In return, Legion poured a cup of tea.

“You said that accompanying was your purpose, but is it something else? Is it to do with Violant?”
“What is it…?”
“Seyval, you're as bad at lying as ever. When you lie, you tell me not to laugh at you.”

Unfortunately for Seyval, the team all live together, so Legion knows his particularly bad habits.
Seyval sulked.

When Legion replied, Seyval looked unconvinced.

“I found that my first impression of him is different than the rumors. But isn't it weird? I've heard he's sick and can't go outside.”

Seyval threw his acc.u.mulated indignation at his friend then s.h.i.+vered with horror.

“How hard is it to make enemies with you? Terribly easy.”

Legion was wondering if he was scared, when he heard Flora's laugh from outside. When he looked out into the garden, Flora was walking in a jerky manner pulling Vio's left hand.

“Brother, brother. Look! These are the flowers I planted!”
“Aah, how amazing Fiona. You're very skilled.”
“Right? Ed said so too. I'm good at handling flowers.”

The mere sight of laughter makes me feel very happy. A sudden feeling arose is his heart.
Legion looked at him, Seyval cried “I don't know.”

“It seems he's not the only Lesserhain when you from look here.”

When he first came to Leca, he muttered the same thing Legion thought. He glanced at Seyval and the corners of his mouth lifted.

“I won't say anything unnecessary, so look at it with your own eyes. But if I take no notice of the enchanting Violant-sama, someone else will become his partner?”

Seyval smiled wearily.

“Hey, Legi. Want to go into town? We can drink too.”
“I can go into town, but I'll drink in my room. Otherwise, once the gates close I'll be locked outside.”
“You're always so serious. Whatever.”

With a sigh, Seyval got out of his seat.

Perhaps because of Legion, Seyval is fanning himself in the mansion.
Replying to the invitation letter and the messenger concerned, he proceeded without delay. Vio asked Jill and Lil to prepare the s.h.i.+pment to the Imperial Capital and asked the tax management supervisors do to the work while he was away.
The Deputy Mayor . Otherwise when the short summer is over, the town of Leca will soon enter winter. He'd like to avoid repairing the castle wall because it's dangerous at the foot of the house when it snows.
The urgent business was done, and he asked the Royal Palace to send a message by a horse or by a falcon.
Seeing the supervisor off, Vio went to the kitchen to have a cup of tea. Seyval was boiling the water to make tea himself because Lil wasn't here.

“Excuse me, I'd like to have some water or tea…”
Seyval, who seemed out of his wits, unconsciously straightened his posture when he saw Vio. Vio happened to notice this and smiled.

“Hi, Seyval-dono. I was just going to make some tea, would you mind if I prepared it?”
“N, no. That sort of thing, I couldn't make the Lord of the estate do that.

Seyval wishes he could eat his words. Vio doesn't mind, but looks towards the kettle.

“Seyval? What are you doing here?”
“Ah, Legi. It's the right place.”

Seyval pulled Legion into the kitchen. Legion suspiciously looks around but finds Vio and quickly changes his expression.

“Violant-sama, I will go and prepare some tea!”
“Aah, you want some too?”
“You were listening to me!?”

I'm in a hurry because of money from my duties, so I'll have to decline.

“Don't be so relaxed just because it's sundown.”
“Ugu, guu…”
“―Legi.”
“I, I understand…”

That made the crestfallen Legion's shoulders slump. Vio made triumphant athlete pose[4] and prepared utensils for tea. He placed two teacups down and held the other. He also took the sugar pickles from the Leca flowers off the shelf and took them to the table.

“Please, Seyval-dono. It's a sugar pickle made by preserving in the sugar of Leca flowers.[5] Oh, do you like sweets?”
“I like it, but sorry…”

Seyval seems to be in a restless mood, so does Legion.
Vio wonders what they could be feeling ashamed for while he takes a sip of tea.

“Seyval-dono, as he has cut off his work, he will leave here by the day after tomorrow. If you have anything to attend to, please be ready by tomorrow.”
“Yes.”
“Right, Legi?”
“Okay.”

Vio nods to the two who answer and drink tea.
Lil walked into the kitchen and raised her eyes.

“Oh, Vio-sama. You're back? “
“Aah, thank you Lil. How is the luggage?”
“No matter how much they may tell you, it may not fit, so you have to put what you absolutely need. Jill is making a list now.”
“Yes, I beg your pardon.”

When Vio smiles, Lil can't help but also smile cheerfully. But then she bursts into anger again.

“Now, Vio-sama. Don't shake it like that.”
“Sorry, sorry. I think Lil makes tea better. Can you?”
“It's no use.”

Even thought she complains, Lil still picks up the tea bowl while her rabbit ears go ‘piko piko'.[6]

“It's cute…”

Seyval murmured.
Mn? Vio and Legion saw Seyval looking at Lil with vacant eyes.
