Chapter 20 The Pool

"I thought thinking is your expertise."

Heine leaned down, his golden strands brushed across Xiao Yan's cheek, so real and soft, his kiss became less forceful but as indisputable still.

Xiao Yan believes he would be crushed into bits if he were to struggle further.

His body was folded at an unimaginable angle. He tried with all he could to pull back his legs but his effort meant nothing in front of the powerful man.

The surreal pain he felt was devastating.

Heine lowered his head, his intense gaze met with Xiao Yan's, while going further with every thrust. Xiao Yan felt himself as though a fissured reef crashed by a series of waves, about to shatter into pieces in any second.

Without warning, the man cradled him up from the bed, feeling the strong presence within him dived into his deepest core. Xiao Yan's mind went blank, only to see the man who is usually emotionless, caressed his cheek gently before landing a soft kiss on his forehead.

Right at that instant, Xiao Yan felt his senses pa.s.sed through a dark shaft and towards a blinding light.

"Xiao Yan! Xiao Yan, what's wrong with you! Xiao Yan!"

Casey's shout rang in his ears. Xiao Yan drew in a quick breath, his whole body quivering.

The room was in dead silence.

Xiao Yan stared at the other end of his bed blankly. There was no one.

Where's Heine Burton?

All of that was my own imagination again?

"What's wrong with you? Are you trying to freak me out on purpose? I nearly thought you had a brain infarction!" Casey was getting all overwrought.

"Nothing, I was just…… lost in thoughts."

What was that? How did I have the delusion of Heine? It's impossible for Heine to affect me with his hormones now, and if he did infiltrate my brain, but I'm connected to Casey right now! Casey's a master in system controls, how is it possible for him not to notice if my brain was infiltrated?

"What were you thinking? About Professor Manson?"

Xiao Yan quickly cleared up his thoughts and changed the topic, "Erm…… Casey, do you believe in immortality?"

"Immortality can never exist," Casey replied firmly.

"It can never exist or it shouldn't exist?"

"It's impossible. Xiao Yan, even the universe has its own lifespan, what else is there that can override the universe?"

Xiao Yan smiled. The same question that Heine tossed over to him, was answered by Casey in a breeze.

"Casey, you really are a genius."

"If you were to place half of your effort you spent on online dating and searching on those whatsoever histories and old movies, I bet you're a genius as well."

"Casey, don't you think we are online dating now?"

"Go to h.e.l.l!"

Their connection ended. After giving out a light laugh, Xiao Yan's face turned blank.

He lowered his head and stared between his legs… it was all wet.

What's with the Heine Burton just now?

If it was his imagination, how could his touch feel so real? As though someone has linked into his brain through the system and create that scene right into his mind…… Although it's probably impossible, if Heine really were to infiltrate his brain, all the senses and thoughts he had would all be existent!

Oh G.o.d! Xiao Yan! Something's definitely wrong with your brain! Heine Burton would be too disdained to enter your brain! A person like him is definitely not going to have s.e.xual desire, at all! In fact, Casey's brain was in the same system interface as mine, how is it possible for Heine to hack into my brain without being noticed by a research elite like Casey that has been through training in defending the Interrupter?

…….Though…… Heine was once the research elite in the Central Science Academy as well……

AH d.a.m.nit! What on earth is happening to me?! Maybe I should consult a psychologist or a neurologist?

But to think that the psychologist entering his brain, searching for the cause of his delusions…… despite the existence of doctor-patient confidentiality agreement, the thought of having someone digging around in his brain and seeing those delusions of him doing…. With Heine……

That is definitely going to be a nightmare!

And then there's his fantasies on Lily, as well as the reaction in his brain during Maya's hormone seduction….

Xiao Yan, are you sure you want a third person to see them?

Definitely not! I might as well be incurably sick!

Das.h.i.+ng into the bathroom, Xiao Yan turned on the shower to calm himself. The warm water trailed from his head and down across his whole body, yet unable to wash away the thoughts in his mind.

"What should I do? How can I stop these impractical delusions from happening?" He continued to sink deeper into thoughts.

That man is always standing on an unreachable height, looking at everything in aloofness. Someone that you can never have fantasies of.

