If this continues, it will be him that is trapped instead of Heine.

But what can he do about it? As he glances up at Colonel Burton, Xiao's lips swell slightly and stretch into an impish arc.

The gla.s.s slips from his fingers and fell to the floor, Heine easily grabs it and puts it back onto the table.

"I want to trap you here forever." Heine's breath brushed over Xiao's hears, the restrained heat emanating from him gives off a pressure begging to be released.

"If you do then I will never be able to graduate from Xia's lessons."

Xiao suddenly grabbed Heine's head and pushed his face against his. He kissed him with all the strength he had. His mouth was hot and unrestrained. Xiao Yan stood up, his movements crazed and pa.s.sionate, he pressed against Heine. His embrace became increasingly dominant and Heine grabbed a hold of Xiao Yan, but he refused to be pressed down. His tongue traced over Heine's lips and swept through his mouth. Heine stumbled backwards and slammed Xiao Yan down, pressing him to the floor. His s.h.i.+rt collar is ferociously torn apart and his kisses become chaotic and oppressive. There was no warning before Heine was inside of him. Xiao Yan pressed against his shoulders but couldn't stop Heine's violent conquest. His thirst was ignited and unfettered, his body moved desperately over Xiao Yan with a crazed element that he had not seen in reality. Within the illusion, Heine releases all of his madness onto Xiao Yan. His thrusts are raw and strong and he continues to slam into Xiao's body until he breaks.

Xiao nerves fray and scorch under Heine's a.s.sault. He lowered his head, his hair swinging around him as Heine's body crazily collided into him. He weakly attempted to support himself and pushed his hands against the floor. When his strength gave out, Heine's arms wound around him before he slammed him against the ground. He lifts his shoulders to leverage his attack and moves into him roughly, he can feel Heine's sanity collapsing with every thrust. His knee nearly breaks under his violence, only to repeatedly heal. Xiao Yan attempted to turn over and Heine s.h.i.+fted him sideways, bringing his left leg nearly to his chest. His legs feel as though they will tear from his body.

"Heine..." Xiao knows that if this goes on, his nerves will short circuit. He wants to stop the terminal connection.

Heine persistently clung to Xiao Yan and kissed him. This time there is no sense of oppression, rather the kiss is infused with nothing but raw emotion.

Suddenly the entire restaurant reality collapses like a bubble and Xiao Yan looked up at Heine's brilliant blue eyes. The whole world erupts and peels forward, a bright light burst forth and rushed toward him, encompa.s.sing everything.

General Xia's voice breaks through, a rather helpless tone soaking his words.

"Uh...Colonel Burton. The purpose of this lesson is to allow Xiao Yan to learn how to capture his enemy...not to do whatever you want. If you want to do these things, my advice is to do them in reality....well...maybe even ...just not on my terminal. I really admire my own self control. These are some stunningly tempting scenes."

"I'm sorry... I failed, Major General."

Xiao Yan struggled to get his galloping heart to slow down.

"Do you know what mistakes you made?" General Xia's brows draw slightly in.

"I know."

"No, you don't know." Xia's fingers point through the air as if to puncture a barrier. "You should have been a hunter, but you have become prey. That is dangerous, major."

"I......"

Xiao Yan wants to say something, but Xia does not give him a chance.

"That will be all for today. These lessons are a quite a strain on the mind. You need to get some rest. I hope that the next time you come to my office you know what to do."

Xiao Yan sighed. He knew it wasn't Heine's fault; his will was simply not firm enough.

The moment they exit Xia's office, Xiao Yan violently slams Heine against the wall of the pa.s.sage. At the loud bang, the liaison officer abruptly stands up. The special forces guarding the door look on, unsure if they should continue walking or not.

"If you want to f.u.c.k me, keep in reality."

"If you could last to the end."

Heine's eyes were calm and nonplussed. Xiao glanced at him and gnashed his teeth in frustration. The person he was really mad at was himself.

He is angry that he cannot resist Heine. He cannot resist his attraction to him and always adapts to his illusions and desires.

Heine lifted Xiao's hand off of him and placed one of his fingers into his mouth. He gently wrapped his tongue around him, licking and kissing him. Xiao Yan attempted to close his hand, but Heine's strength is always astounding. If Xiao doesn't want a broken finger then he can only stand patiently as Heine presses kisses along his knuckles and joints. His warm breath weaves between his fingers and Xiao has the urge to smash his fist through Heine and stop it all.

Under Heine's gaze there is nothing but peace. His eyes are a bottomless blue ocean.

Xiao glanced up to see Xia's liaison officer awkwardly s.h.i.+ft his gaze around, unsure of where to look. He couldn't help but sympathize with his awkwardness.

"I need to head back to the lab and see how Lauren's data processing is going."

Xiao Yan walked along the hallway, behind him he heard the steady steps of Heine Burton.

