Chapter 27 Part 1

 

It was a rare sunny day in G City when Ye Qiao got off the airplane . However, the city’s
weather was usually quite temperamental; it was gloomy and chilly when it rained and
bl.u.s.tering when it was sunny . Ye Qiao wrapped the windbreaker tightly around her and
bid Shen Ting goodbye . Her company kept her itinerary under wrap to avoid too many
fans showing up in the airport . This time she came out of the airport without causing
any commotion .

 

Ye Qiao waited at the underground garage which had a few levels . Suddenly her phone
rang, but it wasn’t from Zhou Tingsheng .

 

It was a reminder from Qianxi: “I booked an appointment with the psychiatrist for you .
He’s quite popular and very hard to get an appointment . It’s 4 o’clock this afternoon,
don’t be late . ”

 

Ye Qiao replied: “En . ”

 

Qianxi felt bad: “Is this too rushed for you? Meh, it’s all because you work too hard .
Do you feel better being back in the city again?”

 

Ye Qiao almost lost her balance when a sudden gust of wind blew by . She tightened her
hold on the phone: “Yeah, I feel much better . I’m going to hang up now . ”

 

She saw a familiar navy blue Porsche Cayenne coming her way, it was Zhou Tingsheng’s
car in G City .

 

Ye Qiao pulled open the door to get into the car and said: “It’s so windy today . ”

 

Zhou Tingsheng then noticed that the place she had been standing was the entrance of
the garage: “Why did you stand in a drafty place?”

 

Ye Qiao pulled over the safety belt: “This is the entrance, you’ll have to pa.s.s here . I’m

afraid you won’t be able to find me inside the garage . ”

 

Zhou Tingsheng categorically replied: “I can find you wherever you are . ”

 

He parked the car in a place that wouldn’t block traffic and turned around to take a look
at Ye Qiao, up and down . Ye Qiao thought he was going to say something like whether
she had turned darker or not . But his question was: “What did that leaf mean?”

 

Ye Qiao chuckled: “You don’t know?”

 

He certainly didn’t know .

 

Zhou Tingsheng had never had any interest in trees or flowers . Furthermore, he wasn’t
a romantic person to begin with . After receiving the leaf, he felt like she was sending out
some sort of secret code for help . He went to the city library, a place he seldom visited,
and checked out a dozen botanical books . In the end, it was a girl working for Wuzi who
had come from the countryside that recognized the leaf . He even had to withstand Wuzi
mocking him: “Sheng Ge, so you not only eat gra.s.s but started studying about it lately?”

 

He took out the leaf from his pocket and waved it in front of Ye Qiao: “Next time when
you give me a test, could you please be more considerate of my knowledge base?”

 

Ye Qiao purposely gave him a difficult time: “How am I not considerate? Anyone with
common sense should be able to recognize what leaf it is . ”

 

“Oh really, you sent this leaf over and I thought you were showing your true form like
some sort of sprite . ” He started to talk nonsense and pinched her earlobe as if it was
a punishment .

 

Ye Qiao stopped his rambling: “Are you going or not? I have an appointment at 4 . ”
She took out Qianxi’s WeChat message and said in no uncertain manner: “Take me to
this address . ”

 

Zhou Tingsheng frowned: “So you called me over to be your chauffeur?”

 

Ye Qiao delightly teased him: “So what . ”

 

Zhou Tingsheng put the leaf under his nose, sniffed it, and said: “Then what about this?
Sending it to me to think about you?”

 

Ye Qiao smiled with a sparkling eyes: “It’s a certificate . ”

 

“En? What can it be exchanged for?” Zhou Tingsheng took the chance to move closer
to her . Ye Qiao turned her face sideways to avoid him and her lips happened to touch
his ear . She whispered into his ear: “Isn’t there only one thing ever in your head . ”

Zhou Tingsheng pretended to be serious and sat back to the driver seat, turning on
the key to start the car . “It really isn’t true . ”