No matter how flawless his face is, no matter how much you trust him during perils, you and him…. Will never develop into that kind of relations.h.i.+p…

Keep control of your brain, Xiao Yan!

Or Colonel Burton would chop off your head one day!

Xiao Yan's mind was going berserk.

I can't stay in the room any longer, I should go for a walk, or find something else to do. I have to get rid of these insane delusions as soon as possible!

Xiao Yan left his room and started strolling in the pa.s.sageway. Meanwhile, a lady in the military suit of tech soldier was approaching from the other end of the pa.s.sageway, with her beautiful blonde hair tugged behind her ear.

As she came across Xiao Yan, she gave him a small nod and went off with her friend.

Xiao Yan felt his heart flutter with happiness.

"Lily! Let's go for a swim later!"

"Sure! Let's go!"

G.o.d! Why is Lily here! Oh… come to think of it, a batch of apprentices went for an external inspection at Lieutenant Colonel Raven's base last week, Lily's probably one of them.

Lily's not only his cla.s.smate but also his dream girl. For several times he had been regretful during his near-death experiences for not able to roll in the sheets with Lily.

The moment Lily walked past him, a breath was held in his throat. The throbbing in his chest made Xiao Yan felt certain that his admiration for Lily did not cease in the slightest.

Those delusions about Heine is surely the result of me taking in his saliva! In any case, once we're back in Charles, it's gonna be once in a blue moon for me to encounter Heine! What's there to worry about!

After listening to Lily's conversation, Xiao Yan straight away decided to head over to the pool.

With a joyful yet wishful thought in mind, Xiao Yan arrived at the only constant temperature pool in the base.

There are no normal citizens in the base, only garrison soldiers and researchers, who will relax by the pool when they are off duty.

When Xiao Yan got to the pool, sure enough, there were Lily and her friend, lying p.r.o.ne by the pool, chatting happily. This was his best chance to approach her, he was raring to go!

Xiao Yan crept into the water, swimming silently over to Lily.

Seeing the slender and s.e.xy legs of Lily vaguely through the clear ripples, Xiao Yan nearly had a nosebleed.

See! Sure enough, Lily's still the apple of my eye!

With that, Xiao Yan began to ponder how should he appear before Lily. Should I pretend to swim over inadvertently, or……

Just as he was lost in thoughts, an oncoming figure dashed towards him with a force that could slice through ripples.

Xiao Yan then felt a water impact strick against his shoulder, and by the time he snaps by from his thoughts, he found himself on nearly sitting at the bottom of the pool.

The person b.u.mped into him with an immense force, and what's worst…… he got hit on his mouth!

His lips got knocked onto his teeth, the intense pain had him neglected the fact that he was still in the water, and started coughing.

In the next second, he was held down by a strong force, his face unshaped by the palm gripping his cheek tightly, the back of his head collided with the pool bottom. Strike with a moment of dizziness, Xiao Yan managed to slit open his eyes to see a knee hovering on top of his lower abdomen threateningly.

Xiao Yan's eyes snapped open. Never once had he felt so miserable in his life like he is now!

The golden-brown strands were like rays that reflects into the water, elegant and blinding.

The person's eyes were as though the frozen surface of the ocean, wielding with the power that would break through its shackles anytime soon.

Heine Burton!

Why him again! Is this a nightmare?!

The expected torment did not come. As Heine recognised the unshaped face under the water was Xiao Yan, his knee paused. He then threaded his finger into Xiao Yan's hair, scooping him up from the water.

Xiao Yan started coughing vigorously once his face left the water.

He knows the gaze Heine had just now, it's the same gaze he has when he was killing zombies!

Heine scooped his hair back from his face, revealing his elegant forehead. However, his calmness seemed like a violence under deliberation to Xiao Yan…

Lily and her friend already have their eyes on them. Meanwhile, Xiao Yan was in an embarra.s.sing state, though he's certainly do not have the time worrying about that.

"I-It was you who b.u.mped into me this time……"

Xiao Yan argued feebly, taking a gulped as he remarked.

Without a word, Heine turned around and walked towards the poolside, forming a slight ripple with his every movement. The pale outline on his shoulders and his robust frame have significantly caught the eyes of the two ladies at the opposite end.

