This throws me over. The sound of her pleasure is too much and, before I can stop myself, I'm pulling her chest tight to mine and spilling myself within her. Both of us are completely still. Our connection does the work; she pulses and ma.s.sages as I throb and swell.
We hold each other, locked together in a perfect embrace until the tingles subside, leaving me aching and wanting more.
That's when I lift her and carry her to the bedroom. I'm not done yet.
Chapter Twenty Seven.
Eloise A soft, cold breeze blows across my aching body as I lie on my front and slowly wake. Fingers trail patterns over my back. I feel him write his name as his lips gently caress the back of my neck.
"I don't know why I can't stay away from you." He murmurs and I'm not sure that he knows I'm awake. "I'm not good for you. You deserve so much better."
I s.h.i.+ver when he slides the blanket further down my body, trailing his fingers over my thighs before moving them back up again and pressing his entire body into mine. "So do you."
His lips touch my jaw. "We'll make it work."
"Until August?"
"No," he says and my heart drops. "Until you don't want me anymore."
"What if you don't want me first?"
Teeth sink into my neck and his hand curls under me, wrapping around my breast. "Don't be stupid."
"I'm going to Cambridge." I feel my heart deflate further. He nuzzles my neck, soothing me, all the while making me giggle at how sensitive and ticklish I feel.
"We'll figure it out."
I roll over and he leans over me, pressing his lips to mine. "You can't do what you did last night again."
He immediately knows what I'm referring to. "You make me crazy. I've never done anything like that before."
"Well don't do it again. It wasn't nice."
He shrugs. "It was either smash his window or smash his face and expose our relations.h.i.+p."
In that case I'm glad he chose the window. "Whatever. Just don't do stupid things like that. We need to keep our hands as clean as possible."
"But I like you dirty." He wags his eyebrows and growls like an animal before unleas.h.i.+ng a bite attack on my neck. I laugh uncontrollably, trying to push him away as he relentlessly tickles me with his mouth and fingers. When he finally stops we're both smiling and breathing heavily. "I won't do it again. Try to stay away from him."
"I was lonely, he was available."
His face falls both emotionally and figuratively. "I'm sorry for hurting you."
"Me too." I check his watch which rests on the bedside table and roll back onto my front. "Now go to sleep. I still have an hour before I have to get home."
Seconds later I'm out like a light.
"Shut that f.u.c.king thing off," I grumble, completely exhausted and not happy at the sound of a phone ringing. And then I feel the sun against my face and jolt upright. "Oh my G.o.d." I dive from the bed and search everywhere for my clothes. My dress is in the living room. "OH MY G.o.d!"
"What?" Isaac jerks awake and rubs his eyes, only then noticing the time. "f.u.c.k."
"I'm so dead!" I race into the living room and pull on my dress and shoes. "I have to go."
"I should drive you. You can't run around the streets looking like that."
I look around, panic consuming me. "What the f.u.c.k am I going to do?"
My heart races as I dart back into the bedroom and pull Isaac's lucky s.h.i.+rt from the closet. I pull it over my dress and tie my hair, grabbing the phone that woke me up.
It rings again. It's Hayley.
"Hey."
"So your dad is totally p.i.s.sed."
"Oh dear."
She laughs loudly. "Where the h.e.l.l are you?" My eyes roam to Isaac and I wince. "Never mind. I told him you're with me and because my mum is awesome she confirmed that you'd just nipped out to get coffee, but she's p.i.s.sed at you too."
"Thank you." I let out a breath of relief and run my fingers through my hair. "You need to get your a.r.s.e here now. I have a feeling your dad might check."
"He's a w.a.n.ker. Why aren't I allowed the same freedom you have?"
Isaac wraps his arms around me from behind and rests his chin on my shoulder.
"Because he's a controlling c.u.n.t. Now, are you coming?"
I bite on my lip as I try to sort out the plague of thoughts rus.h.i.+ng through my mind. "Can you come and get me? And umm... bring me some clothes and underwear."
Hayley's cackle is loud and piercing. "Oh my G.o.d! You were about to do the walk of shame! I should just leave you, but I'm not that mean. Where am I getting you from?"
"The apartment building off Robert Street."
