Soon enough, after an hour or so the village chief’s son returned.

“Please let us work in the mansion.”

“I understand. Eins.”

“By your side.”

Eins appear next to the man.

“The villagers said they will be working here from now on. With everything happened today I guess they must be tired, show them to their room.”

“Certainly. Right here please.”

“A-, Ah. Yes.”

The man nodded and follows Eins.

What shall I do for tomorrow?

Even though they haven’t started working yet, the servants aren’t allowed to share the same table as their master.

They will be having dinner and breakfast among themselves.

“Well, did you rest well yesterday?”

“Ah, yes.”

I had Eins called the village chief’s son to the study to have a talk.

“Good to hear that. Now then, shall I give your work?”

“So, what should I do?”

“Well, it’s easy. Just make a garden.”

The man spit out his drink.

Why on earth did he do that?

“What? A garden?”

This mansion has a field but not a garden.

So, I thought about it before and decide to leave the matter to him.

“The tools will be given by the golem. You may go now.”

“What about the children?”

Oh, I forgot to mention the children.

“I will leave the children to Eins. If you have no further questions, you can go now.”

“Ah, yes.”

After a nod, the man left the study.

Well, I’m looking forward to how the garden will turn out.

“Drei.”

“By your side.”

“Send your people outside to deal with the bandits and report to me once they have been subjugated.”

“I understand.”

Drei nodded once and disappeared.

It’ll only be a matter of time until the problem is solved.

It’s been two weeks ever since but I still haven’t received any report yet.

“Drei.”

“By your side.”

“Right now, are your subordinates fighting hard?”

I wonder how the bandit is doing right now.

“About that.”

“Hmm?”

Drei told me there’s a bad news.

Apparently, the country hasn’t realised the town has been attacked.

It seems that the bandits had disguised as the villagers and they manage to deceive the people coming from outside of the town.

“Did they plan this from the start?”

“It seems that way. Things might go as they planned if we give them chances.”

This is quite troubling.

If that happened, we have no choice but to keep hiring the townspeople and take care of their descendant here till forever.

“What about the fire started by the bandit?”

“I dare say the fire was just a cover.”

So then, it was a trick?

“Since it is a village, it was thought that fire fighting can’t be done in time.”

Such foolish thing!

What should I do?

Should I order Drei and his men to kill the bandits and later restore the village?

But that’s the same as what the bandits do.

And who will explain the situation to the kingdom?

Guess I’ll have to use those who surrender to explain it after the battle ended.

Aristo enter the study.

Well, he’s exactly right, it’s pretty nice.

“Oh, I’m also looking forward to it. By the way, has the bandits been subjugated?”

“Bandits subjugation?”

“Ah, about two weeks ago they attacked a village. So, I was wondering whether they have been subjugated or not?  Speaking of it, the garden you see on your way here is made by those villagers who ran away from the bandits. I’ll tell them later of your compliment.”