He suddenly remembered the words of Major General Gordon a few days ago.

"Someone asked me where Colonel Burton is. I said, just find out where Major Xiao Yan is."

Before he entered his lab, Xiao deliberately left Heine outside the door. He simply didn't have time to be distracted by Heine's presence in his research room.

"Whether or not you think of me has nothing to do with where I am."

Xiao pushed past Hine, would this guy die if he stopped blurting out blunt truths?

Lauren's work is going smoothly. Before Xiao had been tasked with researching the x-2, he had been busy adapting a finished Sharon virus. This was the virus that rendered them invisible to the zombies, a breakthrough that was extremely important when dealing with the Surge. After Xiao returned to the s.h.i.+re, he discovered that the virus was no longer active in his body. Although it had been in his body for quite a while it still showed side effects when tested on others and there was still a possibility of the body rejecting it. Creating a virus that the body fully accepts is now what Xiao Yan is focused on.

Lauren who had been tiredly watching is about to nod off.

When his head nearly hit the table for the tenth time, Xiao finally spoke.

"Lauren, you have something to wear for the anniversary dinner right?"

Lauren jolted awake and stared at Xiao Yan in shock. "You will really take me there?"

Xiao Yan chuckled. "I can't find a female partner anyway, I can only take you."

"You can't find a female to take? How can that be? It is probably because no woman can withstand the icy wrath of Heine Burton! "

Xiao Yan looked up and reluctantly pressed his fingers against his eyebrows. "Yea..."

Either way it is still the first time that Xiao Yan has been to such a gathering. Only the elites of the s.h.i.+re attend the dinner. Although Xiao is only a major, his achievements have secured him a spot. When he returned to his room that night, he saw his formal wear hanging by the wardrobe.

Heine was seated on the side of the bed , looking over at him.

"Did you get this for me?" Xiao lowered his head and pointed at the neckline of the attire.

"No. General Ervel personally selected it for you. He wanted to ensure that you would be properly dressed for when you meet the president."

Xiao hmphed a bit disappointed. Then he thought of the stories he had heard of the annoyingly long winded president. If the President showed any interest in talking to him at the party he would spare no effort to hide from him.

"And what about you?" Xiao and Heine were lying side by side, looking at each other. Their faces were mere inches apart. He liked watching Heine from this angle. His eyes appeared as though a hurricane were about to break free from their oceanic depths.

"Just...Like you."

Heine's answer elicited a crooked smile from Xiao. "Too bad that we cannot dance together. They only waltz. It is the President's favorite dance. He likes the solemn elegance and gorgeous colors."

Heine rolled over to pull Xiao beneath him. His hands fiercely gripped the pillow and his hot breath spread over Xiao's cheek like lava. He could feel Heine's strong s.e.xual aggression and he futilely tried to push Heine off of him.

"Hey...weren't we talking about the waltz?"

"The waltz is for tomorrow night."

As Heine lowered his head toward Xiao's he knew that it would be difficult to get any sleep this night.

The anniversary dinner is one of the most extravagant events in all the s.h.i.+re. Under the dome, fireworks scatter their lights across the sky in a grand salute. The people toasted to the future and the event was surrounded in jubilant celebration.

Xiao escorted Lauren to the front of the presidential palace under the protection of the special task force. Lauren stands mouth agape, shocked.

Xiao is dressed in a tuxedo, this attire is a sharp contrast to his plain lab coat. The cut of the suit has a high society quality to it with a European elegance. For the first time in his life, Xiao's looks attract the attention of the entire room. Lauren looks in awe at the event and the people surrounding them.

"G.o.d...Xiao Yan! That is the president's chief of staff! I have seen him on the news.

"Look! That is the first spokesperson of the military."

"Oh, my G.o.d, that is the President!"

Xiao followed Lauren's excited gaze to see a 50 year old man. He wore a light smile and his eyes were crinkled in mature lines. This is the s.h.i.+re's president. As he turned toward Xiao Yan, Xiao instinctively pushed Lauren to move in the opposite direction.

"Hey! Xiao Yan! What are you doing!" Laure twisted around to look at him.

"Saving you...unless you want to spend the entire night serenading the president."

Unfortunately Gordon and Ervel are with the president and he moved toward Xiao, rapidly closing the distance between them.

"Ugh. I hate politics. I hate it. Hate it. So boring...." Xiao frantically scanned the party looking for any sign of Heine.

Suddenly the entire military department s.h.i.+fted their attention to the entrance of the banquet. A stern cold man walked through the crowd with steady steps. The attendees gathered together then moved sharply to the side as the power of his presence s.h.i.+fted closer. They look up at the tall man, their gazes filled with admiration and wors.h.i.+p.

Xiao feels as though he has been rescued.

