caen llaves, relojes,

Dnde est la violeta recien parida? Dnde
la corbata y el virginal cefiro rojo?
Sobre las poblaciones
una lengua de polvo podrido se adelanta
rompiendo anillos, royendo pintura,
haciendo aullar sin voz las sillas negras,
cubriendo los florones del cemento, los baluartes
de metal destrozado,
el jardn y la lana, las ampliaciones de fotografas ardientes
heridas por la lluvia, la sed de las alcobas, y los grandes
carteles de los cines en donde luchan
la pantera y el trueno,
las lanzas del geranio, los almacenes llenos de miel perdida,
la tos, los trajes de tejido brillante,
todo se cubre de un sabor mortal
a retroceso y humedad y herida.
Tal vez las conversaciones anudadas, el roce de los cuerpos,
la virtud de las fatigadas senoras que anidan en el humo,
los tomates asesinados implacablemente,
el paso de los caballos de un triste regimiento,
la luz, la presin de muchos dedos sin nombre
gastan la fibra plana de la cal,