She falls silent for a moment and I hear her stuffing things into a bag. "And who lives there?"
"I'll tell you later. Just get me out of here."
"Coyote ugly moment? Is that why he can't drop you off."
I wince and Isaac laughs silently, his chest shaking against my back. "Kind of. Will you hurry?"
"I'll text you when I'm almost there."
Thank the lord for a friend like Hayley.
I ignore the twenty missed calls from my dad and turn to kiss Isaac. "I'll call you later."
"Are you going to tell her?"
I have no idea. "I can trust Hayley." He looks sceptical. "I don't know what I'm going to do. It'll be nice having somebody on our side, though."
Isaac I watch her from the window as she runs to her friend's car and dives into the back seat. Before it drives away I see her take a bag and start rummaging through before leaning forward and planting a kiss on Hayley's cheek, who is still laughing.
This could be bad for both of us. We were so f.u.c.king careless.
I just hope it doesn't rebound badly.
But even if it does, I'm not sure that I even care. Of course I care about shaming my family and I'd definitely care if I lost my job, but I just can't go another day without her anymore.
Seeing her with that p.r.i.c.k really opened my eyes. If I let her go, I'm losing the best thing that has ever happened to me. She's it. I can feel it. I don't care that we have to sneak around. I don't care about the stress. All I care about is her happiness. All I care about is her.
I know she feels the same.
We can do this if we play it safe. If we pay attention and remain apart when we need to, we can do this.
Isaac: Good luck with your dad.
Eloise: I'm done with being chained... I'll call you later to moan about him.
I smile, having no doubt that she will. I miss our late night phone calls on the nights she couldn't sneak out.
Eloise: P.S. We can do this!
And she can clearly read my mind.
Isaac: That we can and it will be amazing.
Eloise: Last night was amazing.
Isaac: Agreed.
My own phone rings and I quickly answer when I see it's my dad. "What the f.u.c.k did you do?"
Oh s.h.i.+t. "Huh?"
"Susanna just quit... she just b.l.o.o.d.y quit."
Oh dear. "I didn't do anything!"
He hangs up and I hang my head in shame. Maybe leaving her at the restaurant wasn't the nicest thing, but in my opinion it was necessary. I should probably fix this.
I knew getting involved with my mum's carer was a stupid idea. I really need to stop letting my d.i.c.k make all of my decisions.
I call her number and pray that she answers.
"h.e.l.lo?" Thank G.o.d.
Now what do I say? "It's Isaac."
"Oh." Her voice darkens. "What do you want?"
"I would just like to apologise for my behaviour last night."
She lets out a laugh and it's not because she finds something funny. "You mean how you left me stranded out of town with no way of getting home?"
"It was an emergency." It was actually, but I can't tell her why. "I thought your brother would give you a ride."
"I didn't know you'd gone until ten minutes after he'd gone. I knew the queue for the toilet was long. I thought you were still f.u.c.king waiting." Yikes, angry Susanna is not a Susanna I'd like to meet face to face.
I wonder if Eloise is going through this with her dad right now. Nah, hers will be worse. That man is way too protective.
"I am genuinely sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. Can I please make it up to you in some way?"
"Nope."
"Look... my mum and dad really like you. Whatever happened with us is my fault, not theirs."
She snorts condescendingly and it really grates on my nerves. "That's the only reason you called isn't it? Because your dad was angry."
Maybe. "No, I was going to call. I was just embarra.s.sed."
"Well, I'm not interested. Go call somebody else."
"I am genuinely sorry. I've never done something like that before. My emotions overrode my better judgement."
She doesn't speak for a long moment and if it wasn't for the background noise on her end, I'd think she'd hung up. "What happened?"
Ah s.h.i.+t. "I umm... had a really bad stomach." She remains quiet. "An extremely bad stomach."
"I'm not sure I'm seeing your point."
This is f.u.c.king mortifying. "My stomach was really bad and the queue was too long."
"Oh." She drags the word out and then clears her throat. "But the drive to town must have taken ages."
I cringe and bite on my knuckle for a moment. "I umm... didn't make it that far."
"Oh." This time she says the word as a single syllable. "Yikes. Are you okay now?"
No... I'm f.u.c.king not. "Yeah. Can you not tell anyone that piece of information?"