Heine's suit is simply cut, the clean lines display a deadly elegance. The pure black material sets off the gold of his hair and his blue piercing eyes move as though they could eat through the light.

Heine stopped in from of Xiao Yan and reached to tilt his face toward him. "What kind of hairstyle is this?"

Xiao smiled. "Maya said that this was the best way to style it for the dinner."

Xiao's hair is slicked back revealing his forehead. The style did not seem old fas.h.i.+oned, but rather...As Maya put it... gave off an 'elite' vibe.

Heine's fingers move through his hair and brush his bangs back over his face.

"This is more you."

The president moved toward Xiao again and Heine's eyes moved past Xiao's shoulders to collide viciously with that of the president.

The president halted his steps and lowered his head helplessly. He turned to General Ervel and commented tentatively. "That pressure surrounding Colonel Burton is rather intense."

"In that case perhaps it is best to start off with some entertainment that will relax the Colonel's tension?"

The president's chief of staff tapped his spoon against his wine gla.s.s and all chatter in the hall stopped. The president did not present his usual long winded speech but instead raised his hand and motioned for the music to begin. The melody slowly drifted through the party and the waltz began.

The men and women of the dinner party began to merge and move together.

Suddenly someone tapped Xiao on the shoulder. He turned thinking it was Lauren but instead saw the lovely Lily, she was wearing an elegant silver dress. She didn't wear heavy makeup, instead her fresh and natural face shone charmingly under the bright lights of the hall.

"Lily... How are you here?" Xiao Yan stunned.

Lily has been promoted to chief liaison officer. She gives off a different air than in her youth as a student. She is calm and gracious. She displays a temperament that makes one want to linger and appreciate longer.
"I was invited by General Ervel as his companion. Unfortunately he is stuck listening to the president all night." She moved toward Xiao and reached her hand out. "Shall we dance to this song? I practiced the waltz all month for this night. Please don't let my efforts go to waste."

Xiao looked over at Heine's back. Well, it is not like Heine could be his partner. Xiao got his attention and mouthed, 'I will be back later'.

Holding Lily's hand, the two slipped into the rotation.
Heine did not move from where he stood. Winn pulled at his collar with one hand and slung an arm around Lauren with the other, forcing him to follow him as he approached Heine.

"So Boss.. Xiao Yan, was abducted by his G.o.ddess?"

Heine said nothing. He stood in the center of the festivities, surrounded by the dance but isolated from it.

Winn took Lauren away, and the melody begins again. The music reaches its crescendo and then falls back in a repeating pattern.

Xiao Yan holds Lily's hand, and Lily's gaze glides along Xiao Yan's face.

"Although I am not good at leading, you don't have to look at me like this."

"You are different than before."

"Is it because of the suit?"
"You have gone from a cla.s.s B student the elite of the Central Academy of Sciences. You are the most respected technical soldier, revered by even the special task force. You have accomplished what none of the so-called geniuses were able to."

"I am not trying to be a genius. But your praise makes me feel that I have finally gained your attention... after trying for four years."

Lily laughed and the lights along the room were never so dazzling as they illuminated her smile.

"It is not your talent that caught my attention. What I can never forget is that when the zombies were about to tear me apart you would not leave me behind."

Lily closed her eyes. As the music gathered and the tempo rose, she couldn't keep pace with the quick rhythm of the waltz. Suddenly everything slowed and her face drifted closer to Xiao Yan, her lips hover near his, a mere breath away.

Then suddenly something roughly smashed into Xiao Yan and his back slammed against someone's chest--A chest with very familiar muscle definition. He stiffened and turned to meet the cold eyes of Heine Burton.

He was just about to tell him it was rude for him to cut into his dance with Lily, but the sight of Heine's fury made him swallow the words back down.

"Lilly! Sorry..."

Unable to explain more, Heine fiercely plucked Xiao's hand off of Lily's waist. Heine's hand moved to his own and his grip was so forceful that Xiao had no choice but to follow.

Lily stood rooted in one spot with a stunned look on her face. After a minute she retained a light expression and waved at Xiao Yan before withdrawing from the dance rotation.

Everyone in the party was looking at Heine and Xiao Yan. The heavy pressure of so many eyes on him caused Xiao to misstep and move in the wrong direction. Heine tightened his hold on his waist and guided him back as he stumbled into another couple.

"Hey! Don't you know that everyone is staring at us?" Xiao looked at Heine irately, even though his hand was about to be crushed by Heine's demon grip.

"Then make sure you keep rhythm and stop making mistakes." Heine said simply.

In Heine's eyes the fact that two men were waltzing did not even warrant a thought.

Xiao is well aware of the extent of Heine's persistence.

Maya was nearby dancing with Jessica. He looked over at Xiao with a lascivious expression and grinned knowingly.

b.a.s.t.a.r.d!
Xiao Yan bowed to Heine and moved forward. Why must his waist be held? Why is he forced into the female's dance steps?