"Who's that?" Lily asked, couldn't tear her eyes off Heine's back.

"I think that's… Heine Burton from the Special Task Forces?"

At the same time, Heine had swum over to another empty pool, with a clear sign that no one is allowed to re-enter his domain.

Xiao Yan held his head in his hands. With such dramatic appearance, he’s undoubtedly become the perfect foil for Heine……

Knowing that he no longer have the chance to get noticed by Lily, Xiao Yan left the pool in defeat, neither does he have the courage to be in the same pool as Heine, so he ended up das.h.i.+ng over to the shower room.

When the image him being kissed by Heine flung into his head, his felt his breath fettered to his body, unable to leave.

This was the first time Xiao Yan had a clear look at the man's figure.

So freaking alluring…..

A body like that had once hovered above himself doing all sorts of things…… Although Xiao Yan still believes that such images came from his own imaginations……

After a hasty rinse of his body, Xiao Yan pressed the open b.u.t.ton, yet, the door did not slide open.

He pressed again. Still nothing.

What's happening? I don't have such rotten luck now, do I…

He turned to his wristband and attempted to reach control center with his communication device. But the response he got was "The code is invalid"!

Only then Xiao Yan recalled, that Heine clutched his wrist back in the pool. The force of his grip even left a crack on the device……

"h.e.l.lo! Anyone out there?! Can someone please help to contact the control center! I can't get the door open, the b.u.t.ton isn’t working!"

Xiao Yan tried to kick and trash, but the door just wouldn't budge.

Stupid Base 14! If it was in Charles, all shower room doors are functioned with sensors! Only an old and ragged place would use b.u.t.tons!

"Is there anyone out there?"

Xiao Yan let out a sigh. What a fat chance is there for someone to be out there? There are only two men in the whole swimming pool area, me, and Heine Burton.

Right at that instant, the door was pushed open with a "bang", even the shower compartment was vibrating.

Xiao Yan was stunned. Because the person standing before him is no one else but Heine Burton!

The water trailed across his hairline and dripped on his shoulder, trailing from the firm outline and onto the floor. He was only in swim trunks, revealing a lean physique with well-built muscles that seems to wield great strength within. Unlike the macho figure like Mark, these muscles were not built from gym training but from the countless battles and slaughter he had been through.

Note: Hi everyone! How was the chapter this week? Not much of story advancement in this chap but quite a number of juicy stuff…

I have a bad news and a good news to inform you guys today, and I really need your help in giving me ideas on how to resolve the bad news. I have the policy of first bitter than sweet, so I'll crack the bad news first. If you guys can recall, I've mentioned about the premium chapters for this novel in the original online publisher website, and previously, the verbal agreement with the author was to have me translate all the non-premium chapters first and when it goes into the premium chapters, she'll help to ask for the copyright to continue my translation from the publisher. When I approached her a few days ago to ask about the copyright issue, because we're closing in to the premium chapters, so as promised, she directed me to the person-in-charge of the publis.h.i.+ng site to ask for further approval to translate (which is the premium chapters that requires money to read, though, not for my translation of course). The publisher has given a prompt reply, which I am truly grateful for, but unfortunately, they can't provide the right to translate the novel for individual or personal use of any sort. Even if I were to buy the copyright of this novel (which I can't obviously, so d.a.m.n expensive), they won't allow me to unless it in a form of a company. So… frankly saying, it would be illegal for me to continue to translate the premium chapters without their approval……

And so here's the question, do you have any, any idea at all what can be done on this issue? Personally, I plan to continue translating, coz I really don't want you guys to dangle right in the middle of the novel and… continue to hang there until, who knows, one day they finally take the premium tag down from the chapters? Anyway, my concern is about what you think. Any of your thoughts can help me sort things out a lot. So, do leave a comment below and tell me what you think.

And the good news is… (though it may be only me who think it's a good news…) I've found a job! It's a multinational company, can't reveal the name as I'm not trying to do an advertis.e.m.e.nt. Not sure how my career life will go as well but their response was unbelievably quick. I just went for an interview yesterday and an hour later "poof", I got the offer. Incredible right? Really grateful, truly.

PS: We still have about 5 chapters to go before we reach the premium chaps, so we still have some time to figure out what we can do.