"It is better to get it out in the open so everyone can just accept it."

Xiao Yan looked into Heine's eyes. After a couple of seconds he couldn't help but relax into a smile.

This is truly Heine Burton.

Xiao turned and put his hand around Heine's waist. He leaned his head down to dip him and his eyes turned liquid, gathering all the light in the world and projecting it onto Heine's face.

His profile catches the light, the shadows and the lines of his face sketch an other-worldly beauty. His palm is over Xiao's shoulders. The roles of the dance have s.h.i.+fted and each time the rotation is alterlanted his posture tightens in restraint. His elegant form moves as if something is about to break through and disintegrate his discipline.

The air moves around Heine like cras.h.i.+ng waves in a turbulent storm.

Xiao looked up at Heine, he couldn't help but admire the indifferent expression of this man.

Unlike the gentle and fluid swing of the men and women, Xiao Yan and Heine move with an elegant strength and power unique to men. Their steps are smooth as though they are riding a tide toward the sky. When Heine slide-stepped back and leaned toward him, Xiao caught the rolling waters undulating in Heine's gaze. His heart began to beat chaotically and he could barely control his own body weight as he fell into Heine's arms.

Finally he steadied himself and matched Heine's steps as they danced their way through another rotation.

Everything became a dizzying sparkle of light and sound. Xiao looked at Hien and everything collapsed into this one encapsulated moment.

Xiao lightly whispered and turned, he thought the Heine would stumble, but his calf slammed against his as he corrected his balance. Heine quickly used the leverage to easily swing around Xiao Yan. Xiao's blood poured erratically into his heart until it was full and pulsing with enough tension to crack. Heine adapted to the rythmn and as the rotation began again he swing Xiao into his arms.

"Haha... do you think this fun?"

This quiet compet.i.tion is different than their compet.i.tive combat. It is not a battlefield. Heine looks down at Xiao with an oppressive and possessive desire, a desire that is equally matched in Xiao's gaze.

They danced endlessly circling the ballroom.

"Yes." Heine's voice is strangely soft and his words burrow into the softest place in Xiao's heart.

"Don't you think that this song is a bit too long?" Xiao asked cryptically.

Xiao Yan's gaze locked with Heine. His eyes become cold and focused and his voice is suddenly pitched low and serious.

The shadows moving around them gradually blur and the music pulls away. The extravagant venue dismantles and strips away leaving an empty boundless s.p.a.ce.

"Don't stop so soon," Heine said softly.

Xiao Yan paused and frowned. "You knew that I had trapped you?"

"I knew that you would trap me with the waltz."

Heine's expression is indifferent and he couldn't guess as to when Heine figured out that they were still in Xiao's mind.

"Aren't you supposed to struggle and resist my trap?"

Heine's forehead lowered until he touched Xiao's. "Can't this go on for a little longer."

"Okay." Xiao's lips curled into a warm smiled and he closed his eyes savoring Heine's presence and connection.

Everything is gone. Lauren, Winn, Lily, the food...Nothing but s.p.a.ce remains. Heine is holding tightly to Xiao Yan and the waltz continues to play as they move with the melody. They danced until their bodies spread outward, Heine insisted on holding Xiao throughout. His grip was firm and Xiao smiled before completely disappearing.

"See you back in reality."

With a heavy breath Xiao terminated the connection. He removed the connecter and his eyes gradually adjusted to the bright lights in the office.

Everything has occurred in Xiao's mind. Xiao first let Heine think they had returned together and then joined him for the dinner. As Heine focused on the waltz he took no notice when the song ended and they fell into Xiao's mental merry go round.

Xiao's patience paved the way. He constructed a typical day while slowly and meticulously laying the trap out for Heine.

******Did anybody figure it out? I love that Heine did not want to leave? It gets even sweeter next chapter...then dramatic...we are getting close guys. Sorry to everyone for being so morose, lately. I shouldn't put all that on you guys. Thanks for hanging in there. I didn't mean to make the chapters so depressing with my post chapter wailing. I....oops? Btw thank you to the reader who kindly indicated I really needed to call some friends up before I completely lost my mind...you were not wrong. Thank you so much to all of you for sharing your own heartbreak and losses to comfort me. I really appreciate it. Okay...I'll stop talking about it.

Also...I can't post a link here because Wattpad deletes it (I really thought I was going crazy for awhile but it really does), so on my profile is the link to my 'tip jar'. If you enjoyed yourself, please leave a tip...That somehow sounds inappropriate. ...of course after reading BL everything sounds inappropriate. Thank you for the people who left a tip last chapter. That was really sweet, and it helps so much. I tried to finish this chapter as quickly as I could as a thank you.

Happy New Year!
